# 868 | Passing Through Lmao…You sound like my Prof. He is so disillusioned with the media. Kept going on about Journalists using the medium to promote themselves instead of real issues. I had dreams of becoming an investigative reporter and this man scoffed at me. Said the days of Investigative reporting went out with Bob Greene (he Loved Greene) and the days of reporters calling politicians went out with Edward Murrow (Showed us the video of Murrow’s faceoff with McCarthy a billion and one times and after each video he’d say "You’ll never see anything like that"). He believes every journalist works toward one goal…to write a book about their "experiences in the field", with the hopes that it’s gonna get picked up by a movie producer, turned into a blockbuster so they’ll have other Jornalists interview them…lol. Honestly, you should hear him talk. One day I asked him why he continue to teach if he really thinks it’s all down the crapper. He said he hopes one day one of his students will go out and be the next Murrow or Greene…not me though, he added because I am waaay to "nice" (Condescendingly) to be a hard-nosed investigative reporter. Nope, my future is in writing children’s books. I was so upset…when I got home I told my sisters and all they could do was laugh. That was six years ago, doing something almost as blah as writing children’s books. The truth is deep down, I knew I wasn’t cut out for that but a girl can dream can’t she?
Maybe she and Rosie can bond over defending ‘Brangie.’ LOL# 946 | CLINIQUA | ————————————————–lol, it would be nice but I don’t think so

Well Ted C. is back in AJ attack mode tonite. He has always been fairly hostile to BP every since he boldly predicted that BP would never marry JA (he was totally wrong), and he now seems to have transferred some of the BP hostility to AJ. So many people do not want this couple to be happy and together. I well remember AJ’s behavior with BBT and how many thought how happy those two were. I did not as AJ always seemed to be in a daze with sad hollow eyes, putting on an act to prove to all that she and BBT were happy and all was well with the two of them. She seemed to be determined to demonstrate to the world the edgy wild person that others perceived her to be. So many people ony see that dark unhappy person and judge the AJ of today by the behavior of that person. However, that AJ’s eyes always seemed so sad and vacant to me, sad until Maddox came into her life. Then her eyes began to sparkle with life. AnnCurry said in the interview from Namibia what I had seen, a sad, depressed dark person who now radiants with laughter and inner peace. AJ’s eyes sparkled while talking to AC. BP in her life has much to do with the glowing happy person AJ appears to be today in my opinion. BP seems to provide some essential key element that AJ needed. AJ seems happy(notice I said seems happy b/c I do not personally know her). I would feel very sorry for AJ and BP if she takes actions that take her back to her dark persona. There are now three small children involved in this family, and two of those children are now old enough to have formed strong bonds with both AJ and BP. Additionally a newborn now exists who is part of both AJ and BP. I don’t think anyone can predict how the today AJ will act in this relationship with BP. Everytime someone has predictd what AJ will or won’t do regarding BP, they have been wrong. She won’t live with him, she won’t be faithful to one man (she travelled where ever BP was to be with him), she won’t let any man near her kids (certainly not let a man adopt her kids or adopt Z with BP),she is too vain and will never have a baby, she is starving the baby, she does not want the baby (then why is she happily breastfeeding), etc. I wish the best for BAMZS, and know they miss the peace they had in Namibia. Maybe they will follow Johnny Depp’s example and live mostly in France.
CNN Showbiz Tonight is gonna talk about Brad’s film The Lost Boys of Sudan soon. I wonder how they will spin this. They are probably going to make it seem he just made this film (he’s a producer) instead of mentioning that it was made 2 years ago and recieved and award. I’ll hold my tongue until this segment airs in a minute……
I found this somewhere. I love how this person responds. :)+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Funny being preached to about priorities by someone who slept with a married man (and probably others) and gave birth to his illegitimate child.. By: beatle on June 21, 2006 at 03:46pm +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++What a sad comment, I don’t see what that has to do with the good work she’s doing, the 1/3 of her salary she gives to charity, the good mother she is or the spotlight she’s shining on issues that should be on the forefront. And save me that "illegimate chid" ****, she can do what ever she wants and that "someone’s husband" crap, it takes two to tangle the Pitt/Aniston marriage was over a year before it was announced, and the separation had been filed before he and Jolie hooked up. If you’ve watched Pitt/Aniston’s interviews over the years you can tell clearly that they had different priorities. He wanted a family, she a career. They now both have what they wanted, he has a great smart woman with 3 kids and Aniston has her careers and her insecurity still intact. They’ve moved on best you do to.Unless you do as much as Ms. Jolie does to help make a difference you should shut your pie hole. Bravo Ms. Jolie for being a role model. She accepts that she’s done **** in the past but you grow up from that, you learn and become better and she’s done that. I’m not sure you could say that of yourself or the rest of the pretentious Hollywood people
Someone told me about this guy who was pretty homely looking. They said everybody believed he was a self-absorbed lying coniving manipulator. They said he put himself up to the level of God and they were so made about it that they killed him. In fact they chose to let a known murdered go free-Funny thing is no one could prove any of the negative stuff. It was all just heresay. Even the guy who sentenced him believed he was innocent, but in so many words he said a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do!In no way am I equating any of the celebrities with Jesus. It is the principle of it all. Of course I know all who post are not Christians, but to you who say you are-I have one question:Can you bow your head and thank God for allowing you to say the horrible things you are saying and also can you invite God to partake of what you are saying because after all those who are Christians represent Jesus Right? Since He is not Present in Human form, it is the Spirit that is within us that is supose to show how one that follows him acts. I am not holier than thou. I fall short so much that I need knee pads for al the praying. But I am just curious as to who do some of you owe your true allegiance to? # 281 | malibumom————————good point, believe there are plenty of posters in this thread who could also benefit from your message. Thank you.
Wasn’t it Ted who said nothing happened on set when all this triangle crap first started? within the last few months he’s turned on the Jolie-pitt’s. I think it’s because most of his readers are team aniston.
You’re welcome Alexanderina. I forgot to mentioned that Anderson joked and said that he "wishes" that Angelina would have called perosnally for the interview. Jon went along and asked how the conversation was like. lolKeep in mind that these times are eastern. The Daily Show repeats at 1:00 AM, 8 AM, 2PM and 8PM. There’s a good chance that the interview will be posted on youtube…if anyone is interested.

# 916 | Indie | June 21, 2006 11:00 PM I hope you’re still around. I hope people wouldn’t mind that this has become some sort of a political thread but I’m always interested to hear from someone who is from the region and knows first hand what its all about. I have my opinions about John Galang’s death and about him from what I read and what people say about him – how about you what’s your opinion of him? Do you think he would have been able to settle the issue on the exploration rights and give a semblance of unity among factions had he lived? Personally, I felt that there is an external force behind the Darfur attack in reference to the issue of oil. The country is sitting on a black gold mine so to speak. You know all these countries at war or in conflict have the oil resources to more than meet the demand and if they are only a player in the world market will likely affect oil prices.

# 965 | Maniston | - I said the same thing to myself when I read that post, so like you am just waiting for Cliniqua lol
Hi all. I come here and the first thing I read is that Kidi is Anonie Mouse! I missed Anonie Mouse so much. This is when I was a lurker and didn’t post. I just want to thank kidi aka Mouse for providing so many laughs. But kidi, did anonie mouse really have to die? Couldn’t she have gone to rehab or something to get over her J.e.n. food eating disorder. I thought mouse would get better and maybe would have moved on. But alas, she died. Sad. =(Oh well, Anonie Mouse will live on in our hearts. Atleast we still have Kidi. =)
Just saw a great segmnet on Showbiz Tonite /Headline News praising BP for the documentary "God Grew Tired of Us" about the lost boys of Sudan. They said that this was only one of the many ways BP helped with refugees (he executive produced this). Nicole Kidman narrated it. It won the Sundance prize as best documentary. Glad to see this extremely positive recognition of the real BP. See why AJ cares for this man! He is on the same page as she is.
# 951 | African Girl AG - Yeah, I’m with your prof. The media has turned itself into a joke. Reporters are just looking to make a name for themselves so they can make big bucks. I’d go so far as to say that least piece of really great ground-breaking journalism was Woodward & Bernstein’s work on Watergate. Since their book and movie it seems like the focus for investigative journalists is finding a story that will get them a book and movie deal, too. I just don’t see the same level of sincerity in younger reporters now that existed, gasp, 30 years ago. I read "All the President’s Men" when I was like 15. To this very day it is the best page-turner I have EVER read. You just can’t make up stuff like that. And stories like Watergate have become the Holy Grail of journalism and every reporter wants one and some don’t have the ethics to care how they get one.A couple of side notes - my sister was a J major in college. Her specialty was magazine layout and design. Once she left college she realized that she just wasn’t cut out for the kind of high-stress life that magazine editors live, so she went into something else. Just like you she was "too nice" to for the gig.The other thing I was going to mention is that I come by my cynism of the media honestly. The University of Missouri-Columbia has one of the top 3 J programs in the country. So for people who scoff at BP have been a J major and 2 credits shy of graduating, he wasn’t in no chopped-liver program kiddies…this is a only-the-cream-of-the-crop-get-in-the-program situation…and has been for over 30 years. However, the by-product of that is that if you work at the Univeristy you see and hear a lot of how the media goes about it’s business and it’s as cut-throat as any profession on the planet. When you "hear things" you’re bound to become cynical of the product that’s the end result of their training.
# 966 | Alexanderina Where’s Cliniqua? Do you think I have some time to pop some popcorn? I don’t want to miss the ass whooping.
U.N. Human Rights Council debuts amid doubt 47-member group replaces discredited Human Rights CommissionThe Associated PressUpdated: 5:15 p.m. CT June 19, 2006GENEVA - The United Nations inaugurated its new Human Rights Council on Monday, vowing to uphold the highest standards of human rights and erase the tarnished image of its predecessor despite lingering doubts about its effectiveness. The 47-member council replaces the Human Rights Commission, which became discredited in recent years as rights-abusing countries conspired to escape condemnation.U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan urged the council’s members not to squander the opportunity.“Never allow this council to become caught up in political point-scoring or petty maneuver,” Annan said. “Think always of those whose rights are denied.”He said the council has a chance to start its work with a tangible achievement by passing two “vital documents” — one against enforced disappearances, the other guaranteeing the rights of indigenous peoples — and sending them for approval by the General Assembly.Scaffolding of human rightsHowever, the council’s first meeting, which runs through June 30, aims only to establish its operating procedures, including how it should carry out human rights reviews of all 191 U.N. member states, and how often.Louise Arbour, the U.N. high commissioner for human rights, said the council should rededicate itself to the “scaffolding of human rights” enunciated by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt, whose widow, Eleanor, was the first chairwoman of the commission more than 60 years ago.“President Roosevelt’s four freedoms — freedom from want, freedom from fear, freedom of expression and freedom of worship — challenged us to promote liberty though democracy, justice and an equitable distribution of resources,” Arbour said.General Assembly President Jan Eliasson, who guided the negotiations that led to the creation of the council, told the delegates they were “part of an historic occasion.”“Let us be guided by a spirit of renewed cooperation and of upholding the highest standards of human rights,” Eliasson said.Vision and courageThe European Union said the council should take inspiration from Myanmar’s pro-democracy leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, who is under house arrest. Suu Kyi, who celebrated her 61st birthday Monday, has spent 10 of the last 17 years in confinement, making her one of the world’s most prominent political prisoners.“The EU is committed to support women human rights defenders who put their freedom, safety and sometimes their lives on the line to advance the cause of human rights,” Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik said. “One of these fearless women is Aung San Suu Kyi … Her vision and courage should be our inspiration in this forum.”Plassnik spoke for the 25-nation bloc because Austria holds the EU presidency. The new council will hold more meetings than the commission, comprising 10 weeks a year — greater than the current six weeks. It will also be easier to convene special sessions to respond quickly to human rights crises.Furthermore, any member that “commits gross and systematic violations of human rights” can be suspended from the council by a two-thirds vote of the General Assembly.SkepticalBut some critics fear that the council will be as weak as the commission, undermined by member states accused of major rights violations. Cuba, Saudi Arabia, China and Russia won seats despite their poor human rights records, although others — notably Iran — were defeated. Many countries accused of rights violations, who had been members of the old commission, didn’t even seek seats on the new council, including Sudan, Zimbabwe, Libya, Congo, Syria, Vietnam, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Eritrea and Ethiopia. The United States has been skeptical of the council but has promised to work for its success even if it didn’t run for a seat. The U.S. delegation will be headed by Warren Tichenor, the new ambassador to the U.N. offices in Geneva.© 2006 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. *****GOD GREW TIRED OF US: The Story of the Lost Boys of Sudan**************Well they CNN Showbiz Tonight showed clips from the film and interviewed one of the Sudanese men. They didn’t mention that it was made 2 years ago but they did mention that Brad Pitt was the executive producer and Nicole Kidman the narrator and acknowledged Brad’s many projects in helping get the story out about refugees. They also mentioned that it won the top prize at Sundance Film Festival this year. It seems like this documentary will open in wide release in the fall. It’s gonna be a BUSY fall/winter for Brad & Angelina with their films coming out. All that promotion that goes with having a new film out. Get ready for the haters to comment on Brad doing this type of documentary because of Angelina (not knowing that it was made a couple of years ago) and the cries of "media ho’s" when they do the required press & red carpet premieres for their films.Good Night All.
Good evening! (9:10 Pactime)i havent read most posts yet, but# 968 | kk is that out already? dvd? vhs?
# 970 | Maniston | - I know (((((PAGING CLINIQUA)))))), okay you have a couple minutes but hurry lol
# 967 | stardustwhat?? really? =0
Regarding Ted C., I like him for being honest. In that post, he is just reporting what he was told. And the things he was told are just perceptions of the people reporting. The truth, only BP and AJ know. I also like his honesty in that he thinks JA is a fraud. He also dispersed the rumor that AJ’s boobs are fake. So I can’t say I like him when he says something I like, and then not like him when he says something I dislike, if those things to him are the truth.
