Academy-Award winning actress and U.N. ambassador Angelina Jolie turns 31-years-old today. She’s reportedly scheduled to return to the U.S. next month with Brad, Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh. June 06, 2006THE exclusive Australian rights to the official Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie baby photos were yesterday at the centre of the richest bidding war in the nation’s history.With a starting price of $700,000 , the snaps of baby Shiloh have already broken the previous record paid for pictures in Australia three times over – before a single bid has even been placed.A local outlet, tipped to be Who magazine, is expected to pay up to $1.5 million for the exclusive.Being offered through Getty Images, the agency confirmed almost every Aussie celebrity magazine had put in an offer for the set of six photos, with "virtually everyone" registering a serious bid above the reserve."The images are beautiful – very intimate, casual and not Hollywood glitz," the agency said.The money raised from the worldwide deals will go to children’s charity UNICEF, with total sales expected to reach more than $6.65 million.The $700,000 starting bid alone is more than triple that of the previous Australian record – the first pictures of Russell Crowe’s baby Charles, which sold to Woman’s Day for more than $200,000 in 2004.While the magazine reportedly paid Bec and Lleyton Hewitt more than $1 million for its baby Mia exclusive, the pair are contracted to a 12-month series of photos and a weekly diary.Getty Images has also put the media through an extraordinary bidding process which included registering a "serious bid" before being invited to a special "viewing" at the agency’s St Leonards offices.The successful bidder will then need to be approved by the couple and sign a contract. They will only be able to print the snaps once – and online publication is banned.The bids will be finalised by this afternoon.

Bill and Jane Pitt were spotted at the local airport and will join their son and Angelina Jolie at the Burning Shore Lodge in Swakopmund. The celebrity couple’s new daughter was born last Saturday. Meanwhile, Jolie’s estranged father Jon Voight, appeared on US network Msnbc Thursday night and extended his best wishes to the couple. He said, "I’m almost unable to describe how deeply happy I am for her (Shiloh’s) parents and so happy to have this new little one in the world." When MSNBC news anchor Rita Cosby asked him if he had hope that he would see his new granddaughter he said, "I can just think that one day, I’ll just say ‘Hey Shi, come over here.’ You know?" The actor hasn’t spoken with his daughter in four years and has not met her adopted children Maddox and Zahara. Voight hasn’t sent Shiloh a baby gift, saying, "This little one can have anything she wants of me, of course. As she grows older, hopefully I’ll be able to give her everything that I’ve got."

First things first - uhhh, considering I am once again habitually, er, fashionably late - late things late, the belated birthday wishes. But the youngest daughter has a light chestnut brown hair and does look bi-racial. She’s pretty as can be, too. I guess my cousin’s genes were Mr. Limpets in comparison with his sister’s genes, which were the dominant with her children.
