Synopsis :: As the charismatic and unpredictable Jesse James (Brad Pitt) plans his next great robbery, he wages war on his enemies, who are trying to collect the reward money - and the glory - riding on his capture. But the greatest threat to his life may ultimately come from those he trusts the most.
It took over five tries to get all the screen captures, so I hope you enjoy them (as small as they might be). Casey Affleck, who plays Robert Ford, narrates the teaser trailer. Brad said last year was a "shake up year". Both personally and professionally, he did it! He is not "morphing", he is growing into a more mature, more masculine man and actor. I look forward to his future roles and movies.
Okay, I finally caught up with the gang. Too many threads to keep up with but who’s complaining, eh? After famine there was feast instead of the other way around. This sure is not a slow news week. Celebrity news and mags are reaping the benefits.Have always loved Westerns (think Clint Eastwood, not Brokeback Mtn.) so will watch the Brad as Jesse James. I think he’s playing him as the true character, as a true badass and not the usual HW treatment of a victim turned bandit. Movie viewers are getting smarter these days and are expecting value for their money. I hope this movie makes serious money so more good movies can be the result.Regarding the hair, when Brad had on that Billy Idol look (according to the ex), would that have been his hair on Babel? From what we’ve been reading, that time in Kenya and later on, when he was sporting the very blond rocker do, the critics were saying it was to look more like the brother, then when he was back to the dark hair, they were saying it was to look like her or BBT. We all know it’s for Jesse James with that dark hair but what about the blond?

I was trying to remember if he said it was a dare, but I’m pretty sure he said he came up with that brainstorm all by his lonesome.What you see in the Babel promo pics is his hair growing out of the bleach blonde into his natural color…and then later he dyed it darker for the Jesse James flick.

Brad will have 2 movies this year, Babel will be featured in the Cannes Film festival this May and open on October and this movie about the legendary outlaw Jesse James. I will certainly watch this movie during its opening weekend. It looks like it is going to be a big hit!

I hope this movie or Babel will be shown at the Toronto International Film Festival. Any movies that will be shown around Oct or Nov usually ends up at the Toronto Film Fest. I am sure Babel will be there & if so I would expect Brad to attend there together maybe with the Jolie-Pitt family. It will really make my year. Brad was at the Film Festival when his movie Seven Years in Tibet was premiered and he was with then girlfriend Gwyneth. And I remember the mad house when they arrived. I am expecting it here if babel or Assassination make its premiere here. Can’t wait!

Wow, I guess I’ll have to get off my behind and go watch Babel, Jesse James and Good Shepherd. I have to see the sexiest man alive and the most beautiful woman (gosh, what a potent and lethal combination). I normally wait for the dvd since I don’t like going to the theatre (too many noisy and inconsiderate people, esp. cell phone gabbers) but for Bradley and Angelina, I’ll drag my family and go support all their upcoming movies this year.
I thought Babel would come out first, but I guess this is coming first since they are promoting it now. I haven’t seen any promo for Babel yet. The only time I go to the movies to see a non-kiddie movie is when it’s a Brad movie. Ask my husband - he knows. At least with this movie it’something he will be into. Brad is totally hot - I just absolutely love him. I remember seeing Legends of the Fall and barely being able to contain myself in front of my boyfriend, who is now my hubby. At least he’s understanding of my Brad obsession. He just laughs about it thank goodness!
#74 MelissaAs an avid lover of movies, I agree that going to the movies when the crowd is comprised of gum-chewing teenagers who are there to socialize, or the people who leave their cell phones on are extremely rude. Here’s a suggestion: don’t go on a Friday or Saturday night. If you can, go either at a matinee, even the late afternoon last matinee, or during the week, and not the first week the movie is out. Tuesday and Wednesdays are good evenings to go, Sunday mornings are great while everyone is in church, and late afternoon on the other days. That should make it easier to watch among adults who are also there solely for the movie.

I remember reading an interview with Brad Pitt back in 2002 where I specifically remember him saying "I keep asking Jen, when are we going to have babies?". That was just a year or twoafter they had gotten married. Way before he met Angie. I don’t think he would have left her if she had a baby or two. I think having kids was a big issue. # 103 Thanks JJ, I have a MAC and I wasn’t able to see the trailer until now. This movie is going to be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, I have the feeling that it will be in psychological-type western categories, which are rare and normally the best westerns. This year, Brad will star in two very different and challenging roles. In the trailer and the pictures, I just can feel the darkness that is sourrounding him. Thanks God now that he has the full control of his life and career, he can pick really challenging roles that will show to the whole world what a great actor he is.

Honestly I don’t care if Jennifer A’s movies get good reviews or not. I’m at the point where I can’t stand to look at her face. Now Brad Pitt’s face is a different story. I could watch him all day and all night long. Angie is the luckiest woman in the world.

Be careful with making JA into an object of pity or bashing. Maybe we should just leave her alone. Brad may be the type that will sympathize with his ex to the point where he takes up the knight in shining armor syndrome. He feels for underdogs so he might champion her cause and that could cause complications in his relationship with AJ. No matter what’s happened between them, they were married once and he had an affection for her. He would certainly feel guilt if JA does something stupid because of all the attention and the slow faltering of her career. JA may not want to stay in Malibu where she could run into the couple anytime once they come back so she is setting up shop in Chicago. It’s not only close to her BFF Oprah but where her sweetheart VV lives. Reckon she feels safe with them there. But even if she does and she still gets hounded by the paps and bombarded by the news about the happy couple, she could still break. The reason I feel sorry for her is with all that money, it still can’t seem to buy her happiness right now. She will need to insulate herself really well for when BP and family return to the US.

Brad and Angelina have their individual past and baggages. They have been together for over a year now and making the most out of their life with their children and their humanitarian causes. I for one would rather not discuss their past history with others since they are now very happy and awaiting their third child. We all learn from the past and we move forward and live today and do the best we can to make it worthwhile so that we can look forward to a bright future.

A former elementary school teacher and unrepentant pothead, she is now self-employed as a maid, a situation that on the surface bothers her friends more than it does her.Although Olivia’s lack of interest in upward mobility is a source of much concern to the others, they also have their problems. Apparently, what’s been whispered is true: Money doesn’t buy happiness. Though Jane’s latest clothing line is a huge hit, she’s a bundle of rage, one of those people who will not tolerate anything she considers bad behavior, including lane cutting in the grocery store and faulty parking lot manners.Then there’s the fact that everyone is convinced her husband is gay, mostly because he’s extremely well-groomed and exceedingly polite.Christine and David make an argument of everything, whether it’s the motivation of one of the characters in their script or the motivation of their friends or the motivations of each other. Complicating things further is a stressful home addition project that has alienated all their neighbors.As for Franny, who occupies herself with one fund-raising event after another, she has some free-floating anxiety about her own marriage. Her preoccupation with helping others is viewed here as her character flaw. It’s represented by her hooking up Olivia with her personal trainer (Scott Caan), who turns out to be an insensitive mooch. Naturally, Olivia falls for him.Although much of the humor is Los Angeleno-centric (as in the way housing prices make residents of the more expensive neighborhoods determined to retain their addresses even after they outgrow their homes), there’s nothing here that will confound those who shop at Target as opposed to the boutiques that carry Jane’s clothes.What is somewhat more difficult to comprehend is exactly what Holofcener is looking to say about these people that isn’t obvious.Holofcener spends her time between film projects working on classier TV series, including the late "Six Feet Under" and "Sex and the City" and "The Gilmore Girls," which is probably the reason "Friends with Money" is shaped as it is.It takes place in a world where issues are not wrapped up neatly, but where some sort of resolution is assured. Those shows, of course, engage us through characters. We want to know what will happen to them after the week’s dilemmas. Movies, on the other hand, should feel complete unto themselves, and "Friends with Money" is not a finished portrait, just a disposable snapshot of people we’re less than invested in.
