Given Vince Vaughn’s recent success with landing punch lines, there was considerable hope that if anybody could inject a little zip into the stagnating romcom, he’d be the guy to pull it off.
And he still might — one of these days.
In the meantime, there’s "The Break-Up," a major disappointment of an anti-romantic comedy for which Vaughn shares producer and story credits in addition to sharing the screen with real-life squeeze Jennifer Aniston.
Bottom Line: Don’t Believe The Hype
That’s one big OUCH from The Hollywood Reporter! BURNED. Will fans flock to theaters for The Break-Up anyway for the former Friends star? I’m LMAO!!!! JA actually thought that the writers on FRIENDS would care for her ideas. She can barely act and yet she was trying to be a writer. What a ego she has if she thinks that the writers needed her for story line ideas. HA!!! Jenjen and her friend sitting together and making up ideas for the next show. "oooooo jen, in the next episode, your character should go to hollywood and become a big movie actress and all your movies will be hits". Matthew Perry, Courtney, and Lisa Kudrow were the funniest on that show. It was a hit because it was an ensemble cast. And David was the smart one who decided that they needed to negotiate their contracts as a team and demand 1 million per episode. Jenjen just got hit with a lucky stick. And you JA fans are so disloyal! Turning your backs on VV already, because he is the producer. Please save those excuses for someone else. Did VV produce FWM, Rumor Has It, Derailed, and all of the other flops that JA has given? I didn’t think so.

at best, JA is an average actress. she was not the reason why Friends was a success. it was the WHOLE cast. she is a one-dimensional actress. in all the roles that she has played, it comes across as "rachel". i believe someone had written that she is more talented than vince. they must be living in bizarro world. did that person not see Wedding Crashers, Swingers, Old School? oprah mentioned one time that if she liked a movie, she would be raving about it all the time. when vv was her guest, she did not really talk about the movie. all she asked was how it was to work with JA. i guess she thought the movie sucked also. i’m sure if they had cast some other actress in JA’s role, the movie would have been much funnier.

Poor Vince , he was one of the producer, no wonder he had this big eyebag in every picture seen in JJ. must be crying like a baby all night. I agree with # 163, if they had cast some other actress in JA’s role, the movie would have been much funnier. JA was too overexpose, 4 films in 15 months. she is not intersting anymore.
