Brad Pitt Shopping

Paris, France :: I finally present to you Brad Pitt (wearing his tan shoes again!) shopping earlier this month at photography store La Maison du Leica located at 52 Boulevard Beaumarchais. ("La Maison du Leica" translates to "The House of Leica." Leica is a camera company, "the father of 35 mm photography" and a leading manufacturer of high precision cameras.)  Brad, 42, didn’t left the camerashop emptyhanded before heading home to his family — Angelina Jolie, 30, son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 4, and daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 1.  Days after, Brad was whisked away to the Dominican Republic to meet with art dealers, promoters and architects.  More pictures in the gallery!

Julia - I thought the Article was refreshing and gives a different spin on what was printed this past week, you know all those different stories with the bodyguards etc

# 196 | Alexanderina-thanks for the article, sound like a normal family to me, it seems that they have settle nicely.

moi jade…i totally agree with you. i think the idea would have been good in france, as that is a favourite way of giving birth over there. the water situation in africa is poor even in the richer areas, trust me i know! not nice you feel like to are dirtier after a bath! crazy. i think its cos they dont bleach the water like they do in the UK and i expect the US. its safe just not to drink, boiled its fine, bit funny tasting but thats the only way id use it. the water was really bad last year, my family lived in South Africa for 6 months. my little sister contracted a virus through bad water it really knocked her for 6! she only used the water for bathing and brushing her teeth, just goes to show it only takes a little. i must say in the UK/US i would have a water bath but not anywhere else.

Not sure if I believe that news article above. Can someone tell me how it is possible that with all these paps ready to get pepper-sprayed and risk bodily injury for just one measly picture, there are no pictures of this supposed BP-Maddox outing on their quad bikes or AJ and BP going into a jewellery store? Of course I’m sure the family doesn’t stay indoors 24/7. So maybe my question really is, how is it possible for them to hide so well?

the real tita @ 04/20/2006 at 5:49 pm

Moi Jade! I was trying so hard to remember who was that BAMZ poster that was a midwife and that’s you! Thanks for the posting. Very informative. So, about the water situation, maybe they can use a whole lot of bottled water to fill the tub or at least boil the water from the tap first? Also, wouldn’t her obstetrician check for water integrity if they go that route?

# 196 | Alexanderina | April 20, 2006 05:32 PM |Thanks for that. I wonder if they are getting married………….Hmmmmmmm. I wish them peace and serenity at this blessed time. Sounds beautiful.

Latest News from Namibia about Jolie/Pitt:olie, Pitt keep a low profile at Namibian resortBy Shashank BengaliKnight Ridder NewspapersThe cordoned-off Burning Shore bed & Breakfast, situated along Namibia’s Skeleton Coast where actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are staying.JOHN GROBLER, KRTThe cordoned-off Burning Shore bed & Breakfast, situated along Namibia’s Skeleton Coast where actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are staying.LANGSTRAND, Namibia - The retirees and German tourists who populate this quiet, seashell-strewn beach in southern Africa have lately seen - or at least heard about - an attractive new couple in the neighborhood.Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have rented out a 14-room lodge in this enclave of gaudy vacation homes on Namibia’s cool Atlantic coast, where Jolie is expected to give birth to their first child in the coming weeks.Since they arrived by chartered plane earlier this month, Pitt, Jolie and her two children have tried to keep a low profile. With a passel of security guards to keep curious locals and a handful of determined paparazzi at bay, the family has hopped around Namibia aboard three Cessna jets, sampling the country’s best safari parks and wildlife sanctuaries.Earlier this week, Pitt and Jolie were seen entering an upmarket jewelry store in Swakopmund, a breezy resort town to the north, prompting speculation that they’ll be married in Namibia, perhaps even this weekend. The latest rumors have the wedding taking place in a remote northern desert region called Kaokoland, which is practically inaccessible by car. The move could be to evade the media, or it could have a deeper significance: The region’s dominant tribe, the Himba, believes a woman should give birth before marriage to demonstrate her fertility.Namibia would be an unusual choice for a Hollywood wedding, to say the least. Its coastline is a vast desert fringed by beach, with a few well-ordered, German-speaking towns - remnants of the country’s colonial past - scattered along a flat, two-lane highway. But with its colossal sand dunes and rainbow-hued sunsets, Namibia offers a taste of Africa’s natural beauty without the travel hassles that are common in much of the rest of the continent. The roads are good, the climate is dry, and the resort towns - with their Teutonic restaurants and architecture - are pleasant, if a bit dull. The 30-year-old Jolie - an Oscar-winning actress who’s still better known for her looks - reportedly fell in love with Namibia after she spent several weeks here in 2002 for the filming of "Beyond Borders," a romance set against the backdrop of an African war.She has returned to the continent a few times, often in her role as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. Last year, she adopted a daughter from Ethiopia named Zahara; she also has an adopted 4-year-old son, Maddox, from Cambodia. While filming "Beyond Borders," Jolie would stroll freely along Swakopmund’s palm tree-lined streets and drop in on shopkeepers with little fanfare."She once came into our office - she was just so dead normal," said Almuth Styles, the head of the regional tourism office. This trip has been different. The couple rarely ventures into town, and when they do, it’s with a security detail, which includes several ex-Namibian military officers. Earlier this week, on the road to Swakopmund, their caravan of SUVs played high-speed cat-and-mouse with a photographer from South Africa who was trailing them. With magazines offering as much as $5 million for a photo of the baby, paparazzi from Europe and Australia have descended on Langstrand, staking out vantage points in the windows of adjacent houses or behind palm trees a few hundred yards from the lodge. Most days, a burly, ruddy-faced member of the security team is stationed on the back lawn of the lodge, peering across the beach with a pair of binoculars. Last week, an Australian was sprayed with pepper spray when he photographed Pitt, 42, playing catch with Maddox on the lawn."Fight Club finally came to the beachfront," cackled South Africa’s Sunday Times, referring to one of Pitt’s movies. The newspaper ran large photos of Pitt and Maddox - sporting matching bracelets - over the weekend. But apart from the odd brush with the paparazzi, or the occasional tour bus stopping to glimpse the lodge, it’s been a relatively unsexy holiday for the world’s sexiest couple.Jolie, reportedly more than eight months pregnant, took the family to a private game lodge to visit a vulture used in filming "Beyond Borders." Pitt and Maddox raced quad bikes over sand dunes one afternoon - which Pitt loved so much, the bike shop owner said, that he promised to be back. It’s just the right speed for the people of Namibia, who dislike a fuss and are happy to give the couple their space."It’s not like Paris Hilton is coming our way," Styles said. "We’re not fast enough for her."Subscribe to the Mercury News

susie…the paps get paid very well, as for not getting the picture, the security are doing there jobs letting them have family time. there is a pap restiction in Namibia and there is a law of people havin the right to be free in this country. i expect there are many ways of escaping from the paps as they have not got close enough to tell there movements till too late, also photograhers have has there cameras taken when going through customs and they have been asked the reason for being there. africa is very much on Angie and Brads side!

the real tita…Lara croft was such an idol over here, i dont know maybe because shes a strong minded brit! lol they even use the idea in our cinemas, to instruct people on the rules of the cinema! its quite funny, she kicks some ass! in cartoon form tho!im a big fan of Lara Croft and i wouldnt want to watch anyone else as lara. i think angie should ask for shares or to be part of the rights. as its her who has kept them in business!

# 206 | the real tita lYour welcome! They could do that with bottled water but they would also have to have a means of heating it first as well. It’s not like you could turn on the tap of warm water using bottled water.Temperature is very imprtant as a newborn who is birthing into water must not have a temperature shock. newborns can not maintain their body temperatures and if it drops suddenly or even within the 4 hours after birth they could fall into cardiacl distress. Their blood sugars could drop as well which is very dangerous in a newborn. SO much happens at the time of birth when a baby is transforming from interuterine circulation to externaluterine circultion. When the vessels from the umbilical cord shut downand the babys heart goes through a series of very complex transitions……the lungs have to rid themselves of intrauterine fluid and expand….. temperature changes could impair this within the first minute or two. I highly doubt any OB/Gyn would agree to this with out all the necessary percautions. Now they have $$$ and all and could possibly do it, but it would have to be at the hospital were if anything were to go wrong they have access to an operating room and anesthesia. Our Birth Center is literally across the street from a Level III hospital.

# 179 | African Girllol that was funny..we have this old woman that mows yards in a dress with football cleats…she’s like 70 and talks to trees…I wonder if those two are related? her last name is Glodow..no **** I’m telling you this woman takes upper, downers and inbetweeners….cracks my gluteus maximus up

the real tita @ 04/20/2006 at 6:20 pm

Stef, I think once you have reached superstar status, you can negotiate to get a percentage of the profit (i.e. Arnold S.). I don’t know if Brad does this but since he’s got a good head for business, I wouldn’t be surprised if he tells Angie to hold out for one. I think it’s part and parcel of moviemaking now that actors get a percentage or a bonus if the movie is a franchise or a hit. And you are right, I remember when somebody kept bringing up pictures of this new Lara Croft and saying they’ve replaced Angie. I bet the haters were having a heyday. Then I read a lot of articles and found out that there have already been several Lara Crofts being paraded around everytime a new version of the game came out. These are just models who have to be at conventions for the players to look at. They can’t get Angelina to do that unless a real film is coming out. They wouldn’t be able to afford her fees for one thing and it’s grunt work. I will never watch another Lara Croft either. It has to be Angie or nothing. Besides, she already has a following for that franchise.

hey guys im going to hit the sack now its 11:30 so im shattered. catch up with u lot tomorrow.take care till then.

the real tita @ 04/20/2006 at 6:39 pm

Thanks again, Moi Jade for all that info. I didn’t know how complicated water birth can be. I thought that would be the easiest way of delivery, but guess not if you’re in Namibia. Just hope that all goes well no matter how their new baby comes out into the world. Angelina doesn’t seem to have wide enough hips that promote easier transition (old wives tale about hip size) so labor might be intense. Moi Jade, does hip size really matter? Stef, if Angie hadn’t hooked up with Brad, I think Gerard Butler would be a good match for her. I don’t know if he’s married or not, but they sure looked good together. He’s also got a movie where he’s the lead role of Beawolf (sp?). Angelina’s in the digital/GCI version of the same name but different movie. How cool is that? If she plays Brunhilde, then it’s another big action movie for her but this time with swords. It’s probably mostly her double and just her face that will be used, but I can’t wait to see it. I’ll probably watch Gerard’s version too. He was good in the Phantom of the Opera. They should just have made him James Bond. He’s more of a fit than that other guy. He’s got the Scottish brogue too, ala Sean Connery. Why didn’t they get GB instead?

the real tita @ 04/20/2006 at 6:44 pm

Sorry, I meant CGI not GCI.

Hey guys, this is another part of Mr. Pitt Interviewed regarding the New Orleans Project. This is him talking I found this over on Bradforums.netPitt declined to answer questions about the upcoming birth of his biological child with Jolie. "Absolutely not," he laughed. There is widespread speculation that Jolie intends to give birth in Namibia and that the couple plan to marry there.Pitt would only say that he had a warm welcome there. "Namibia’s just a country we’re very fond of. It’s a beautiful land and hospitable people and a place that we want to be for the time being," he said.

Alexanderina @ 04/20/2006 at 7:00 pm

Did that sounds like a man that was dragged to Africa like the tabliod reported. You guys should checked it out, the interviewed was done I believe by the Associated Press, I could be wrong about that, but the full interview is on Bradforums.net

# 214 | stef -sweet dream, until tomorrow.

#217 AlexanderinaThanks for theinfo on Mr.Pirr interview.I miss seeing pictures of this family. So it is nice to receive a little info here and there. Africa is becoming their adopted continent. They love it there.

I can’t type today. Of course it is Mr.Pitt.

Original curious @ 04/20/2006 at 7:09 pm

# 72 | creativegirl: yeah, what you said! I know it would be killing me to have lost a man like Brad. That’s why I sometimes feel sorry for JA - usually, just about when I’m there, she shows up on Leno or somewhere with a "rumor I was married to Brad Pitt" "joke" and I’m back to not being able to tolerate her. # 79 | Be sane said: " But then why do I dread seeing Tom Cruise doing that very soon all over the planet :)" yep - I’m wondering if the poor child will be dragged to red carpet events….I just don’t get the feeling of a real bone in TC’s body.# 113 | lylian - Loved that post. I’ve been meaning to say it’s been great having you aboard the Good Ship BAMZ. I always enjoy reading your posts.# 124 | the real tita said so much that was so true. "JA may regret losing her husband, but she regrets losing those wide open doors more" is so sad if true isn’t it? # 136 | Alexanderina - the news of the competition has hit the newswires - I read it on yahoo and several other places. One from AP had Brad laughing that he is still NOT discussing the upcoming birth of +1 and saying that they were very fond of Namibia and the people there. I’m so thrilled that SOMEONE is doing something about that tragedy. I know it doesn’t compare to many around the world, but the response of the US government has been a travesty of justice for the people who lived there. I have a friend who had just moved into the 9th ward. Her house is still standing, but she lost EVERYTHING! For the first time, I feel a glimmer of hope that someday NOLA will rise again. Makes me love Brad even more. # 131 | Be sane : Do we know who is going to star in the Pearl film? I’d have to be hooked up to a saline drip to see Angelina giving birth with only a picture of Brad to keep her company! On# 142 you said: " He routinely visits middle eastern countries where he says their Solar energy research is much more advanced than US gov. wants people to know." Why am I not surprised? Lucky you growing up in a solar house!! I live in Central NY, lots of snow/rain not a lot of sun here. We do have some wind farms in the area though!!Now I know why Cindy 2’s posts are so long! I’ve been reading and replying!! Sorry for the length folks.RUDEDOG!!!! CONGRATS! So you will be living in France now? I’m so happy for you.

African Girl @ 04/20/2006 at 7:09 pm

MedullaOh, rien. Just having fun with the gang. How are you? Sorry it took so long to respond. I was hopping from thread to thread (lol)EstelleYes I know, I wanted to throw him a party…a nice mellow party, then BAM! We got half naked women jumping out of cakes, Pamela Anderson making an appearance (apparently Rudedog was too friendly in germany, so she decided to follow him home), we have the ***** cats and we are all meant to dress like the gals from MR. To top it all, Rudedog seems to be basking in the attention of all the ladies….do you see how overwhelming it is? (Breaks into tiny sobs). This was supposed to be Fun but I am not having (sobs) Fun!StefCongratulations on the new house in South Africa…..hey if the Jolie-Pitts do buy a house in Namibia…..will it be alright if I stayed with you? I pick up after myself, honest I do. QQQQThanks for the info. Goodness, it takes a strong woman to go through that….what am I saying, it takes strenghth to go through labor. For me personally, I would want to be in a hospital with doctors and all the pain killers I can get…..in fact the perfect scenerio for me is this: Labor Pain, go to the hospital, sleep, wake up with baby by my side. Nothing more.AlexanderinaHow do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Thanks for posting that article, it is refreshing to see an article with NAMED SOURCES as opposed to just a source.Moi JadeOkay, go ahead, bake the cake. Just pg 13 stuff okay. No cakes with boobies on them.

*****INSIDE THE ACTOR’S STUDIO*****Another reminder to watch tonight.Angelina is on and it’s a great interview. This will be my second time seeing this since it aried originally almost a year ago. Tonight, 8:00 PM on BRAVO. Watch so we can discuss on line or while it’s going on!.

Moi Jade, thanks for the Water Birth info.Gosh, I wish I was that brave (water birth). I planned on, well, natural or along that line, but once I was in it I screamed to my husband, "GO GET MY EPIDURAL NOWWWWW!" at 4AM. In fact after 27 hr labor I ended up with c-section. Then after 6 hr horrible recovery and no amount of morphine helped, I started hallucinating with pain. They finally gave me Haldol which made me smile. The nurses were surprised saying, "Why are you still awake!?" I was so traumatized for my second birth (planned c-section this time) so they gave me Dilaudid (synthetic heroin?!) at recovery, and I was in heaven. But then I was so scared of running out of it, watching the clock like a hawk for my next dosage. I was then even more scared I was going to get addicted. I’m scared of pain killers now :)

I was just reading the silliest but cute thread over at IMDB regarding the film Babel. I’m really looking forward to this movie and I’m not sure what it means that it’s showing at Cannes but I’m sure that’s a good thing. Anyway, people are discussing the combined hotness of Brad Pitt and Gael Garcia Bernal in Babel and who’s hotter and it seems that Gael is winning by a landslide. Hehee.
