OlderUnexpected Dreams CD Giveaway
The Unexpected Dreams: Songs from the Stars CD was released today, featuring some of my favorite actors lending their voice talents. Whenever actors sing (or try to sing), it completely intrigues me and this new album is no exception! It’s obviously not the best singing in the world, but it’s sure fun to listen to. The CD features 14 spellbinding tunes by composers including Elton John, Billy Joel, Sade, Bob Dylan, and Lennon/McCartney, beautifully sung (well, sometimes) and lushly orchestrated. A portion of the proceeds will benefit “Music Matters,” the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s music education programs. Here’s the Unexpected Dreams tracklisting –

I had no idea of this project but I think it’s something great, actors and actresses have sung before and some of them with great success like Nicole Kidman and her duet with Robbie Williams ‘Something Stupid’ or Rupert Everett singing vocals for Madonna’s ‘American Pie’ to name a few…it’s great and the gift of give is always worthy :)

I only heard Teri Hatcher’s song on some show and I like it.
These are always interesting. Sometimes the ones you think will be good are terrible, and vice versa. Sounds like fun!
I enjoyed Ewan’s cover of "Your Song" and I remember Garner singing in "Alias" and on Rosie with the cast of "Time of Your Life."

I really can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this CD. Jen has a beautiful singing voice, as we all know from Alias. The suprise was how great Victor’s voice was. The way that he speaks on Alias, I guess I never really thought of him singing. I really hope they have this CD in Alaska, if not I think I may cry.

I am not sure about the singing abilities of these celebrities, but hey if its for a good cause I am curious to hear some of the tracks and perhaps purchase.
i’m pleasantly surprised that there was such a project. then again, it is about time since there are actors/actresses who can actually sing prety well. i do have some doubts when it comes to some of them, especially scary teri!i guess it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try!

I listened to the samples of each song online and I must say I’m impressed!!!! Sounds like a great CD to own :DAnd I’m thinking some of these actors should be involved in a movie-musical sometime soon…? Maybe…? :)
