OlderBabel Movie
When Babel, the latest offering from Alejandro González Iñárritu, premieres at the Cannes Film Festival this month, it will be a remarkable moment for Mexican cinema. Before 2000, when the director’s debut, Amores Perros, took Cannes by storm, Mexican films were rarely seen by international audiences. This year, one of Babel ’s main competitors for the Palme d’Or will be Pan’s Labyrinth, by González Iñárritu’s compatriot Guillermo del Toro. That two Mexican films are competing for the most prestigious prize in world cinema is a measure of how far the Mexican industry has come in the past six years.

Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu’s drama Babel, starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal, is currently scheduled to show at Cannes on Tuesday, May 23 and open in limited release on Friday, October 6. That Aniston thread was taken over by people with nothing better to do then obsess over someone they supposidly dont like. Anyways, back to the real thread. This movie looks good with great actors. I cant wait to see it.

I would love to see this film. Gael is a fabulous actor, and I know Cate can bring it.As for Brad, I love him when he plays sensitive and conflicted characters. My favorite Brad films are:Legends of the Falls, Meet Joe Black (his voice was mesmerising), Seven, Mr.Mrs Smith.What are your favorites?
I don’t think his looks are fading at all. To me the man is improving with age. Don’t get me wrong I drooled over him when he was in his pretty boy faze but now he has the looks of a man and I’ll take that over pretty boy. Grrr…I blame AJ for this. If they had just stayed their asses in Nice they could have gone to this—regardless of her due date (remember, CZJ went to the AAs 8 months pregnant!)I mean, correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the first movie of his good enough to be in actual competition in Cannes, not just premiering there (like Troy). And he can’t go because he’s in freakin’ Namibia. She really bothers me.

#64 Brad is trying to do what is important to him right now. When Tom had Suri and he was still promoting his film, people said he should have stayed at home. People will have opinions but you have to stay true to who you really are. Brad is putting is money where is mouth is. People do not understand his values and morals like Angie said.
