Angelina Jolie on The Today Show
Ann Curry :: In what seems to be the middle of no where, on the edge of Namibia in Southern Africa. A very pregnant Angelina Jolie emerged from her private family vacation to speak on behalf of children in poor countries who don’t get to go to school. What is the worst, in your mind, of that?
Angelina Jolie :: God, there are just so many things. It’s really that thought of the potential of a human being. The lack of education causes death. More children die under the age of 5 when the parents aren’t educated. More people get AIDS when they haven’t had an education. Statistics prove that if every child was in school, every year, 700,000 less people would get AIDS.
AC :: It seems also, for you, kind of a personal thing. You have two children you’ve adopted. Both of you whom might have been in this same circumstance of not being able to get educated. And when you look at them and realize that…
AJ :: I look at them and just think, especially my daughter and how many millions of kids are out of school in her country. Especially girls. And I know how families with AIDS when parents die of AIDS, there’s no possible way that children can make a school fee. There’s no possible way she would have gone to school. And she is so smart and so strong. Her potential as a women one day is great. You multiply her by thousands and that is the thing that I can so clearly see when I look at her. Maddox — the amount of street children in his country… in all probability Maddox would have probably been one of the kids going the garbage picking in the streets. He would have been on his own.
AC :: It must mean much to you, as a human being, to be able to give them an opportunity they never would have gotten.
AJ :: I’m happy for them that they’re gonna have all this education and I hope, with it, they do some good things. That they’re good people. [giggles]

#298 StefWahoo, indeed!! I hear ya — I made a big mistake and let a guy I loved go once, too. To get him back and him still interested — seems it wasn’t meant to be the first time around for either of you, maybe you both needed to do some living apart and getting other experiences, and now… Oh boy, it’s exciting, isn’t it? Keep us posted!I’m not too articulate tonight, so bear with me, I hope you understood what I was saying! lol
# 209 | cindy2, Guli, MalayaRe: FFOK, got all your points. I was there for 20 minutes just now. There are a few hardcore BAMZ supporters (not even, just sane ones) and actually some bonding is happening. Maybe it’s one of you :)
# 263 | Liz | April 28, 2006 10:54 AM Jen’s statements, "Don’t feel sorry for me. It makes my skin crawl. These are real people." I think she was saying it because she is a good person and felt bad for any negativity or volatile comments that were made against Brangelina. She may be divorced, but she’s always been a good hearted open person who always thought of others (example, giving Brad a divorce & moving on with Vince. Are u f**king kidding me??? If that is the standard of wat a "good person" is, hell!!! i’ll marry every **** and harry i met and divorce them right off the the honeymoon night. Honey in my part of the world, divorcing and moving on w/ ur life is not considered a charitable deed or "thinking of others". In fact Its called self-preservation IMO. What cuckoo land have u came from??? Are you trying to defend Anistons lack of charity works?? If so, DONT!! Coz as portrayed by YOU, Jennifer’s coming off like a self-absorbed, selfish, conceited airhead. Now how did i come off w/ that assumption?? coz u said it so!!!!!
# 246 | laurenGet a brain, and while you’re at it, get a heart, too. # 253 | Liz "You may not realize it, but you ARE provoking people."If calling haters for what they are is provoking, that’s the least of those people and your problem. I’d suggest you remove all mirrors and objects with reflective surfaces from the house lest you be provoked by the sight. It is funny that the haters are treating the apt identifying term of "hater" as much as a slur as being identified as an "Aniston fan." It’s easy to overcome, just become a full-fledged BAMZ fan. #263 - "She may be divorced, but she’s always been a good hearted open person who always thought of others (example, giving Brad a divorce & moving on with Vince)."Except to the one who mattered most for her in Brad. Instead of giving him a divorce, she should have told him upfront what her real intentions were for the marriage. As for having a good heart, that’s not exactly the rep she’s earning. #264 - Man, you represent the Maniston fans…oh hell, I won’t even bother. You sure do get pissed off easily, don’t you? African Girl calls you out on your BS and you have a meltdown. Okay, maybe instead of "haters" we should call them simply "unstable." # 286 | AJ sucks Oh look, it’s the jackal still chewing on her tail. # 302 | Be sane "I was there for 20 minutes just now. There are a few hardcore BAMZ supporters (not even, just sane ones) and actually some bonding is happening. Maybe it’s one of you :)"Did you have to take a shower afterwards? ;) I don’t like hanging out there too long. Nor do I check it on a regular basis. Occasionally, I’ll go in skimming over the main index page to find the supporters. I can’t be bothered to read the haters’ comments; I minus well listen to Jessica explain the Declaration of Independence. Lazarati is still taking the haters on. My favorite right now is the person by the name of Mannifer. Only downside is she doesn’t post enough. I will admit only on the rarest of occasions when temptation moves me, I may lob a taunting comment at them. But those, I promise, are far and few between.
What is FF???
Prince Harry launches ‘Forget Me Not’ charity to help AIDS orphans in Africa 14:21:09 EDT Apr 28, 2006 MOHALES HOEK, Lesotho (AP) - Following in the footsteps of his late mother, Prince Harry established his own charity Friday to help AIDS orphans in southern Africa. The Sentebale charity will focus on children in the tiny African kingdom of Lesotho, which Harry visited during his year off from school. It is part of the 21-year-old prince’s efforts to continue the legacy of his mother, the late Princess of Wales, in the fight against the deadly disease. "I suppose it is one time when you can really use your name to raise money," Harry told reporters. "And if I am going to use it for anything, what more of a better opportunity (than) to use it here." Harry described his mother, Diana, as a "massive" influence in the project, and said he hoped she would be proud. The name Sentebale - "Forget Me Not" - is intended as a tribute both to her and to the children of Lesotho. Harry returned to the country this week to launch the project co-founded with Lesotho’s Prince Seeiso, the younger brother of King Letsie. Sentebale aims to provide long-term support for smaller projects that miss out on large-scale international funding. During the trip - his fourth to the mountainous kingdom - Harry visited the Mantsase Children’s Home near the town of Mohales Hoek, where he volunteered two years ago. There he was reunited with four-year-old Mutsu Potsane, whom he met during another trip. Harry cuddled the youngster and made him laugh by pulling faces. Harry went on to tour a crop-sharing scheme in the remote village of Nokong, in the Maluti mountains, where villagers are learning more efficient farming techniques. The prince drew applause from villagers when he addressed them in the local Sotho language. Southern Africa is at the epicentre of the global AIDS pandemic and is home to some 25 million of the world’s estimated 40 million people who are infected. © The Canadian Press, 2006Linkhttp://www.cbc.ca/cp/world/060428/w042840.htmlI think Prince Harry is the right person for this. I’ve seen him over the years with children in various African countries and the children love him. He has a natural ease with children you rarely see.

# 310 | errI know, the first time I went there I was so sickened I closed my computer. I felt torn whether to ignore or to fight, still do. But some of the really racist and hating comments especially towards children bothered me so yes, as cindy2 I limit my stay there but I do comment.
# 311 | funny I think it’s the hairline she had it fixed that looks artificial. Yes she should get her money back….
# 203 | cindy2"It wasn’t as if Angie wasn’t a giggling fool in uncontrollable fits."Normally I don’t bother to correct my mistakes, but that sentence is so misstated I have to modify it. (I change sentences, then forget to modify what was previously typed out.)Correction: It wasn’t as if Angie was a giggling fool in uncontrollable fits. The other errors will just have to be happy to remain eyesores.
# 310 | err "Went to the site dolphingirl. my first time. ewwwqw. i am shell shocked!!!"Yeah, the site’s reputation had preceeeded itself for me by way of word of mouth from others so I haven’t checked it out. Maybe someday if I have time. Like I’m laid up after a surgery or something and can’t get out of my house! LOL. Not that it’s funny to have to have surgery. But I have before and been stuck inside with the cabin fever. I lived off my couch in front of the TV with a laptop on the coffee table. It was pretty awful.Hey cindy2. You are all over the place tonight. I can’t keep up as I know it would keep me up too late to try to catch up on the previous threads. I was up too late last night.

#71 Original JPFI really like this post of yours, and I agree that Angelina is looking beyond money or awareness. It’s part of what I admire, and when detractors start screaming about how we’re fans but what do we do, or about how other celebs do charity, why is she special, this post of yours is exactly the answer. Remember when Michael Douglas was backpedaling and said she did great work with the U.N. "which I’m involved in also"? I had never once heard anything about his involvement before that. He probably writes checks, shows up at a few functions, and that’s it. What Angie wants us to do, more than our few dollars that are often misdistributed, is to start making noise aobut the problem and pressure the world leaders who CAN do something about the CAUSE. By pressuring congress and the World Bank, and making them intervene in the wars, and have the U.N. set up guarded safe routes for distribution of food, and so on, the causes of the lack of development are addressed. Bono did not talk about giving money to these countries, he pressured world leaders into forgiving debt so they weren’t paying US and could invest their funds in their own countries. This is the kind of thing Angie does — working for their own self-sufficiency. This is why I love her so much. She is so independent, and she is trying to show that you can be independent, and still love one another and work together to be strong. She is so beautiful.
# 323 | Stillborn baby | May 5, 2006 10:41 AM You are one sick person.
323–gone…reported u!!
finally i have this thread figured out…took some time but i never said i was a genius…u ppl on here r completely socially retarded and thats all there is to it…u criticize anyone that comes on here with a different view point, different opinions, or different ideas…u badger and insult and the majority of u r just plain mean…i guess u have no respect in the real world nor any friends…u dont stop to examine anything anyone says on here if it hasnt come out of ur mouths…if anyone says anything negative about angelina or her brood, u all take it personally, and thats just plain sick…i have read some of the other posts in here that didnt come from the almighties on here and of course they r wrong and u r right…im a canadian, and i see the difference in the way americans think than the rest of us do…in canada, we r peacekeepers and humanitarians…we basically clean up everyone elses messes….we have never had any acts of war or terrorism thrown at us and u can count on one hand and still have fingers left how many mass murderers we have in our prisons…our education system is one of the highest in the free world and our systems for the poor and homeless r top notch…but on here from the mighty ones and i really dont have to mention any names because ur always on here, and basically so full of urselves that u will automatically know its u im referring to, have made comments to other posters that r absolutely horrible and completely belittling, because its not what u think…u r really a narrow-minded and obnoxious lot…no one can come on here and voice their opinions and concerns and get a civil conversation with any of u…i actually feel sorry for the majority of u and if this is how u behave and speak to ppl in the real world, no wonder ur on here all the time, because no one would put up with that kind of attitude…supposedly there r ppl on here with actual careers but i really dont believe that for one minute because if u held such jobs u would be fair and decent…so i will leave u all as i found u a nasty bunch of socially retarded ppl with as much character as a spoon….have a nice day all of u
