Given Vince Vaughn’s recent success with landing punch lines, there was considerable hope that if anybody could inject a little zip into the stagnating romcom, he’d be the guy to pull it off.
And he still might — one of these days.
In the meantime, there’s "The Break-Up," a major disappointment of an anti-romantic comedy for which Vaughn shares producer and story credits in addition to sharing the screen with real-life squeeze Jennifer Aniston.
Bottom Line: Don’t Believe The Hype
That’s one big OUCH from The Hollywood Reporter! BURNED. Will fans flock to theaters for The Break-Up anyway for the former Friends star? Well, it looks like Aniston strikes again. I’m sure Vaughn’s fans will go out to see it for him but that won’t sustain the boxoffice with X-Men opening today and Cars opening on the 9th.Aniston is annoying enough but when you’re annoying AND have no talent then the public really turns it back on you. She’s handled the past two years in the worst way for herself and her career. I know she can’t get backing from anyone on a couple of projects that Brad gave her from Plan B. Good morning all readers/writersFirst let’s stop saying Brad would still be with Jennifer if she would have had kids. The marriage was over at least two years ago (2003). Even Brad said it wasn’t because of the lack of children. They just realized there differences weren’t enough to keep them together. They grew apart and being good friends and great buds couldn’t keep them together any longer. It’s nobody’s fault. She said he wasn’t the love of her life and he’s said that love is beautiful but doesn’t have to last forever.As for Jennifer’s career, she may just be a great TV actress and that’s alright as long as she’s fine with it. So I hope she does well with whatever she decides to do.

Variety says the film is not the "boisterous comedy" one would expect from ads, and calls it "relentlessly unpleasant" and "ill-conceived virtually from the opening frame." The Hollywood Reporter labels The Break-Up "a major disappointment of an anti-romantic comedy" and predicts the audience will give up on it long before its "tacked-on" ending. At a recent press conference promoting the movie, Aniston talked about filming on the heels of her 2005 breakup from husband Brad Pitt. "It was definitely therapeutic," she said. "It was also all happening at the exact same time with my – you know." She continued, "At first, I thought it was a joke when I got the phone call from my agent about a movie called The Break-Up. I said, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’ But after reading the script, I thought there was no better way to heal than through laughter."

The pictures of Jen in the black dress withher bra showing are very tacky. The rest look really good. According to the review this film is going to be another bomb for Jennifer. I don’t think that gives anyone here the right to slam her or talk crap about her though. As I’ve stated before I’m not a big fan of hers, but knowbody deserves to be treated the way some of the posters on this site do. With that being said, Jennifer is not a good "Movie" actress. Her trackrecord has made that abundantly clear. Some people just can’t do certain things. Jennifer can’t act in Movies. Her TV career did fantastic. Maybe she should return to the "small screen" where she obviously has a large fan base. She was good at what she did there.
Honey, Friends is on in syndication. That show has been off the year for over two years and that’s Aniston’s problem right there. She is forever Rachel Green. Her fans are stuck, she’s stuck and it doesn’t help that she’s really not that talented. She’s a character actress who needs good leading actors around her and she should only be on screen for a short time. She can’t carry a film. She just can’t.
