Angelina Jolie on the Beach

Angelina Jolie on the Beach

Angelina Jolie pulled her loved ones closer and took advantage of a break in the weather in Namibia. Angelina, Maddox and a friend took a walk on the beach near their resort on May 6 (three weeks before Shiloh was born).  Said an observer: "They looked like any normal happy family."  In the backdrop is the "Oyster Bar" that the whole Pitt family ate at the weekend before last. Send bigger and better InTouch and Star scans this way!  Yesterday, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt released a statement saying,  “We would like to deeply thank the staff of the Cottage Medi-Clinic Hospital for all their kindness and commitment in assuring the successful birth of our daughter.” The couple’s obstetrician Jason Rothbart, M.D., was assisted by the local staff of the Cottage Medi-Clinic Hospital. "Angelina underwent a scheduled cesarean due to breech presentation," Dr. Rothbart said. "The baby was a healthy 7 lbs. Brad was with Angelina in the operating room the entire time and cut the umbilical cord of his daughter. The surgery and birth went flawlessly. The staff, nurses and doctors I worked with at the Cottage Medi-Clinic Hospital were amazing, it was a team effort."

Pitt juggles baby, 3 new filmsBrad Pitt’s summer schedule will not only include caring for his new baby daughter, but he will also have to squeeze in time to shoot a movie and gear up for the fall release of two more highly-anticipated flicks.Once again, Pitt will partner up with fellow actors George Clooney and Matt Damon to film the third installment of the caper flick "Ocean’s Thirteen," Variety reports. The 42-year-old star will then gear up to publicize the Sept. 15 release of the western "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" and will follow that up with the promotion of "Babel," a romantic drama set in Morocco slated to premiere on Oct 6.With both films scheduled to be released a mere three weeks apart, Warner Bros. may decide to put the release of "Jesse James" on hold until the 2007 Berlin Film Festival.Pitt’s last starring role was in last year’s successful action flick "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," starring his real-life love Angelina Jolie.

Jon Voight on MSNBC - He’s currently on a press tour promoting his new film. He’s got a lot coming up at the same time as Angelina. It’s not cashing in, he’s very much in the business right now. It’s about reinforcing his place in Hollywood as elder statesman. MSNBC’s bumper (tease) about why Angelina won’t see him is to get people to watch. They will probably mention it but the majority of the interview will be about him, his past films, awards and whats coming up with him. It would be rude to have him on and then talk about Angelina.Ted C: I don’t believe his latest post. There’s maybe one sentence in that column that’s correct and he made a whole article around it. I don’t think X really CARES about anything Brad & Angelina right now. She’s fighting for survival (careerwise) and has to concentrate on herself. I would suggest to her a hair or cosmetic contract like L’Oreal, Revlon, MAC.etc..If Nicole Kidman has Chanel, Halle has Versace and Queen Latifah has Cover Girl, why can’t she get her own? Oooops……Angelina has St, John. There will be comparisons LOL!!!! Too bad Jennifer. That’s what you get for being slow. Bradforums had super great posts & info but it would really be sad that they were run by secret fanistons who hate the thought of Shiloh being born. There are other Brad sites that are just as informative that haven’t crashed and Brad & Angelina sites that celebrate their union.

#496 MeAnother one to look at is Calista Flockhart. She was very closely identified with her TV character, Ally McBeal. So after the show went off the air, she laid low, didn’t overexpose herself, and let that image fade in the public’s mind. In the meantime, she adopted a boy, and has quietly (while ADMITTING to it!) carried on a normal, non-publicity hungry relationship with Harrison Ford. Now, several years after Ally McBeal went off the air, she is back on TV in another role, and no one will have trouble seeing her as something other than Ally. She also started in movies, in small parts, so it’s not like she wouldn’t have wanted that, too. But she knew the best way to handle life after a long-running TV show. Ted Danson did the same thing — he only made a couple of movies after Cheers, and played a similar character to Sam Malone. Then he disappeared for a while, and when he came back it was on TV, in a different role. If she had done as Calista Flockhart, or Sarah Jessica Parker, she would still be getting people wanting to see her perform.

The Brangelina no-showBy CNN’s Robyn Curnow Thursday, June 1, 2006; Posted: 10:41 a.m. Paparazzi frustrated in Namibia. (2:39) SWAKOPMUND, Namibia (CNN) — To get away from the public scrutiny that befits one of the world’s most famous showbiz couples, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie decamped to Swakpomund — a sleepy little town on the southwest coast of Africa. Not that you would know it by walking around town.Hardly anyone here has seen their famous neighbors and if they have, it has been a sneaked glance from a distance or a chance glimpse in the street. The press have been even more unlucky. British paparazzo Steve (he wouldn’t give his last name) told us this assignment was the worst he has ever had to cover, saying it was "impossible" to get a photograph of the couple and their children. But he’s trying. Most foreign paparazzi and foreign media didn’t even make it out here, to the edge of the Namibian desert. There is a conspicuous absence of a press pack, even though the birth of Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt last weekend was one of the most eagerly awaited celebrity births this year. The Namibian government has gone out of its way to protect the privacy its famous visitors, by restricting press visa into the country.Swakopmund is small town, nestled between soaring red sand dunes and a cold, wild Atlantic ocean. It has not experienced an influx of media hounds with long lenses and sharp elbows, in spite of world-wide curiosity about the birth of the Hollywood couple’s first baby.Instead, just a handful of foreign paparazzi like Steve hang out at the windy shore or in the town’s modest hotels each day — trading on rumors, conjecture and speculation that Brad and Angelina will: a) Have a water birth in their hotel b) Have a caesarean birth at a Walvis Bay hospital c) Be discharged from a Swakopmund clinic d) Have a celebratory birth party at a beach restaurant. All are possible photo opportunities. All create a sense of panic and competition. All amount to nothing, except the small media contingent covertly running around in circles chasing their tails.Brad and Angelina must be chuckling away in their beachside resort, thinking "Brangelina 1, Media 0."The local press is also unhappy about the lack of access to Namibia’s famous visitors. The editor of the Namib Times, Floris Steenkamp, recounts what he calls a "low point" in the relationship between the stars and the media. This came when the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation news crew accompanying the First Lady was refused entry into the Burning Shore resort when she made a courtesy visit to the Hollywood couple. In Africa, hospitality is important. Not inviting people into your home is considered rude — even if you are People magazine’s Most Beautiful Person in the World. The local press has been eagerly waiting a "meet the local children" photo opportunity or even just a "hello and thank you" interview. Steenkamp and other local reporters say neither has happened, much to their disappointment. But still, the local press and public remain supportive of the Hollywood superstars sequestered in their midst. They are grateful the couple’s presence has put Namibia on the the world’s radar screen and hope the country’s heightened profile will help boost tourism. No longer is the old German colonial town of Swakopmund one of the few places in Africa where you can order a Wiener Schnitzel in German, drive along Kaiser Wilhelm Strasse or have a dental check up at the Bismarck Zahnartzt.Oh no, Swakopmund is the birthplace of one of Hollywood’s most famous newborns — Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. Perhaps a Shiloh strudel or a Nouvel cocktail will lure more visitors to Namibia’s remote coast? The Namibians are counting on it. What do you guys think. You think Brad and Angelina are being unfair to media and in turn their fans by not releasing all the details about baby Shilohs birth? # 370 | Clara++++++++++++++No, I don’t think they’re being unfair. The media doesn’t give a **** about that baby. All they care about is MAKING MONEY OFF THE BABY. Bottom line. Reporters are just as ambitious as actors. They want the fame and notoriety of breaking a hot story. They want the accolades and monetary remuniration that comes with success. They don’t care that this is a very private moment for a public couple. Brad Pitt has wanted children for a long time and asking him to share his every feeling IN PUBLIC is just stupid. He probably hasn’t even had a chance to analyze everything he, and Angie, felt when their baby was born. Is there nothing that famous people are allowed to hold dear and keep private? The real problem the media has is that they know People is getting an exclusive and it kills them. I think one of the reasons that B/A haven’t disclosed as much information is because of the deal they’ve made with People (or whoever won the rights) for the first photo. If the going rate was $5MIL, then People (or whoever) is going to want a bit more than just a picture of the baby. I think A FEW of the intimate details of the birth will come with the first photos. The one thing that prevents People from being lumped with the rest of the weekly tabloids is their accuracy in reporting the story…AS TOLD TO THEM BY THE PARTICIPANTS. The rest of the media don’t have that and it pisses them off that they have to rely on the ubiquitous "inside source" or "friend".

# 555 | remember da truth Yeah, but you can’t blame X for striking while the iron’s after Friends endedOffers were pouring in.She had the most promiseIf any of her movies had been successful, noone would say she should have taken time off ,so we could all forget RachelShe made some bad film choices. She obviously doesn’t know a good movie script from her ass, but I think her idea was goodBrad sure did feel differently about that though didn’t he. How lond after she left Friends did everyone start talking about them breaking up?Does anyone remember?

Oh God, so much written already! I can’t get through it all, but I just want to say a huge congratulations to Brad and Angie, I’m so happy for them.

The Brangelina no-showBy CNN’s Robyn Curnow ——————————-That Robyn reporter is a tool. I saw her segment on the entertainment show at CNN. She and the one interviewing her were acting like BAMZ owes them something. Who is she to speak for the local Namibian press? And just like what PT says, the international press are just bitter. They are made to look like fools - chasing their own tail.

That Robyn reporter is a tool. I saw her segment on the entertainment show at CNN. She and the one interviewing her were acting like BAMZ owes them something.# 560 | Nona A lot of fans act the same way. The fans demand this & that and they forget that Brad & Angelina are people no different than you or I. I hope that after the release of the family pictures, BAMZS will keep a very low profile. I’m a fan but I don’t need to see pictures of them every second of the day. It’s not normal. I am content to wait until Brad & Angelina do their media blitz for their upcoming films and awards ceromonies in the Fall.

A painful split’The Break-Up’ cuts too close to the bone to be an enjoyable comedy6/1/2006Her name is Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. She is, as the entire world of infotainment knows, the child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, whom, as the tabloids have it, Jolie stole from Pitt’s former wife Jennifer Aniston.Shiloh was born in Namibia last Saturday.Or, on the Hollywood calendar, less than a week before the opening of "The Break-Up," in which Aniston, with apparent comedic intent, plays an employee of a chichi art gallery going through a particularly bitter break-up with her live-in boyfriend, a tour guide played by Vince Vaughn (whom Aniston is, of course, now said to be seeing in what’s laughingly known with these folks as real life). No doubt Shiloh will, in short order, grow up to be a real person with her own likes, dislikes, wants, needs, flaws and gifts. At the moment, she’s one of the cleverest marketing props in movie history. So advanced has the art of movie marketing become (it is routine for the movie hype to be more creative than the movie) that I swear all I could think of watching "The Break-Up" is that some marketing genius had an uncannily good idea when Shiloh would make her entrance among us and scheduled the summertime opening of "The Break-Up" to fall as close as possible to the general area of the Brangelina due date.Don’t get me wrong. There are a few laughs in "The Break-Up" - a couple pretty good ones, even. But this is a bitter downer of a comedy. Any man or woman who has ever broken up with a partner after a lengthy interval of constant verbal ugliness at high decibels will recognize too much of what goes on in "The Break-Up." So, for that matter, will any friend or relative of the misbegotten who has ever watched a break-up at uncomfortably close quarters. The premise is similar to that of Danny DeVito’s "The War of the Roses," the blackest, funniest and most brilliant comedy ever made about divorce in America. In "War of the Roses," you remember, Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner, while divorcing, fight bitterly and violently (and hilariously) over custody of the house. In "The Break-Up," Aniston and Vaughn aren’t married but they’ve gone in together on the purchase of a condo, which is now the focus of their affections as their revulsion for each other escalates into infliction of psychological pain by increasingly elaborate means. Here is the difference between the genius of "War of the Roses" and the misfire of "The Break-Up:"In "The War of the Roses," they’d actually been married. The hair-raising escalation of malice, therefore, remained utterly pure while they did increasingly awful things to one another to take possession of the house, even as they both lived in separate parts of it.In "The Break-Up," they both retain drippy romantic feelings for each other but are too pig-headed and attached to appearances to admit it. Their inflictions of pain and humiliation, then, are impure, ambiguous and, if you ask me, mostly not all that funny. They’re just bitter and inept and "real" in a way that an intended comedy can’t afford to sustain. It isn’t Aniston’s or Vaughn’s fault. Quite the contrary in fact. Vaughn’s motormouth blustering is always hilarious. And Aniston is, as always, sweetly attractive as well as quite affecting sometimes. If anything, the two are so good at getting "into character" that the laughs often stop dead. They’ve fallen into the kind of "I’m With Stupid" relationship which is increasingly common in the era of gender polarizing a la "men are from Mars, etc." He’s a big loudmouth jerk who wears "Polish and Proud" T-Shirts, starts calling her "Tonya Harding" and bringing home hoochie mamas to smoke cigars and play strip poker with him and his buddies. She’s an uptown sort who gets a "Telly Savalas" bikini wax, parades around their condo naked and hopes to make him jealous with her set-up "dates."Their early split arguments have the sickening ring of authenticity. Why did he buy three lemons at the store and not 12, as she’d asked him to? Why can’t they have a pool table, as he wants? There’s a good and evidently willing supporting cast - Ann-Margret, no less, as her mother, Jon Favreau as his best friend, a flowing fountain of relationship misinformation and bad advice.A lot of the comedy that exists is provided by John Michael Higgins as her kung fu-ing sexually ambiguous brother who sings in an a cappella group he praises as a veritable "symphony of guys." And Judy Davis plays Aniston’s art gallery employer "Marilyn Deane," who likes to talk of herself in the third person and regally refers to her gallery as "The Synagogue of Marilyn Deane."As I said, there’s intermittent good stuff here - a few good, satisfying laughs. But the bile and pain of so much of it is just too much to be funny. Or moving either, frankly, despite the cast.I have little doubt that, one way or another, "The Break-Up" proved to be therapeutic for its cast.Bad aim, that. It’s the audience that’s supposed to find it therapeutic, not the cast.Out here, as the wrangles went on and on, I felt the way you might feel if you heard it all going on at an adjoining restaurant table.I kept on wanting to yell "check please!"Copyright 1999 - 2006 - The Buffalo News

#558 CherryI can understand what you are saying, but she had been making movies throughout her time on Friends, and it wasn’t like this was her only shot. She had been doing the same character over and over and only in a small indie film (Good Girl) was she acclaimed. If she had done just Friends With Money, and waited for just that and other roles or theater to make her over into a respected actress adn not believed her own hype that she was something more than a TV sitcom star — and one of six, at that — then she wouldn’t be in this boat. She was too arrogant and greedy, it wasn’t just striking while she was hot. She was no more "hot" than any of the examples given — and look at her co-stars, she was no more "hot" than they. She got more tab coverage because she was married to an A-list movie star, that’s all, but they all except Matt LeBlanc, who just played the same character, have waited, done small indie movies, or done theater. They have seen the Ted Dansons and Caroll O’Connors of the world go from a huge TV show to nothing, but if you wait and let the public move on from your character, you can get another successful run at a TV show — Heat of the Night or Becker. Few big TV stars transition to movies.Sarah Jessica Parker has because she didn’t sign up for four movies at once, and she was hotter than JA!! She also was a big movie star before her show, which was also on HBO, and so more movie-like to begin with than a mainstream half-hour ensemble piece that went on for ten years. So yeah, she believed her own hype and pride goes before a fall. Now it will REALLY be difficult for her to forge ahead in her career. In a few years when her Friends co-stars are back doing good work, she’ll still be struggling because she thought she was better than they were and had to rush into way too many movies at once when the public didn’t want to see her yet.

#564 cherrylollll It’s funny, because I loved Friends, and still do in reruns! But I was indifferent to her — I liked Matthew Perry best. Actually thought Schwimmer was the biggest dweeb, didn’t like him, but was okay with her. But I haven’t liked her behavior since, and her snotty me-me-me interviews, or her shallowness or arrogance. I want to see Lisa Kudrow in something like Opposite of Sex, she was great in that. I think Perry is typecast, also, he is worse stuck than she is! But he’s not forcing his image into our faces on a weekly basis, either. Or lying to us, while trying to keep an image of sweetness. She has proven to be a selfish, bitchy, irresponsible woman, so no I turned away from her after how she treated Brad in the last years of their marriage (and i wasn’t a huge fan of his, either, just liked his looks and thought eventually he would get into a good movie!), and certainly by the time of the divorce. I wanted them to get back together, just because I wanted them to try harder, but she had been the first to "check out" of that relationship a long time ago. They just needed to move on and be happier apart. I’d like to see her hook up with John Stamos! He’s hot, and seems like a really good guy. He’s had enough time to get over Rebecca whatever her name is leaving, and the both understand having a big TV show and then struggling afterwards. I think together they could rise again and be a great couple, and maybe find some projects to do together.

Hi there BAMZS fans, I was out of town for a few days dropping my son off to his dorm and moving some of his stuff to a storage in the middle of a heat wave (it was 95 degrees)!!! So I only logged on briefly and I don’t if this has been posted before. If it is a repeat my apologies…http://www.emanuellevy.com/article.php?articleID=2610

from people:1-Jolie also provided another bit of news. Says her friend: "She said the baby is beautiful."2- The birth itself was "very touching," and everything went "absolutely normally," says Peter Sander, director of the Cottage Medi-Clinic. "(Angelina) was treated like any other mother-to-be. She had no special requests and ate the normal hospital food." A radiant mom and baby checked out three days after the birth. Before leaving, the new parents thanked the staff, says Sander: "Brad said, ‘It felt like home to us.’ "3-Shiloh – who is automatically a U.S. citizen with two American parents and also will be offered Namibian citizenship 4-Despite tabloid reports, Angelina’s brother James Haven was not in the hallway outside the delivery room, although he was in Namibia

# 566 | remember da truth I know what you mean, my favourite couple was Monica and Chandler. I think Monica went from being unapproachably beautiful, to so neurotic and loveable. Chandler was the best… yeah, I agreeI thought I’d upset you at first, you sounded tense LOLI shoulda paid more attention to which blog thread I was on. I came to JJ’s because of new Jake Gyllenhaal pics- he gets me feelin crazy!!!But this thread looks good. I am an Angelina fan more than a Brad fan - from her wild Girl Interrupted days. I think she’s turned out pretty good, all round now

Man, check it out - here is what 2 of the 3 supposedly ‘good’ or ‘fresh tomato’ reviews have to say about Chin! With friends like these, who needs enemies: That is not to say Ms. Aniston is not good in this film. But when will she get some material? She tries hard and she is fun to watch but either she is stuck in a TV mode or she is stuck with second string TV writers because she can’t keep up the momentum. And how could we expect her to? Vince Vaughn is a big package to drag through an entire feature length film.Which leads us to the most remarkable billing boondoggle in years: Vaughn is credited over Aniston. And he isn’t funny. Not hardly at all. ..and two –It all matches reality, and despite the fact that I am still not a fan of Aniston (will she ever play a character that is something different from what she plays in every movie?), the film still clicked for me because it was set around a realistic situation to which many people can relate and was peppered with laughs and even some genuine emotion. See it with your better half and break up with them at the end of the movie for irony’s sake….mind you, THESE are the GOOD REVIEWS on Rottentomatos.Oh man! LOL

Good Morning All,So what’s new? I see we have having a relatively calm morning *Knock on wood*. Hopefully my presence here won’t having them coming out of the wood work *Knock harder on Wood*. So I read the funniest, funniest article….I don’t want to post it because it really has more to do with JA but they started it with Shiloh…..the referred the baby as the best marketing tool. Anyhoo, I probably should go catch up…..got some shocking news last night…..still reeling from it….well not really but kinda saddened that there is a……..ah…never mind.

Does MSNBC have a board to post. I hope Jon Voight gives a live confessional about what he did to Angelina considereing he just played Pope John Paull II on television recently. I hope this is just to tase the audiennce like Meda chick said. If he hasn’t learned his lesson yet about talking about Angelina…..He’ll never learn.

#569 cherrySorry if I sounded tense — I’m usually on here while doing several other things at once — waiting for something to download, or something like that and was probably thinking of something else. I was on the phone actually, at the same time! But this is my escape, just have fun, so no, not really tense. :-)I, too, am an Angelina fan — HUGE!! Love her! Since Gia. I actually wanted her and BBT to stay together until I learned more about that situation. (ugh! Glad she’s out now, though i still think he’s interesting and very creative and didn’t judge her.) I don’t like breakups willy-nilly, but that’s because people marry willy-nilly, I guess. I do believe in moving on if it just isn’t working and that usually by the time they split, it’s really been over for a while. Isn’t that the way it is in real life, too? When you look back on relationships, once enough time has passed to be objective, you realize you stayed wayyyy too long! lolJJ always has great threads. Thanks JJ!! He also avoids the rats — you know the reality TV "stars" and that useless ****** twit PHilton. He puts up people with substance, or that people are genuinely interested in. Jake’s cool, but I go crazy when he has up photos of Joaquin Phoenix!

6/1/2006 9:22:07 AMMovie Review: The Break-UpThe Break-Up isn’t screwball comedy; it is tee-ball comedy in which each joke gets an easy set-up, one swing (unless it whiffs) and we’re expected to cheer when the slightest contact with humor is made.Yes, this is the movie the gossip grapevine has strangled for months, as co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn may or may not have fallen in love on the set, after her bitter divorce from Brad Pitt, who ran off with Angelina Jolie, his co-star in last summer’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which coincidentally featured Vaughn in a supporting role. That is simply too much drama for one comedy to shoulder. Each time Aniston’s character cries or goes ballistic we wonder if that’s how she did it when Pitt broke the bad news. Each soulful expression shared with Vaughn makes us feel like peeping toms. Jack Nicholson once said keeping a personal life mysterious is crucial to movie stardom. The Break-Up is a clear example of why that may be true, regularly yanking the audience away from the story at hand into tabloid memories. It isn’t fair to the actors, and it isn’t fair to paying moviegoers expecting their money’s worth. A more imaginative script might lessen the distractions but we’ll never know.Aniston plays Brooke Meyers, an art dealer who meets gregarious Gary Grobowski (Vaughn) while dating another man at a Chicago Cubs game. A montage of photographs whisks us through their courtship and joint occupation of a nicer condominium than either could logically afford, even together. The relationship erodes with Gary’s inattention to anyone’s needs but his own although we only get the abrupt version. Therefore, people we don’t even know yet become people we don’t want to know. That gives Vaughn (who helped create the story) a chance to do his motor-mouthed wiseguy routine, and it occasionally works. On the other hand, Aniston isn’t an equal match in comedic pushiness or timing. Battles of the sexes must be fair fights in order to be funny. Brooke and Gary’s conflict isn’t.The condo becomes the third wheel in their break-up since neither wants to give up such prime real estate. How either would pay for it separately is never addressed. They agree to continue sharing the place, and that’s when The Break-Up has a chance to go screwball and instead begins lobbing its comic pitches. Director Peyton Reed (Down with Love) just points the cameras at his bickering stars and waits for box office windows to open. There are certainly opportunities for wackier material along the way. Brooke’s brother (John Michael Higgins) is obsessed with singing in an all-male chorus called the Tone Rangers, and one scene when Gary interrupts a rehearsal is funny stuff. Then the Rangers disappear and by the fadeout we’re wondering why Gary didn’t enlist them to serenade Brooke and mend fences. Vaughn’s Swingers co-star Jon Favreau proposes strong-arm tactics to help Gary, raising the possibility of some War of the Roses, Prizzi’s Honor or (gasp) Mr. and Mrs. Smith shenanigans. That, too, is deserted. The good news is that The Break-Up must not be as long as it was expected to be. How else to explain why a star such as Ann-Margret gets high billing for a single scene with minimal dialogue and never returns? Maybe Favreau’s scheme or the Rangers’ assistance also is on the cutting room floor. If so, Reed sacrificed his movie to cash-in on Aniston and Vaughn’s celebrity romance, to let him run verbal roughshod over everyone and her to show a little skin. Having them play genuinely romantic characters might have helped.CHEMISTRY?
