…And the Oscar Goes To…"Brad Pitt, Babel! Rachel Weisz, last year’s winner for best supporting actress, smiled broadly in their direction. Angie’s heart was leaping out of her chest, as she turned to look in Brad’s direction, and gave that delighted infectious laugh of hers that never failed to draw an answering laugh from Brad. She was so incredibly proud and happy, he knew in that moment she was actually happier for him, than he was for himself. Love. His familiar reaction, to having her so near, was to reach out and clasp her slim nape bringing those full beautiful lips to his own. He stood up to thunderous applause, whistles and shout-outs from his peers. Their respect for him as an actor, producer and humanitarian apparent and effusive, as the extended and loud reaction filled the Kodak. Still holding Angie’s hand he brought it to his lips for a quick kiss, gave it one last squeeze and proceeded the short distance to the stage. He was blocked on his way up by his buddy George who grabbed him in a fierce bear hug, and practically lifted him off his feet. There’s was a close friendship born of similar upbringings, good times and aspirations — both men, from their very first day in Hollywood had sought to be more than their 8 x 10 glossy (as ‘Tyler Durden’ might say), and to inject real meaning into their lives, be it politically, socially, and/or in creating a family to nurture. Slapping him on his back, he sent him up. George turned and winked at Angie, and heard her answering giggle, he rushed back to her and gave her a quick hug.Reaching the podium, Brad playfully, called out ‘Hey, hey, hey, HEY! Back in your seat buddy!’ The crowd erupted in amused delight, ham that he was - George played along, holding up his hands in the ‘I’m innocent’ pose, then quickly and sheepishly moved to plant himself in his own row. The camera panned to Angie, who was covering her flushed face in her hands and shaking her head, her smile so beautiful as to make the onlookers gasp in wonder."Thank you, thank you so much for this - I’d like to say first how proud I am of this film, and how honored I was to be a part of something that’s both topical and a statement for the perilous times we find ourselves in now. It’s about unity and humanity, and faith…in each other. Hope. So to the entire cast of actors who told their character’s stories of hope with such feeling and moved me to tell mine as well, I thank you. Cate Blanchett, my friend, I was astounded by your talent and your graciousness, and I’m up here because of what you gave me in Babel, so thank you. To my fellow cast who I didn’t share screen time with, but who contributed to the this beautiful film - thank you; Gael García Bernal,Jamie McBride,Kôji Yakusho and Lynsey Beauchamp. To the captain, thank you Alejandro Innaritu, a director who is as inspiring, as he is motivating, as he is endearing - your vision is what got us here. Finally, to the love of my life who was right there waiting for me on cool Moroccan evenings, when I came out of the desert - literally and figuratively…I thank you. I have the sun, moon, and stars at home - everything else is just gravy now. I love you baby. To my son Mad, who’s staying up late to watch (Brad does a signature move, sticking his tongue out - as if to say ‘Heh-hey, look what we got!’) I love you buddy, now bedtime! (Audience laughs loudly and applauds) Goodnight everyone, thanks so much!"…and as the camera pans back to Angie, who has joyful tears running down her cheeks, even as she’s grinning so happily — the show goes to commercial. Cate Blanchett is seen making her way to the empty seat beside Angelina, embracing her, and offering tissue. The two women happily laughing and conversing. "Awwwww, Angie," Cate laughed, looking at Angie’s little pink nose and big watery eyes. "I warned him not to do this," Angie said jokingly."Oh my God, honey - but that was some speech, hunh?" Cate laughed, pulling more tissue from her purse."He is soooo gonna get it," Angie said, quite devilishly, and only half-joking."I’m sure he will, and I’m also sure he can’t wait!" Cate hugged her once again, and whispered, "See you at the party."Angelina gave a sigh, and wondered at this beautiful man who had made her dreams come true, dreams she didn’t even know she had. Then smiled secretly, it would be a night to remember, as were all their nights, every night…..

Your are here actively posting almost every time I stop by JJ.# 512 | passing thruogh+++++++++++++++++++++++Who says the name has anything to do with this site? Never make assumptions about people you don’t know. I am, like yourself, merely "passing through" this world. As a my good friend Stuart Smiley once said, "Think deep thoughts".

Here goes!May 27, 2006-Malibu California-Late eveningAs the purplish-red sunset laid down behind the Pacific, the tide swayed in and out near the beach house of Jennifer Anniston.Jennifer referred to this as her little beach house. This was the one thing that gave her solace in the wake of all that has happened. She sat on the terrace which surrounds three sides of her house, drinking wine and watching the waves dance lazily on the shore. “She’s here. My God I cannot believe this has happened.” She said as she took another sip of her wine. “Well Brad, you finally got what you wanted all along. Your perfect little family.” She thought to herself as tears welled up in the corners of her eyes. How many times she replayed London over and over in her head. Maybe if she would’ve just let it go, things would not have escalated this far. But she couldn’t. She pressed the issue because deep down inside she knew. It was undeniable. Brad was gone. Jen shifted her position, turned the next page in her book, and then it hit her. Twenty four months of anguish, pain, and heartbreak exploded in her heart and she curled herself up in a ball and cried like there was no tomorrow.“Um, hello. Yeah, this is Jen. Oh hey baby. Where are you?” Vince laid across the bed at his mom’s house. He felt like a teenager talking to his girlfriend, hoping no one was listening. “I’m at mom’s J. Hey I heard about the baby. You ok?” “ Of course, I told you I would be fine Vin. I really really am over Brad. I don’t care what he does. It’s just us now baby and that’s all I care about.” Vince rolled over and looked at the clock on the nightstand. “J you still up? It’s 2 am.” “Yeah I know. I was reading this great book and I sorta fell asleep out here. It’s so beautiful. You know how I love the ocean.” Vince loosened his belt.“Wellget some rest. You’re gonna need it when I get back.” Jennifer smirked. Her red swollen eyes showed a glint of light. “Oh really now. Vin, I am really puzzled, you know they gave that baby a biblical name. I can’t figure that. Brad said he’d never go back to such a stringent lifestyle. He never liked conforming you know. Oh, I’m sorry baby I really didn’t mean to go there”. Jen, twirled her hair with her fingers. “Look, I need to go inside. I’ll see you when you get back.” “Ok baby-good night” Vince said as he slipped off his pants and put some jeans on. He was restless. # 734 | malibumom | June 29, 2006 01:08 AM | Report Abuse

It was the premier. He couldn’t get it off of his mind. He sat on the bed looking around. His mom had just redecorated the house. A Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona daybed in chocolate leather was on one side of the room flanked by a Christian Liagre sofa in butter yellow. The ceiling fixtures were Fortuny. Usually his senses would have been heightened by such beauty, but he was distracted by the sheer madness of it all. “Man how did I get myself into this?” He said to himself as he slipped on his shoes and walked out on the balcony to smoke. He reached in his pocket and pulled the crumbled piece of paper out. He’d looked at it ten times since he left the doctor’s office. Nothing had changed. Nothing could change. As much as he wanted it to change, no amount of money could help him out of this. The early morning drive down PCH seemed surreal. The Pacific ocean was still dressed in a skirt of fog. “Good morning Miss Anniston”, the security guard on Seaver gave her a parking token and lifted the gate to let her in. “He seems rather stoic this morning,” she thought to herself. “Wonder if he knows about the baby?” Jen dismissed her thoughts and drove down Seaver to John Tyler Drive. Two students walking down the hill from Drescher, walked past her and across the parking lot towards the track. Jen, put her purse in the trunk, and her keys in her jacket as she headed in the same direction as the students. As she walked down the steep stairs to the track, she encountered a tall brown-haired male with dimples and blue eyes coming towards her on the stairs. “Good morning Miss Anniston”, the young man said as he passed her. “Hi.” She replied in a voice so low, he never heard her. “*****,” the student shot back loud enough for her to hear. She wanted to respond, but she was too tired. She stepped onto the track and started her slow walk. At least she would be safe here. Students were used to seeing her, Pam, Courtney and Britney all the time. But unlike them, she would forever be seen in a different light. By far she was now the worse half of the “golden couple”. She was the poor girl whose husband left her for the “hottest” woman in Hollywood: Box Office Poison as well as a host of other names. “Hi Jennifer”, the two girls she had seen earlier said. Jen mustered a half smile and said hello back. This time loud enough to be heard. She hastened her pace to a one-two beat. # 735 | malibumom | June 29, 2006 01:10 AM | Report Abuse

As bad as she wanted it to stop, she couldn’t dismiss the cadence in her mind. With each step, her mind counted the steps for her shi-loh, shi-loh. . .”Stop it just stop it” she said to herself. It was no use. She had to leave. Although photographers weren’t allowed on campus, there were too many celebrity kids around for her to have a melt down. Something warm and wet surfaced on her face. She was all too familiar with it. Her throat was still sore from last nights deluge of tears. Besides, she had a meeting to go to later and Vince would be back tonight.

Disclaimer: This story is pure fiction. I do not know any of the characters. This is my personal artistic expression. In no way is this story meant to hurt or offendIt was an hour before her interview. Vince tugged at Norm’s leash as they descended down the stairs to the beach. “The darkest hour is just before daylight J.” Vince put his hand around her as they walked slowly close to the shoreline. She was silent. Her heart was spent from last night. She’d promised herself that she would never look at the pictures when they came out. “Wonder if People would’ve paid that much for our baby”, she thought to herself. “So what’s our schedule for now?” Vince broke her train of thought which was a welcomed relief because she couldn’t get it out of her head. “ Uh, I’m not really sure. I’ve got a few more shoots to do and there’s this interview today. I’ll check with Stan.” Stan was her pet name for Huvane. Using the first two letters of his first name and the next to the last two in his last name, she ended up with something she could remember. Stan was also used as a code name to fool the Paps-who were so diligent at information gathering, she was convinced they could find Bin Laden. Vince knew she was lying to him last night when she said everything was fine. He always knew. It showed in everything they did, especially during intimate times. No matter how hard he tried. He just couldn’t make her body sing. But she was gracious. She was finally mastering the art of never showing her true feelings. As water bathed their feet with a mixture of suds, dirt and sand, they walked on in awkward silence. Shiloh infiltrated Jen’s mind and held it prisoner since the minute she took her first breath. Vince was encapsulated in that annoying piece of paper given to him by his longtime physician who swore he would never divulge the contents unless Vince gave him permission.“Good evening Miss Anniston. Please follow me and have a seat. He’s been waiting for you. Is there anything I can get you?”Fred’s office was typical. Beautiful furniture, plants everywhere, three major huge pictures on the wall flanked by a mirror or two topped off by several framed pictures on his desk. “How are you today? He reached his hand out. Jen thought, oh you really don’t want to know no do you. “May I call you Jennifer?” “Oh sure,” she replied. After all what else would he call her? “Big day coming up”, he started.

malibumom @ 06/29/2006 at 2:15 pm

“Are you nervous?” “No not really.” She gave him a sarcastic look, ready to ***** slap him if he so much as asked about it. “No, I mean I was glad to do this movie. Vince is really talented and he and the other guys were able to capture the essence of what men feel like. I think the thing about the boys that wrote it, you’re coming in and here’s three guys who are writing a story about a man and a woman who are having a breakup which I found impressive to begin with that three guys were doing that. And they said, ‘We need the female to come in and flesh out Brooke’s character and her voice and also the Addie friendship.’ Speaking of working with Brooke’s Character, she added, “I thought it would be more fun to be more active in her bad decisions and her inability to communicate and the game playing to sort of show the side of women that tend to be flawed. I think they’re both very equally flawed and that’s where they come to at the end of their journey together is that they realize if they just sat down and knew how to talk to each other it wouldn’t have eroded the way it did, which happens.” Damn! She did it again, the dreaded Brad reference. She missed Brad so desperately, never having anticipated the devastating effects her words would have. Karma wasn’t only a *****, she was a ruthless *****. Always making sure you got what you deserved and then some. After all, when you plant a seed, it doesn’t merely produce itself. It produces itself and all of its brothers and sisters until it envelopes the environment around it. “Well that’s all I need this time,” Fred said. Then He rose up to once again shake her hand. In his heart he wanted to hug her and tell her it would be ok.. But he couldn’t it would be way out of line. Besides, he really felt she brought on herself. As Jen left his office she noticed a magazine with Paris spread gracefully on the cover. “Why do I get crucified and she doesn’t? After all, her crotch is a weapon of mass destruction if there ever was one.” She exited the back of the building and of course her friends were there just snapping away. She didn’t care. She just wanted to go home, get in Norm’s bed and curl up and die.
