OlderBrad & Angelina Press Conference
Swakopmund, Namibia :: Angelina and Brad Pitt confirmed Wednesday that their newly-born daughter Shiloh Nouvel will have a Namibian passport.
"Shiloh will receive a Nambian passport, so we shall return," Pitt said at the couple’s first public appearance since the May 27 birth.
The Hollywood glamour pair spoke to local journalists at a press briefing at the four-star Hansa Hotel in Swakopmund at the edge of the Namib desert where Jolie gave birth by Caesarian Section.
"We couldn’t have picked a better place to have our child," said Jolie, looking healthy and relaxed in a black dress. Pitt agreed: "We are very proud that our daughter was born here".

Pitt said the couple had "done their homework" before deciding on Namibia as the birthplace of their first biological and third child.
"The health of our daughter and Angie’s was imperative. We’ve had absolute top-notch medical assistance," Pitt said.
The couple reiterated their gratitude to the people of the sparsely populated country, which has come under intense media interest since their arrival two-and-a-half months ago.
"We are eternally grateful to the Namibian people," Pitt said. "Namibia is one of Africa’s best kept secrets - until we came of course."
The couple had been "afforded a lifestyle here we could not have anywhere else" and that Namibia has been "a wonderful place to be with our kids."
The couple said they planned to remain in the country for just a few more days before returning to the United States. "Just a few more days. My mother is dying to see the baby," Jolie said.
On the tight security around the couple, Jolie said they had wished this had not been necessary but felt "the birth should be done in a way that was peaceful."
Pitt explained that having "a child with a bounty on its head" before its birth, had brought about the need for bodyguards to shield the family.
On future career plans, Pitt said he would begin work on the latest in the Ocean movie series in August while Jolie planned to concentrate on the needs of her three children - the newborn and four-year-old Maddox and one-year-old Zahara.
The couple were accompanied by Namibian first lady Penehupifo Pohamba (pictured above) regional governor Samuel Nuujoma and Child Welfare Minister Marlene Mungunda as they spoke to journalists for about 30 minutes, posed for photographs and signed autographs.
A day after their daughter was born, the couple announced they would provide 300,000 dollars for the refurbishment of hospitals in Namibia. Jolie, a United Nations goodwill ambassador, discovered Namibia some years ago while filming a movie there. [AP]

Let me tell you easy access when you are nursing is a priority. And for me - after I gave birth I had boobs for the first time in my life and I sure as heck was gonna flaunt them while I had them!I’m just glad that she is actually nursing, not like so many hollywood moms who are just above that because it means you really have to be totally "hands on", instead of "handing off" your baby to a nanny to bottle feed them. You are on call 24/7 as a nursing mom and it is the best thing you can do for your child.I realize that for some women is it not possible to nurse, but if you have the ability to do it and choose not to for selfish reasons, I just can’t understand it. There is no greater bonding experience than nursing your baby. I remember my hubby sitting there just watching me nurse in awe of it all and I’m sure that Brad is exactly that same way.YOU GO ANGIE!
#94: wild guess, I bet you Brad found out who Lainey’s source is so he put a stop to it real quick that’s why she’s so bitter. It might be somebody in Brad’s Plan B office. Somtime ago, there was Ted C I think who let out that Brad had told his secretary to call his old lady’s other old man on the phone (Billy Bob when he made a film for his productions) so he could talk to him. Now who would have heard that but someone who works there for sure.The info that Lainey was getting before could have been from somebody who was getting instructions from Brad himself when he was getting ready to go out of the country with Angie. He would have had to inform his staff of where he would be just in case they need him. That person probably got canned so Lainey is seething.

I really believe there must be something very wrong with Suri Cruise that they have not shown her yet or that Kate has not been seen out at least carrying the baby.She must have some kind of deformity or something and I’m not saying that in any kind of mean-spirited way. I found myself battling tears as I read this. Not because of the Jolie-Pitts, but because of Namibia. Having been to Africa doing volunteer projects with Earthwatch.org, I can’t even begin tell you what this kind of affirmation means to the people and the countries of Africa. So much of the continent is impoverished and forgotten and to have this type of recognition instills a pride in what they are and a hope that others will recognize them and thirdly a hope for a boost in tourism and other financial benefits. I’ve spent most of my time in Kenya where they produce champion marathoners and the Kenyans I was with new their names and spoke with great pride of their achievements. So if a winning marathoner can bring such pride to Kenya, imagine what this couple did for Namibia. The haters and doubters can say what they want, but if you read Angie’s book, Notes from My Travels, you can see over the six year period that she has been doing her UNHCR work, her heart is in it! And basically I say GO ANGIE. GO BRAD. A hug to you both for your beautiful souls.
