i had a feeling you were, lizard. you had me believing you until you made that statement about being surprised about there being families where went would be considered the dark one. then i knew you weren’t for real. but on your behalf, at least you came clean and admitted it. yeah, stelvill, that goes without saying. but it would be nice if we could accept the guy for who he is without always trying to diminish a part of him. went is obviously very proud of his heritage and we should accept that part of him too. went’s father is a black man, case closed. and went, like he himself has said all along, is half-black.

Woah, some harsh words. Let’s just drop it because he’s beautiful no matter how black he is, how white he is, how pink he is or how maroon he is. Get it?But, to KIRA, I just need to point something out and I don’t wanna get into an argument and I don’t want you to tell me I’m lying…but this statement you made ————-if went’s grandfather AND father were biracial, went’s father would have been 1/4 black and went 1/8. if that were the case, went would not have any of the black features that he has which are really noticeable if u know what to look for.——————-is not truthful. Well at least, not in my case. I am 1/8 African. My great grandmother was African, her daughter (my mommom) was half African, her son (my dad) is 1/4 African, which makes me, my brother and three sisters 1/8 African, and ALL OF US, especially my brother, look like we’re part black. Even all their kids have some black features eventhough all their other parents (my sister in law and brothers in law) are white as ghosts. You can mostly tell my heritage from my hair and my skin tone. All I’m trying to point out is - genes are tricky. You can’t pinpoint one thing and make a generalization like that because it just isn’t so. We should just learn to love the beauty in all colors, shapes and sizes rather than argue it’s validity.And I’m done.

jenn, you said your great-grandmother was african, not black american. there’s a lot more white blood in the average african-american than in most africans. so it stands to reason that say the great-grandchild of an african and a white person might show more black features than the great-grandchild of a white person and your average african american, who already has considerable admixture.look, i’m done with this whole issue. my mother is creole background which is why i say the things that i do. someone went’s color wouldn’t even get a second look among many blacks, he is so common in creole families. and not just creole black families but in general. there has just been so much mixing with black americans that people like went aren’t that unusual.

About the hair issue, Wentworth said (Good Morning LA maybe?) that he had to shave his chest and arms before they applied the faux tattoo. So, I don’t think he is naturally hairless. And, when he was in The Human Stain, his chest and belly had patches of hair. And being multi-ethnic has nothing to do with the amount of hair you do or do not have on your body; part of my ethnicity is African, and I am extremely hairy. Maybe I can blame that on my German lineage.The ethnicity issue, I feel the only person who can define ‘what’ someone is, I that person. If Wentworth’s father says he’s black, we need to respect that. Why argue? I am multi-ethnic and I can’t stand it when people expect me to stand in line and claim allegiance to one ethnicity, I have four different ones (that I know of) running through me, why should I abandon three of them? And speaking of, has anyone seen pictures of his family? I would really love to see what his parents and sisters look like.
