#183| Yes, I finally got lucky. He is a great guy. Treats me well. (that is something new for me) and loves my son like he was his own. I was kinda like Angie in that way.. I said no way was I going to let another guy get close to me or my child unless he honestly loved my child as much as he did me. My son adores him.

She has no friends at all.’ Once I’d embarked on a friendship with her, I found out why - not only was she quite startlingly bonkers (which I didn’t mind), she was on my patch (which I did). Once I brought a new boyfriend over to her flat to meet her and, donned in a negligee at three o’clock in the afternoon, she took him off alone into her bedroom, festooned with incense sticks, to ‘get to know what he’s about’. Later I found out that she’d lolled on a beanbag, holding forth on art, literature, metaphysics and other things I knew nothing about. Once they finally emerged, him looking stunned and smelling faintly of sandalwood, I was furious, feeling betrayed but not really knowing why. What could I do? Rage at her for being exotic, and making me look mediocre? A little older and wiser and I might have talked it through with her. Instead I dropped her, one of the most interesting women I’d ever met, for a man who wore England shirts in bed. Is this what women do sometimes? I think we’ve all had those moments hesitating to introduce new partners to certain friends because they’re frankly too attractive and interesting (best to get our claws in properly first). Or, worse, we avoid making friends with these ‘Jolies’ altogether, rejecting and excluding them, and then bitching to each other about how they’re Men’s Women, not girly-girls, not someone you could trust at all. It is as if some women are too ‘hot to handle’ as friends. If you hang out with them, goes the thinking, you will be doomed to a second-string existence. They’ll get all the attention and you’ll just be this drab thing at the side fetching the drinks. While some people are evidently put on earth to highlight your essential mediocrity, there’s no reason why you should have to hang out with them. For all I know, Jolie could have a string of ‘bezzie mates’, but somehow I doubt it. Her detractors might argue that, as she’s clearly quite mad, only bedazzled men could put up with her, but I think it’s more complicated than that. Just as the intense, beautiful Jolie can’t help how men react to her, she can’t help how women react to her either, and few women would be strong enough or confident enough to take her on as a friend: which must surely lead to gender-loneliness, and the ‘lop-sided’ personality my friend was talking about. Thanks Alexanderina.. I have a lot of things in common with Angie, especially the great beauty. LOL just kidding, I WISH.. no but I really have admired her cause she has overcome things that I have had to overcome too and she is an inspiration. and i have loved Brad for a long time. So amazing that my two fav celebrities have come together like this!!

She is one great lady and so are you missy so don’t be putting yourself down :). It is so great to see them together and to see Brad with the kids it just melts my heart. I believe that they are going to be together for a long time. I have to tell you I probably watched MAMS like a zillion times, the chemistry between them is incredible. I just watched it again last night again. I can’t wait for the unrated DVD lol
