Brad Pitt's Bike Ride
Brad Pitt was unable to make it this morning’s screening of his film Babel at the Cannes Film Festival. Babel is directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and also stars Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal. Brad, 42, sent his regards via email: "With the imminent arrival of the newest addition to our family, I am unable to join Alejandro, Cate, Gael and the rest of the cast and crew introducing the film. I am tremendously proud of Babel and want to congratulate everyone involved for this great achievement." Brad’s family — pregnant (?) Angelina Jolie, 30, son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 4, and daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 1 — are still with him on vacation in Namibia. More pictures added to this entry’s gallery from Brad’s Biking Adventure with Maddox and Zahara!

Volver and Babel lead Cannes cropBy Darren WatersBBC News entertainment reporter in CannesTwenty movies from around the world are competing for the Palme d’Or in Cannes. Which have made the biggest impression as the festival enters its final days? Two films - Pedro Almodovar’s Volver and Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu’s Babel - are emerging as the critics’ favourites at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. In Volver, starring Penelope Cruz, two sisters have to rely on each other after the death of their mother and after one of the siblings murders her abusive husband.Penelope Cruz has been widely praised for her role in VolverAlmodovar touches on many of his favourite themes - such as womanhood and matriarchy - using his favourite device of farce but leaving out the overt transexualism which is the hallmark of his past work.Inarritu’s film Babel centres on the relationship between parents and children. Two tourists - Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett - face tragedy in Morocco, while in Los Angeles and Mexico their nanny inadvertently puts their children in danger and in Japan a schoolgirl struggles to deal with the suicide of her mother."The competition on the whole has been very strong," said critic Derek Malcolm, of London’s Evening Standard.’Best work’"Everybody realises that Volver is a very good Almodovar film. Most people would be very happy for him to win the Palme d’Or."Almodovar has never won the Palme d’Or although he was shortlisted in 1999 for All About My Mother."Volver was really well done. Penelope Cruz was very good," agreed Jay Stone, film writer for the Canadian News Service."Volver is way out in front. It is the best thing Pedro Almodovar has done," said Richard Mowe of the Irish Examiner.Babel: "Brilliantly filmed and acted" said the critics"It is a sum total of all his previous work with all his previous themes coming together."Babel has also had a strong reception.Mr Stone said: "It was really strong and the most emotional and involving film I have seen so far."It was the most confident in terms of the story telling. I like almost everything about it.""Babel pushed all the right buttons," agreed Mr Mowe. "It has all the contemporary themes which are to be applauded."Confident debutSiegfried Mortkowitz, of Deutsche Presse-Agentu, said: "Babel was brilliantly filmed and acted. It was the kind of film you have to go back to see it again because it was very profound."British film Red Road impressed many as a confident debut by director Andrea Arnold. The movie is a bleak tale of obsession set in Glasgow where a grieving wife and mother is drawn into the world of the man who killed her family as she sees him on a CCTV camera. The critics were universal on the biggest flop of the festival - Richard Kelly’s Southland Tales, a postmodern, fragmented tale of the future of the United States.Moretti’s Il Caimano is critical of former Italian PM Silvio BerlusconiMr Malcolm said it was "terrible", while Mr Stone said it was "self-indulgent - throwing everything onto the screen and hoping some of it will stick".Nanni Moretti has shown his latest movie Il Caimano in competition.Moretti is one of the most celebrated Italian directors and received global acclaim for his last film, The Son’s Room, in 2001.Il Caimano, The Caiman, refers to Moretti’s view of former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi as a predator or crocodile. In the film an Italian director of repute struggles to get his latest film made due to the social and political climate of the times.Very rarely does the jury agree with the criticsDerek Malcolm"I was slightly disappointed in the Nanni Moretti film," said Mr Mowe."There were a lot of good things in there but it could not decide which sort of film it wanted to be."Still to screen is El Laberinto del Fauno (Pan’s Labyrinth) from Guillermo del Toro. But whatever the critics feel the strongest film to be, the decision on the winner of the festival prize, the Palme d’Or, is left to the jury. This year it is headed by director Wong Kar Wai and includes actors Monica Bellucci, Samuel L Jackson and Helena Bonham Carter.Mr Malcolm said: "Very rarely does the jury agree with the critics."These days the jury is full of actors and actresses. It is very difficult to know what they are going to go for."

you know X fans keep saying VV is funny and that they rather be around him, but they paint Brad to be a sad, serious person. But if you watch his movies, and the bloopers he is very good at comedy and funny. The kind of comedy he does is straight face kind of humor. VV’s kind of humor involves him ranting on endlessly. JMHO.
# 714 | guli-how are you?…I’m playing the catch up game…I’m still reading page 6-7….Cindy2 is killing me with her post…so many good post for me to read. Anyhooo….I’m afraid to refresh the main page to see another set of VV and x or to turn on the tv….they are every where on TV, on the news, they will be on my weekly entertainment magazine…no!!!!…I’m afraid to go home..(*bitting fingers*)…we are in pure hell..
guli you can share video .I am working now on another . but I am little tired maybe I finish it tomorrow
HI LADY STEFAFRICAN GIRLThe videos are great , good job.If AJ has the baby between 02 and o4 that’s really great all that Maniston has done to the couple it’s like payback time, the baby is already fighting for her or his parents and you know Mabiston cannot win this one, the cute baby will get all the attention and love around the world.
Hey everyone,I’m in Marseille… no baby yet!?!? Can’t stand this suspense :)
# 715 | me | ITAEstelle I just turnend ET on and there is the X and VV so I turned it off and came to JJ’s.BTW- I never go to the X threads. Has anyone mentioned to them that BP and AJ probably have already spent more time together in 18 months compared to BP and the X in 41/2 years of marrige :) They are bonding and nesting as a family which makes a good solid foundation before they both have to go back to their obligations. I truely admire them. Keeping my fingers crossed for a healthy baby and for Babel to win (and TBU to flop, OK that was below the belt, but didn’t log on all day, need to get it out of my system) :)
I went on Splash news website to watch the tomkat video they have on there. Anyway, there’s a video of JA and the paprazzi shouted "Are YOU EXCITED BRADS HAVING HIS BABY THIS WEEK?". lMAO The paparazzi are jerks. # 639 | Lmao——————————-So that’s why she always look misserable on pictures…..you know..the girl might even be really over the entire "triangle"….if only she could pretend the paps didn’t bother her…oh wait…it’ll never happen…that requires good acting….LOL.
# 719 | Be sane -Bonsoir from California…how are you?…no baby yet….I’m sure when they have the baby…all the internet in the worlds will crash, fire works and bells will rings all over the worlds.(ok that was me dreaming).
# 719 | Be sane | You are making us all jealous. I hope you are having a blast. Count your lucky stars you could be hear reading the trolls go crazy, the closer it gets the worse they get. Of course, the news re Babel is another thorn on their sides. We miss you when will you be back?
HI BESANEWhat’s up? how is your vacation girl?Don’t worry go to bed nothing will happen tonight, yes the suspense is killing us all but it’s also fun in a way we never seen anything this big worldwide.Bonne nuit BESANE.
