Brad Pitt's Bike Ride
Brad Pitt was unable to make it this morning’s screening of his film Babel at the Cannes Film Festival. Babel is directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and also stars Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal. Brad, 42, sent his regards via email: "With the imminent arrival of the newest addition to our family, I am unable to join Alejandro, Cate, Gael and the rest of the cast and crew introducing the film. I am tremendously proud of Babel and want to congratulate everyone involved for this great achievement." Brad’s family — pregnant (?) Angelina Jolie, 30, son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 4, and daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 1 — are still with him on vacation in Namibia. More pictures added to this entry’s gallery from Brad’s Biking Adventure with Maddox and Zahara!

876 | stardust - Thanks. Come on Angie, your turn now :) lol
Why are US ‘celebrity medical professionals’ so vocally against AJ having her baby in NamibiaBeing in the profession myself , I can understand that so long as a sterile environment is set up, you can have a baby pretty much anywhere, safelyNamibia from my understanding is one of the wealthier countries within Africa, and I find it belittles Brangelina’s intelligence, plus offends medical professionals in the Third world to make it such a No-No to give birth there, at allFirst time mothers are clinically more prone to complications, but I’m sure that a professional medically trained sophisticated medical team is available locallyPracticing Medicine in the third world , does not mean men in loin clothes, working in mud huts. With AIDS so rife, staff would have to use more stringent measures to ensure patient safety
# 878 | Jinx - I have an answer for that, because of jealousy, if Brad and Angie had stayed in Malibu, one of those doctors that supposedly delivered babies for the stars might have been the one to deliver little baby Jolie-Pitt.Did you get this from Ted C. Column? I don’t understand why these people won’t leave Brad and Angelina alone.
interesting article about an x-writer for "friend" views on JA and cast.http://www.insidebayarea.com/bayarealiving/ci_3867672
# 875 -ok, too lazy to correct mistake… :)
#878 |Jinx|-What you stated is just what proves that they are not professionals at all. They sayng things like Brad and angelina are living in the middle of the jungle.Plus Africa was the continent in which doctors accomplished the first sergury of open heart.
JJ posted a new BP & AJ Thread
how come they don’t write about X and Vince as much as they do about Brad and Angelina? Because they sell more copies than X and Vince. Even the haters like to read the news about them and then rag on them. But many bamz+1 fans are simply not interested in X.It’s funny that in a business where they report about such emotional experiences in a person’s life like break-ups, divorces, marriages, births, deaths—- that they would be so cold hearted in their approach to writing about it and so cut - throat. So ironic.
Hi,I think these so called medical experts are trying to protect their turf. There is a feature in this week’s TIME magazine about the outsourcing of elective surgeries to the third word (India, Thailand, Malaysia,Singapore). The article followed a few Americans who went to have their life-prolonging surgeries in these countries, spend only a fraction of the cost and enjoy being pampered while recuperating. With BAMZ having their baby in Africa, it’s like free advertising that its ok to get medical help anywhere in the world.
Hey Guys,Busy Friday….but I still managed to surf the net and I’m glad you guys are discussing this medical expert’s take on Nambian birth.NonaI agree with you, they’re protecting their turf. I mean, how many Namibian women have had children, is having children and will have children in the hospitals? So why the big deal now? Well, it is BP and AJ afterall, these two will be criticized for breathing. Honestly, what have they done that’s never been done? The manner in which the press is picking on them is getting ridiculous. The so called medical experts should worry about finding cures for the many diseases out there instead of where AJ & BP are having their baby.
AG…I totally agree. Maybe these medical professionals are not PRO themselves. It is also unethical & rude to be critical on other health care workers like that. You are in the same field of work & these so-called doctors are from the good old USA they should be more supportive of what was going on outside their turf. I think this is misconception that Third World Countries are not good or at par when it comes to health care. I am hoping Brad & Angelina could mispell this idea.
Alas, with the settling of the dust by my arrival, I feel as if I’m belaboring the point, but what the hell, I have things to say…# 826 | African Girl"I’m begining to think that when we don’t have the trolls to fight off, we turn on ourselves."I’m with you on that - and most everything else really. When I come on late, often I feel as if I’m an outsider because the fun interplay is among the day crew. Now, don’t misread what I’m saying. I’m not feeling left out or else I could easily join the day crew (that self-imposed day prohibition is a steadfast rule I want to stick by). (The night crew is smaller, with usually just my buddy Malaya to keep me company.) Instead, this outsider perspective gives me a different read than if I were part of the exchanges - good or bad. I get disappointed when I see the in-fighting, as when it occurred with Frenchy and especially, Agnieszka. Both are clearly BAMZ fans, who sometimes may not be cool with everything Brad and Angie do, but have proven themselves in the trenches against the haters. And honestly, who would be clones of Brad and Angie’s opinions, if you actually have your own independent mind? Certainly, I wouldn’t want to surround myself with people automatically rubberstamping everything I think or say. Everybody needs checks and balances. It’s good to have dissent cause oftentimes, even the minority view may be the most convincing and proper. (Majority rules is not an absolute, which explains the electoral college system of presidential elections.) And I would bet both Brad and Angie would like people to support and agree with their causes and viewpoints, not because they are simply celebrities or your idols, but their positions make sense and the inherent points in those positions are sound and solid. It’s a simple Siddhartha principle that truer followers come not from dogma and indoctrination but acceptance through critical thinking and examination. (Sorry, I find the whole Da Vinci Code backlash to be a joke - not only because the book is FICTION but mainstream institutions should allow themselves to be subjected to critical analyses and critique. Unless they are a house of cards, institutions with strong foundations shouldn’t have a problem in holding up to any scrutiny. In a sense, I see the union of Brad and Angie strong enough to withstand the irrational backlash and judgements, where others might crumble - hello, Paul and Heather.) There are different degrees of understanding and sensitivities in how people express themselves. For people whose English is not their first language, often they may come off blunt when it’s only because they haven’t grasped the nuance and tone of words completely. And then, there are some who are by culture or nature blunt and direct. While further, there are those who react to differing opinions with little tolerance and with knee-jerk anger. I know many were offended by Agnieszka because of her forceful opinions, but she’s not the first on either side to be so passionate or emotional. I’ve seen snide responses by BAMZ fans directed at another. And even I’ve been on the receiving end of such curtness. But I had to keep the big picture in mind and let it slide. I can be unyielding with haters, but it’s not that important to me to have the upper hand with people I’m in alliance. Then, I’ve had run-ins with a woman who would make Agnieszka look like a career diplomat. (Agnieszka, I don’t mean to make an example of you as a poorly behaved fan because as I said, I actually didn’t take any offense at your strong arguments.) Yet, I gave her that slack in understanding, but I also made sure to nip her aggressive opining in the bud by telling her that she needn’t force herself down our throats. She took my tactful advice to heart, and backed down. Funny thing, my initial exchanges with her were acrimonious, as we were on opposite sides of arguments. And she didn’t endear herself to the fans at large. She was patronizing and her dismissive messages dripped with sarcasm. As rarely life is static, we somehow eventually drifted onto the same side of other arguments. Since I recognized her distinctive writing style, I knew exactly everything she posted, but she didn’t of mine - as we were posting anonymously. In an entertainment forum, she was constantly badgered and viciously attacked (well, because she rarely came on gently). Nevertheless, my protective nature kicked in, and I came to her aid. She had never apologized to me or expressed any contrition for our past run-ins because for one, I never ever let on to her about our past confrontations. My support led to a brief email relationship until her overbearing nuttiness became too much for even me to handle anymore (it wasn’t as if her true colors weren’t always on the surface, but no regrets on my part). The point is we can give room for strong opinions on BOTH sides and not take offense so we can cease cutting each other down, gloating or doing anything else to wound the dignity we all were born with. We should remind ourselves which side we’re on and stop expecting everybody to have the same opinions or actions. Jeeze, it reminds me of a homeowner’s association with all the conformist crap that I absolutely abhor. (I have a story of that which would further tie in with the biking safety debate, but I’m kinda tapped out of writing another essay for now. Suffice to say, I left a homeowner speechless as I basically told him to STFU as he tried to wave that covenant crap on me.) If you’re not familiar with a poster’s name, do a quick search and check out some of that person’s posts. Don’t be so quick to be argumentative and be offended. Believe me, it can be done. And I’m not any highly emotionally evolved person, as I have my petty, defiant streak, but I’ve done it many times over. Suck it up, and let it go. Oddly enough, the ones I had the easiest time coming to friendly truces were guys. I don’t know if that says anything about the tendency of some women to be catty, but it seems to me, guys can get it all out and move on. On a last aside, I’m reminded of a school of thought among some war scholars and historical empires that to prevent or minimize the circumstances for the making of a rebellion, victors shouldn’t humiliate the losers - as often the losers still outnumber the victors. Smoother transitions without breakouts of civil unrest are best had when the conquered are incorporated into the running of the new society and not subjugated. Just food for thought. P.S. Daniel, your heart was in the right place and I know characters such as the sneaky Sam and pitchafit have confused us as to the true fans. Just take a moment to refer to any unfamiliar poster’s previous posts to get a better read of if that person is a fan or not. # 829 | Maniston"Anyway lets stop fighting with fellow BAMZ+1 fans and save our energy for the Fanistons."I’m so glad you’re part of the team, Maniston!! Level-headed with the fans, but bitchy when needed with the haters. By bitchy, I mean it in the good ol’ Bette Davis fashion and not that woeful, twisted version corrupted by the haters. I first saw your name in one of the X threads where I caught your challenge to haters to bring their A game on to stump us. Then you began to post on the BAMZ threads. Have you been with this blog long as a lurker? # 830 | JinxOkay, Jinx, this isn’t a dispute as I do see everything has been resolved, but it offers me an opportunity to extoll AG’s virtues, so please allow for my indulgence. Thanks. African Girl isn’t trying to mind control anybody. She’s instead reminding us of the greater good of our support for BAMZ and we shouldn’t be attacking our own. It’s enough to keep the haters at bay with their nonsense than to take out one-by-one our own. I mean, what are we trying to achieve? Cannabalization cause there aren’t any haters to feed on? Down, potheads, I said cannabalize and not cannabais. (Sorry for the bad pun, as I actually hate pun jokes.) As far as I’m concerned, African Girl has become one of our elder statesman of this blog with keeping it lively and helping to keep the haters in check. I think she’s earned the right to voice her concerns when it impacts how we act with each other or anything else. I said this before and I’ll say it again, you keep doing what you’re doing with your bad self, AG!! Sometimes, I’m too damn tired to bother, y’know!
# 875 | Estelle"sound very sweet this dessert/candy/jelly…I will try to find it, just for fun of it."Okay, Estelle, here’s what you should do instead. Go to any Asian market. I believe you live in the Los Angeles area so that shouldn’t be difficult to find. Follow the Asians and stalk an Asian, if you must - you know, sort of like in the busy holiday season, stalking a shopper exiting a store to her car in the parking lot so you can get that parking spot. From there, go to the canned fruits section and get yourself a can of lychees in syrup. It may be harder to find the lychee fruit in natural form. Besides, for a lychee virgin, it’ll be easier for you to eat the canned version instead. There’s a lot of peeling with the natural form lychee. If you happen to like the canned lychee, I would guarantee you’ll like the lychee gels IF they are the same as the ones I reminisce about cause it’s all about the taste of lychee. I’m not sure how to describe but to approximate it to maybe pineapple without the tartness. They do sell the gels in smaller containers. I think there are quart-sized quantities. # 885 | NonaNona, I saw a story on 60 Minutes about the outsourcing of medical treatments in Thailand and India. It was very interesting and it was not only a commentary about the state of US health insurance and runaway medical costs, but the breakneck development of so-called third-world countries in catching up with Western medicine. Because of the bureaucracy of American medicine, oftentimes, cutting edge medical technologies and treatments are discovered in other countries. Look at France’s face transplant - first of its kind and successful, might I add.
# 833 | Nona First, hello, Nona. It’s always a welcome sight to my eyes to see our lurkers come out to make themselves known. "I won’t even try to name names. I don’t want to leave out anybody."Man, I learned that early on because invariably names would be neglected and I hate to slight anybody. So, I’ve stopped coming on with my specific hellos unless I’m returning a greeting. And I’ve tried to cut back my welcoming as sometimes I leave some newbies out unintentionally. Or I’ll be so exuberant, I’ll be welcoming people who have been on this blog for quite some time already. I think I did that with Susie, who I’ve learned after-the-fact has been here for several months. Can’t say things get past me, huh? ;)
Hi everyone.. I cant believe that I’m coming on here now and it’s almost 2:30 in the morning but I literally passed out as soon as I came home from work and I just woke up about half hour agao and cant sleep. lolThx everyone for the compliment and Rica when are you going to update?I feel everyone about the TBU comment.. normally I might have gone to see it just for VV but little miss "pity" comment the other about it’s not realistic to have a family in one year pissed me off to no end, I’m not about to waste my money on that ****. It doesnt even look funny..
# 891 | BluMystique-Rica did update today at the usual thread, but you should go to the rumors thread as well, we have several new fic post
Does anybody notice that although Wedding Crashers made a little more than 200 mil in domestic boxoffice, it only made 280 mil total worldwide? (including US). I think the same thing will happen with TBU. Whatever it makes in the US, that will be the main revenue. Not like big action movies.
# 888 | cindy2 Yes, I’ve been around for a while. I actually used to post under a different name, Lola. As Lola, I tried to ignore the Fanistons but some of them are just too twisted for color tv and deserve to be bitched slapped hard and often. So…I became Maniston and put Lola on the shelf. Now after today’s talk about TBU I went to rottentomatoes.com to read reviews (only 2 posted) but instead became more interested in what the members had to say about J. Maniston as a movie star. A couple of people wrote about the "hollywood machine" determined to push her down our throats until we say, as member nvadr wrote, "we give, she is the best actress on the earth!"But to me the most interesting comments came from "piperinger" who wrote:"JA needs to bring something to the table, besides accolades from her TV work. Some people have said that she’s the girl next door- maybe she is- in a MaryAnn/Gilligan’s Island kind of way, but she has to bring it, whatever the ‘it’ is that she’s purported to have. She can’t continue to coast because the Hollywood chicken****s keep pulling these manufactured Laguna Beach tricks into the spotlight. The star isn’t the whole show, no matter what the tabs and entertainment shows say. I love classic movies more than anything because people like Thelma Ritter, Claude Rains, Eve Arden, George Saunders, and dozens more weren’t the show like Garbo, Gable, Harlow and Crawford, but they brung it big time. They did their thing and became memorable and assets in their own right. And Rosalind Russell and Cary Grant… they were foils/second bananas to Jean Harlow and Mae West, respectively, but while no one was paying attention, they demonstrated the scope of their talents and were rewarded handsomely with long, respectable careers. They didn’t marry well, they didn’t let their personal lives define who they were. They worked. They had respect and perspective about what they were doing. They portrayed people we wished we were and knew.Authenticity is, supposedy, the order of the day today, but deep down, we want to see people that are larger than life, representing the best and worst parts of ourselves. Jennifer Aniston doesn’t fit any of the criterion, IMO, and aligning herself with people who are, like Vince Vaughn, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie just magnify her inadequecies."Piperinger, if you’re out there, I applaud you. Truer words never spoken
Well said African Girl. We are all fans of the BAMZ+1 so we just conitue to love them & give support to fellow fans as well. I have different opinion on the JA fans though. But just want to keep it to myself.
to BluMystique pity" commen about it’s not realistic to have a family in one year pissed me off to no end I picked up on the commet right away too, trying to put a dig at Brad and negate his family because it happen so fast.. Whata loser, "
to African Girl/BabyJinxi finally had the chance to see your videos on youtube. awesome! you are a woman with many talents. thanks so much for sharing!to BluMystiquefirst, you used one Make Me Whole, one of my favorite songs. and anyone who knows the work of Amel Larrieux is automatically one of the coolest people in the world in my book. second, the pictures you chose fit just right. i had to keep myself from crying. beautiful. beautiful. beautiful.
# 897 | gitaneGirl.. Make me whole is one of my ALL TIME Favorite songs ever. I think Amel is one of those great artist who doesnt get the recognition that she deserves but I hear she’s very big over seas. And I’m thinking of making a song vid for my other fav song of hers from that album. "Even If" do you remember that song?
hey guys I was wondering I was reading an old article and read that Jenn filed for divorce so quickly when you know she seems to have not wanted the divorce, so what do you think spurred her to do it so quickly instead trying to hang on and work for her man? Any idea’s? I would not give Brad up so quickly without a fight, I wonder why she did?
# 894 | Maniston Thank you for the post about TBU. I think your analysis of the talent of X is dead on. Also, unfortunately for her, she has a rather monotone voice - not too bad for a half hour show, not so much for a 2 hour movie. Know what I don’t get? She always seems so afraid - why does she want the attention so badly? Most people who are afraid try to avoid the spotlight like crazy. I just don’t get it.
