Brad Pitt's Bike Ride

Brad Pitt's Bike Ride

Brad Pitt was unable to make it this morning’s screening of his film Babel at the Cannes Film Festival. Babel is directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and also stars Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal. Brad, 42, sent his regards via email: "With the imminent arrival of the newest addition to our family, I am unable to join Alejandro, Cate, Gael and the rest of the cast and crew introducing the film. I am tremendously proud of Babel and want to congratulate everyone involved for this great achievement." Brad’s family — pregnant (?) Angelina Jolie, 30, son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 4, and daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 1 — are still with him on vacation in Namibia. More pictures added to this entry’s gallery from Brad’s Biking Adventure with Maddox and Zahara!

What happened?

This is so unsafe……if he couldnt find a helmet leave z at home….. and to the idiot who said he was riding in sand.lol what a fool…This family is so over rated

I HAVE TO CONFESS I am jealous of Angelina Jolie. She is beautiful. she has Brad and they are both rich. I do have a husband and family so I am happy, but gosh I am such a nobody…lol…hey you guys, quit sayong Jennifer is almost 40, I am 42, Brads age, I have 3 kids and I am aging well. I am Angies height and shape 9minus the boobs and beauty ( hehe) and when my kids popped out my belly just went back in to place like hers will. Once she has this baby you wont even know she was pregnant,

Cannes Updates @ 05/24/2006 at 9:18 am

http://film.guardian.co.uk/cannes2006/story/0,,1781743,00.htmlLatinos make a big noise at CannesMark Brown in CannesWednesday May 24, 2006The GuardianBrad sent his apologies because he and Angelina were still waiting for the baby, but other big guns were wheeled out to praise a movie that yesterday swept the Cannes audience off its feet.Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Babel was shown for the first time and demonstrated the strength of Latin American movie-making. It became favourite in many eyes to win the top prize in the competition, the Palme D’Or - and possibly Oscars next year.Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett and Mexican heartthrob Gael Garcia Bernal joined other members of the cast to talk about Babel, which is told in the same inter-linked storytelling style to the director’s previous films, Amores Perros and 21 Grams. For Blanchett it was not the most immediately appealing role - she spends most of the time dying in a pool of blood. During filming the crew put meat juice on her fake wound to attract flies from an empty water bottle. But she hailed the film a "masterpiece". Pitt had been due to attend but sent an email apology because of his and Angelina Jolie’s imminent arrival in Namibia. The film involves linked stories in Tokyo, Morocco and the US-Mexican border. In Japan a father cannot get through to his rebellious, deaf teenage daughter. In Morocco, Pitt is torn apart trying to save his wife (Blanchett), shot by a young boy. In the US a nanny feels compelled to take her charges from their comfortable home in San Diego to her son’s wedding over the border. In Cannes there were representatives from all three casts, including two young Moroccan boys who play central roles but had no previous acting experience. "We all just met," Bernal told journalists. "I guess we’ve talked to you more than we have to each other."Iñárritu said he chose Morocco because when he was younger he spent 15 days there with $100. "I had beautiful powerful memories." He added: "I fell in love with Japanese culture and civilisation, the mysteries, the contradiction between the futuristic and traditional."Babel is one of two Mexican films in competition - Guillermo del Toro’s El Labertino del Fauno shows on Friday - and along with the work of Alfonso Cuaron and Carlos Reygadas, Latin American filmmaking is on a high.Blanchett also confirmed that she is to appear as Bob Dylan in Todd Haynes’ unconventional biopic, I’m Not There, which begins shooting in July. Others playing the singer at different times in his career include Richard Gere, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale and Ben Wishaw.Babel joins Pedro Almodóvar’s Volver as a frontrunner for the top prize, though many have high hopes for Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette which screens today. France is awash with posters for the film that is said to give Louis XVI’s queen Diana-like qualities. On Tuesday there was also much praise for French director Bruno Dumont’s ultra-depressing Flandres, which tells the story of young French soldiers who leave their bleak lives to fight a war in an unnamed Arabic-speaking country. While the soldiers commit atrocities, the already messed-up girlfriend back home becomes an emotional wreck. Chuckles are rare and the sex scenes enough to put people off bedroom activity for life.

I’ve been a lurker for a long time now. And I’ve always enjoyed reading a lot of witty and intelligent postings here. In fact, I pretty much know (almost personally) all the regulars here from what they normally described as to who they are, what they do for a living and where they live, and I thought it is such an amazing diverse group of smart people sharing one common fascination. But, today I am quite dissappointed about some of you who acted totally infantile and mean to Agnieszka, who actually did not say anything offensive, other than trying to convince people about her position. All she said was "I am just amazed how stupid people are. They will believe anything they see just because its JJ site" - it is a general comment based on her frustration of all sorts of petty attacks from people. My point is, if you took what she said as a personal offense, then that just simply say something about your maturity. A lot of you here pride yourself of being mature, educated, thoughtful and compassionate people, yet somehow some of you failed to hold those principles by resulting into pettiness. So what if she was persistent about her opinion and you happens to disagree about it - you really have nothing to lose by ignoring here (which was what some of you did) or simply acknowledging her opinion without any insult comments. Besides, this is a public blog, where people are free to share and be passionate about their opinions at the same time minding your manners. This is not the place to insult and carry on about people’s mistake - unless, that’s truly the kind of person you are….I hope this ridiculous issue is finally over….Goodluck and congratulations to the Jolie/Pitt family for their newest member….

For the love of all that is HOLY…will you gripers stop bringing Britney Spears behind into…onto these darn BAMZ+1 bike threads! If you are so upset about Britney being flayed out about not having her child strapped into a car seat while she peels of onto what was it the Pacific Coast highway…(not sure), go to E, Access Hollywood and ET and let them know that Brad was seen tooling around with Zahara on the back of his bicycle without a helmet. Maybe they’ll give your inane gripes some air play. Jeeze, get over it! The man took his kids out for a bicycle ride in a paparazzi-free zone (or should be). While Britney took her kid out for coffee to the local starbucks, knowing that the paps were following her closely. Hmmm…

canes review @ 05/24/2006 at 9:54 am

Another canes review of Babel from ReuterBabel" a towering masterpieceWed May 24, 5:56 AM ETTense, relentless and difficult to watch at times, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s "Babel" is an emotionally shattering drama in which a simple act of kindness leads to events that pierce our veneer of civilization and bring on the white noise of terror.Inarritu and screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga involve six families, most of them not known to one another, in four countries on three continents in their story of random fate and the perils of being unable to communicate.Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal give committed ensemble performances alongside seasoned character performers and nonactors as the story ranges from Morocco to San Diego to Tokyo. The film, which also features exceptional work by director of photography Rodrigo Prieto, production designer Brigitte Broch, editors Stephen Mirrione and Douglas Crise and composer Gustavo Santaolalla, is headed for major prizes and large, appreciative audiences.——————-I think this film is going to be like Brokeback mountain, small budget movie but with great achievement. I hope Brad could get some award in this film.

# 121 | Krissy - I’m glad to hear all is okay. I missed you, I haven’t seen you since I came back to BAMZlandOh and the Britney Post I made was not pointe at all of you, just the ones that keep harping over the fact that BS is constantly screwed by the media and BP seems to be getting off scott-free. as if we control that.t.

# 164 | canes review I think thins film is too muh of an ensemble cast for anyone to really outshine the other. I think this is what’s going to make this film and indie hit. Two big stars and one big up & coming one, and a talented director, but still, the film is the star in Babel. With such an international cast, they all will be nominated for GoldenGlobes, that’s for sure.

I always like picture of celebrity with their kids, its more humane and natural. looking back at Brad past picture with his X, it’s red carpet, premier, party, tanning, lot of PDA, but nothing compare to these picture, mature and contend Brad.

# 121 | Krissy Thanks Krissy!! That’s nice to hear that you’re mom is doing well now, let’s pray that nothing like that happens again. I saw the xtra segment but didn’t see access, do you guys know if they’ll repeat access this noon? or something?

# 134 | lylianLylian - Actually, I didn’t start the phone convos per se. Estelle suggested it and I just did one as a goof…and then they took a life of their own. As for the writing - no, that’s not me writing a book. Maybe Rica? I’ve never written fanfic or anything beyond school papers in my life and that’s why I found doing the phone convos to be hilarious.Anywho - about Agnieszka - We’ll just have to agree to disagree. I wasn’t the only person who interpreted her as being "mean" to those of us who didn’t agree with her. Several others have stated likewise. I agree that she was passionate that she was right about the pictures being fake. Passion is nice…as long as the person doesn’t become so single-minded that they refuse to allow others to their opinion. She was INSISTING that she was right and we were all wrong. Well, she ended up not only being wrong about the photos being fake but about Brad having a Mohawk, which was one of her points in proving her case. People see what they want to see. If the rest of us had been the ones in the wrong I sincerely hope that we would have had the guts to come forward and admit to being wrong and apologize trying to force others to agree with us.

Good afternoon everybody from Nice, France. Oh my goodness, please do NOT start with a helmet and child safety stuff again!!! Zahara was SAFELY wrapped up on her father’s back, can’t you see the head safety part behind her back? And look at the wheels for God’s sake, it is so obvious that Brad is biking sooooo slow!If Brad did felt on his side, his shoulders will touch the ground, if forward Brad will be under her, if backward she had a head safety part, SO WHAT ARE WE DISCUSSING ABOUT in last couple days? We have the same thing, Zahara was in, those things have so much safety belts which make child so safe in it! Stop nagging!TO GULI?I am half Turkish too; my mother is Turkish. I have been living in France since I got married to half French guy. Briefly everybody has 50-50 nationality at our home :D!
