Pitt Outbids DiCaprio
It was a battle between Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio, and Pitt emerged the winner.
The production labels of the two stars — Pitt’s Plan B and DiCaprio’s Appian Way — were engaged in a competitive bidding war through their respective studios, Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures, over an upcoming zombie horror book by Max Brooks titled "World War Z."
By Wednesday afternoon, the dust settled with Plan B/Paramount winning the movie rights.
In 2003, Brooks wrote "Zombie Survival Guide," which explained in great deadpan detail how to survive a supposedly impending zombie apocalypse. The book went on to become a surprise cult hit.
"World War Z" also tackles the zombie genre but is set 10 years after a great global zombie epidemic and is a serious oral history of the zombie future told from many perspectives around the world. Crown Publishing is putting the book out in the fall.
The galleys of the book went out around town late last week, but interest took awhile to ignite. By the time execs finally realized they had a potential "tentpole" franchise, the battle lines were drawn between Plan B and Appian Way.
The bidding went back and forth between the two into Tuesday night and carried over into Wednesday. Sources say the rights sold for six figures, with the deal going to seven figures if the film actually gets made.
Brooks was a writer on "Saturday Night Live" from 2001 to 2003 and did voice work on the "Justice League" cartoon series.
There are said to be no hard feelings between the companies, and DiCaprio is starring in "The Departed," the Martin Scorsese crime drama that Pitt and his Plan B are producing. [THR]

Ok, I love brad pitt and the gang, but just because theres been a few pictures of him taken with the kids makes him dad of the year? and that goes for the rest of them too.

Hmm. Maybe TC wasn’t on the list because he dragged KH all over the world when she was pregnant; because he left her and his newborn to go do a PR tour for MI3; and who can forget the infamous nursing bra display the Sunday evening after the disappointing MI3 grosses came out? So he goes sees his kids play sports; big deal. Lot of photo ops there as well.

I am actually really sorry for celebrities. They have money and fame but they have no privacy. That’s one and second is that they must feel like hounded dogs. They stay holed up in the big expensive mansions for days.Like did BAMZS go anywhere except Brad on his motorbike? I don’t think so, cuz we’d have the pics right away. I really feel sorry for them. But partially it is also because of me who wants their pictures. I feel so bad. But I don’t mind waiting for the pictures if they wanted privacy for some time like in Namibia.

Okay, maybe it’s just me, but isn’t it silly to hate anyone because of their fans? That is as silly as liking someone because someone else does. After all, no one in the public eye can control what their fans say/do. HOWEVER in the case of X, I DO think she’s fed this monster with all her contradictory statements. So, perhaps their behavior reflects on her. This cannot be said for Brad or Angie, because they have said NOTHING. It’s not fair to come to a BAMZS blog and start yet again with the cheating crap and expect to skate for it. It’s ignorant, never will be proven, and therefore, since it has been denied by ALL concerned, will time and again be jumped upon. If you want to come to a BAMZS thread, try coming over with an unbiased mind, not to cause trouble. Also, know this: Brad and Angie AND their children have been the targets of some really really nasty posts. [not to mention the crap let out of X's camp] Because they choose to take the high road, their fans care all the more to get the truth out there.
that table tells me something about brad. we all think he is this traditional guy and angelina is very different from him, but i think their taste seems to match more than we know of. brad and aj seem to have similar taste. they both like out of the ordinary stuff. obviously angie does not have any problem with the furniture or else that table would not be there. that and i don’t think AJ is very fussy about furniture. i could be wrong but i get that vibe.

The kids would have so much fun here. And there is a great mysterious island called Mackinaw Island in the straits between Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. Just a beautiful island where no motor vehicles are allowed.They like to travel so they could travel in the States too. Just an idea. They can afford to jet anywhere they please at any time of day and night.BAMZS come to Michigan!:)
