THE FRUIT OF GWYNETH’S LABOR :: Gwyneth Paltrow, has borne another fruit of her labor. The actress and her rocker hubby, Chris Martin, welcomed a baby boy over the weekend, Paltrow’s rep confirmed. Rather than drawing inspiration from the produce section, the couple apparently turned to the bible while choosing their son’s name, dubbing him Moses Martin.
Proud parents Gwyneth Paltrow, 33, and Chris Martin, 29, also have a daughter Apple Martin who turns two next month. They tied the knot in a hush-hush ceremony in December 2003, one week after confirming they were expecting their first child together. I DON’T LIK ETHE NAME MOSES - TOO MUCH HSTORY BEHIND IT. THAT’S LIKE CALLING YOUR KID "GOD".APPLE AND MOSES? THEY BETTER BE HAPPY THEY ARE RICH OTHERWISE KIDS WOULD HAVE A FIELD DAY.BY THE WAY, IS IT ME OR DO PREGNANCIES HAPPEN REALLY FAST! IT WAS JUST YESTERDAY THAT SHE ANNOUNCED HER PREGNANCY!
They actually named him after the song "Moses" that Chris wrote for Gwyneth.

people get so worked up about it, get out of your box and you would realize that moses is an extremely common jewish name. i’m sure it’s an homage to her own jewish roots and for her father as well. the fact that coldplay has a song called moses is probably just gravy for them.
When you go through 9 months of puking, diarreha, hemmroids, and then the pain of labor….you deserve to name your kid whatever the he** you want!
Mamabella - yes good point - maternity pains affords you the right to name kid whatever you want - but the kid in turn (who did not ask to be born) also deserves the right to go through life with a name that shows some respect for him/her.Apple? President Apple? Secretary of State Apple? . Seriously. Then again, when you’re rich your kids are not judged the same way.
Not sure about Apple but Moses is a very normal common name.

Congratualtion !! I think they have the right to name their baby any names they want. It’s none of other people’s business.Martin is a one of the great musicians, Paltraw is one of the good actress in Hollywood and she hasboth clasic beauty and talent.Compared to the other Brad’s ex, she is a lot better than JA.
Compared to the names I feared she’d choose (Kiwi? Raisin? Kumquat?), Moses is very nice. But why not Moshe?

i find it ironic that they named their daughter apple (like adam and eve and eve eat an apple from the tree of knowledge) and then name ther boy moses like the man who led the hebrews out of egypt. i just find that sorta of funny and ironic.
I think their name choices are silly, but they can do whatever they want. Just want to say that this is how Gwenyth should look more often. The make-up and hair, I mean. I love her, but she looks so washed out all the time. Here, she looks stunning.
Isn’t this sacreligious to jews, it’s like someone naming their kid Jesus…I feel sorry for the kid, choosing names is important for a baby, he’ll never live up to his name.

Moses sounds too religious for me but still better than Mortimer. I like Coldplay. Never think GP is beautiful but she is one classy lady. Congrats to them.

Someone on this board said " I think they have the right to name their kid whatever they want". We no they don’t actually, how would you like being picked on and called a freak when you go to school. You are an idiot! Give the children something to be proud of, like Jesus or Herod for example. They’ll probably only change it anyway if they have any sense and when thney’re old enough. Just another has been publiicity seeking has beens as far as I am concerned.
