Namibia has become the subject of huge interest in the US since the arrival of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, according to the country’s US ambassador. "The Namibian embassy in Washington DC has been inundated with calls from the US media and individuals," said Hopelong Ipinge. The film star couple arrived in the south African country in early April with Jolie’s two adopted children. Jolie, who is eight months pregnant, is expected to give birth there. It will be an honour for Namibia to become the birthplace of her child," Ms. Ipinge said. She added that some American TV stations has asked for Namibian tourism marketing videos after requests from viewers.

Vintage Brad Pitt, anyone? Brad Pitt made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno back on November 21, 2001. Brad starred in a series of skits to promote Spy Game and in this particular sketch, he tried to get people to watch his film. One old man refuses to watch the film and Brad asks if there’s anything he could do to change his mind. It then cuts to the two of them in bed and a naked / shirtless Brad asks, "Now are you going to watch the film?", the old man replies, "maybe."

# 38 | Tish | Hey Tish, I am leaving on the 12th of June and I have internet access. If you wish I’ll give you my cell number in Turkey before I leave and can give you daily updates from JJ :)Alos, in Bodrum practically every street has an internet cafe, you walk in for very little cost you can login for an hour, just a suggestion.BTW- re:JA, I think this makes most us BAMZ fans different than the haters. We love this family dearly, but it doesn’t stop us for having a some sympathy for the others…
I just watched the Jay Leno clip and the tears are still rolling down my face. Brad is too funny for words.
Thanks Guli! I’ll keep that in mind.
estelle…yes im good thank you, very tired i didnt get in til 3:45 and had to get up at 7:15! very hard day, almost fell asleep many times! all worth it tho.
Brad is cute and this is such a funny picture.Love BAMZ+1
# 46 | Estelle Okay…see, that’s what I was wondering yesterday, but I guess with the way I phrased my question that aspect didn’t get addressed. I really can’t stand Clooney, so I had no idea that he was active in this kind of humanitarian work at all. So PHIL ANTHROPist answered that part of my question, but no one ever said if he’d gone into the field before. IIRC technically all Clooney and the ‘rent did was go hang out for a week and see the strife first-hand. They didn’t pitch in and do any actual work, did they?
medulla… thanks so much… if you email me on: haveitonaplate@yahoo.co.ukill tell you my address! you really are a true star!
# 48 | em That was my thought on Spy Game, too. BP has always come off like Redford to me and if you watch "Spy Game" it’s very obvious. It was like Redford was looking in a mirror and seeing himself 20-25 years earlier. It’s a good movie, too, so anyone who hasn’t seen it may want to add it to their list of BP movies to catch up on.
That skit was absolutely hilarious!Brad definitley has a nitch for comedy. I always did think that ‘The Mexican’ was one of his best.As for ‘Friends with money’ I have heard that the movie was written very well and that the acting was pretty decent but Aniston did not give the strongest performance in the cast. That honor goes to Ms. Keener. But still the movie has only manage to rake in 5.3 million dollars and its been out how long now? What? Two weeks. That doesn’t bode well for Ms. Aniston whom they gave top billing to. While I am not a fan, I don’t hate her. I actually wish her well, but I can only wonder what she will blame the failure of this movie at the box office on, or should I say who?As to ‘Atlas Shrugged’ I figure it can’t be worst than any of the other epics:AlexanderTroyKingdom of HeavenDances with WolvesThe Merchant of VeniceBraveheartTitanicEnglish PatientDuneAmistadJFKSaving Private Ryanand that’s just a small few. Some made money while others didn’t but eh…who really cares? The actors are paid and those who enjoy epics go see them.
I love Spy Game, music is fantastic.
This is a letter that appeared in The Namibian online - credit to Quietmind25 at bradforumsI WAS shocked to read the report of the idiot hoax "bodyguards" who recently sprayed the interior of a nightclub in Swakopmund with pepper spray. What sort of mentality of person would even contemplate doing something so ridiculous? Obviously this resulted in chaos breaking out and upsetting the customers. What would the outcome of such a foolish prank have been had this resulted in the death of an asthma sufferer? Angelina has returned to Swakopmund because she loves Namibia and so enjoyed the fact that she could previously move around freely here, without being hassled by media and pranksters. The fact that she has brought Brad and the children with her on this occasion is an indication that she is hoping to receive the same treatment once again.Let us be proud in Namibia that famous people such as Brad and Angelina are happy to visit our country and in doing so, are bringing fame and fortune to wherever they choose to stay. However the acts of foolish pranksters and inquisitive, obnoxious members of the community will only drive these people away, never to return to a country that previously permitted them to go about their daily lives in peace. Our daughter lives in America and she is proud to know that famous people from her part of the world are so happy to visit her hometown in the hope that they might enjoy the free and easy way of life that she remembers as a child. Please leave Brad and Angelina and their family alone to enjoy our country and let’s stop speculating as to what they are going to do next - that is their business.S Southworth Swakopmund
# 56 | Passing Through -like I said before, he has never been out on the field before…at least I have not seeing any documentaries or articles written about him out there….I know that BP had several humanitarian trips under his belt…so, this is all a new thing for GC. We can all donate money and signed up supporting certain organizations, but to go out on the field, I am sure many of us here has not done so…therefore, I was suprise, as you are, that GC suddendly has this urged to jump on the bandwagon….but, as I see it, if he can get some attention to this or if he can help, then I am all for him to do so.
# 59 | teehee You do not want to get me started on "Dances With Wolves". That has got to be one of the worst movies ever made. I know it won an Academy Award for Best Picture, but I figure the voters were all stoned and drunk that year. It’s the only explanation I can come up with.
# 54 | Lady Stef, LCA-I was going to tell you that someone was looking for you yesterday, she said that she got the people magazine for you and she needs your info. I guess you’ve got the message. Go to sleep, get some rest, I am sure it’s very late over there…see you!
# 62 | Estelle Maybe he’s feeling more kindly disposed towards others now that he has that BSA Oscar. I don’t think the guy can act his way out of a wet paper bag, but I don’t belong to the Academy and didn’t get to vote!
im happy for angie and brad wish them the best angie and brad 4 ever toghther
# 61 | Lola | Hi Lola very nice post!!! Out of curiousity how do folks in Namibia feel in general about their stay in your country?
# 59 | teehee -I like Kingdom of Heaven, Dune( the series on SF channel is better than the movie)and Braveheart…;), but don’t start with me on titanic or dances with wolves…I fell asleep in both movies…I don’t how some woman saw titanic 50 times?…

# 67 | guli I’m not from Namibia. I’m from Boston, USA. LOL The letter from the Namibian woman was posted on Bradforums.net by Quietmind 25. I just adore Brad & Angie and enjoy finding tidbits (non-tabloid related) and posting them for other like-minded fans. Long live the Jolie-Pitts
estelle, yeah i got the message today, shame i missed her i hope she finds my message to her. its about 10pm over at the mo, im on my second wind at the mo, hypo as you like! i was supposed to go out again tonight but i thought that was pushing it a abit too far, as have a very busy day at work tomorrow! i cant wait to see the rest of angie interview, she was really looking good in the first part, so much so for people saying she looks unhealthy, she is positively glowing! chanel…me too!
thank you so much for feeling sorry for me I really need it because to be honest I really love Brad but I just thought I would be able to do a few movies and then have kids-When I have kids I want to dedicate the rest of my life to them-I ever wanted to be a working mom because what’s the point. I feel many people have mis-understood my goals and intentions-I do owe a lot to my fans, but my life is my life-Brad is a good guy but he has faults too just like any other man. Vince and I will not marry or have kids together, we just found each other at this time-I wish Angelina and Brad Happiness-She didn’t steal my husband we were over a long time ago-we drifted apart-Regardless of what you feel and say I too am human-me
As far as charity work in Africa by famous people goes, AJ has inspired a lot of people to do something either directly or indirectly. She may or may not have said anything to GC directly but with all the press she gets for it, some other celebrities are jumping on the bandwagon. Some celebs will really be helpful to the cause and others will be helping their own public image because helping Africa has become a tredy thing to do in Hollywood. I have mixed feelings about it because on the one hand all publicity–whether for selfish or unselfish reasons–raises awareness, but on the other too many Lindsay Lohans and Jessica Simpsons will take the seriousness off of the cause. The general public might start getting dismissive of those who really do care because the fluff of Hollywood is sullying the honorable intentions of those like AJ, Bono, etc. GC may be doing this to really help, I don’t know, personally I don’t care for him, but he always seem to be involved in world issues so he may be genuine. I guess the only real way to tell those who are helping because they care from those who are helping because they care about their image is to see who sticks around when the trendiness dies down and who still will be fighting on the front lines even when they don’t have a project to promote. I guarantee you if Lindsay Lohan doesn’t have an album, movie or perfume to promote, you won’t hear about her flying to Africa to help anyone.
# 65 | Passing Through - I agree with you on that# 71 | stef -I know, some people are just blind I tell you, they are too blind to see the beauty of AJ and the good in her.
70 | Lola | Sorry, by the way I love Boston, is that dig done yet, crap that is the only reason I hated coming to Boston, my ex was a Bostonian, I especially love Harvard square and the book stores. OK, I MUCKED up since I have my copy of my People Mag in my hand, I just skimmed thru your message. But, I wish someone would log in to JJ from Namibia. Sorry for the confusion :) People really did a nice job on our couple!
