Thanks JJ for the thread and the video, Jon S. is funny as hell and AC what can I say just adorable.

# 5

He is the son of Gloria Vanderbuilt. His brother committed suicide right in front of his mom by jumping off a balcony..I love AC too but he might be starting to get a bit over-exposed and the jealous media types will try to tear him down.. :(

# 3 | curious Hello, Curios,I am just now getting to know him myself. Meaning been reading a lot about him on the net. Also, if I’m still up late at night…I watched his show. This might help you a little…it’s a link.http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0177846/bioIf it’s not enough information about him, try Google, ‘kay.

#5 Oh Andy. Thanks .He does appear to have class and for now, can be looked at as a serious news person, not a celebrity. You are right though, things like overexposure can put him into the "celebrity hollywood" category and he’ll not longer be taken seriously. I used to like and think a lot of Dr. Phil but now he’s gone hollywood and I don’t look at him like a Psychiatrist, I look at him like a celebrity and don’t listen to much of what he says because now I don’t believe he’s sincere. He likes the attention too much.

Either the NY Post or Times, not sure ,had a article about his interview with AJ. They sort of tried to imply that he was trying to act like he was on the same celebrity level as her and was bragging about his reporting in Africa over the years and how great he thinks he is, very mean toned article about him. The reporter really sounded jealous. It is also his claim to fame after Katrina with the great reports he did there and he ended up getting promoted on CNN and took over Aaron Brown’s spot after Larry King. He is the new face of the news now, not people like Katie or the other newscasters…he brings in the younger audience. I think he’s great and I really think his reporting and sensitivity is genuine …

Anyone remember Anderson from the reality show "The Mole"? I loved that show! They were in the middle of a season when 9/11 happened, and they never finished showing the tv show. I’ve always liked him, I’m glad he is getting recognized now, but I too hope it doesn’t bring too much "celebrity" to him. That is too bad about the newspaper article…yeah, they’re jealous!

He has what my friend Mikey says a "stoner" giggle lolIf you guys want to see him giggling a lot check out this interview he did on the Colbert Reporthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTBucsnPZ5I&search=anderson%20cooper%20colbert

Corrie, I was just thinking about the show the Mole with him ! I loved that too! I just purchased his book and hope I can read over the weekend with the rain coming in… grrrrrrrrr.

Just Jared @ 06/23/2006 at 11:03 am

Thanks for that video, Amaya! I wasn’t able to catch Andy on "The Mole" but now I really wish I did!

# 9 | corrieNow I remember.. i believe he finished the first season. I loved that show.

His amazing report of Katrina was spread all over the globe. He is adorable and I like his giggle.

I overlook the giggling because of his focus and content. Without that.. I agree the giggle could get pretty annoying, PDQ. Stay grounded Anderson. We don’t want you to turn into Dr. Phil…even if that’s what you want, dude.

lookwhaticando @ 06/23/2006 at 11:39 am

LOL, at giggles a lot during the show, nice touch.

You’re welcome, Jared! I wish he went on the Colbert Report to promote his book because like TDS, the writers of Colbert seem to love Angelina. Stephen has mentioned her and Brad a lot.

Jared, where are those pics from?

# 9 | corrie | - Yes I remember him from the show the "Mole". I liked that show as well I was mad when it was cancelled

If there ever was a true journalist, one who could carry on the traditions and the high standards of a Peter Jennings, it’s Anderson. And he is in a unique positon. His popularity and his financial independence (He’s a Vanderbilt!) permits him a lot more leeway to report the news the way he feels it should be covered. He’s worked very hard to maintain a high standard and a level of integrity that is currently absent from most news broadcasts. As news networks go, CNN is head and shoulders above the rest, but, sadly, as Jon Stewart so ably points out, even CNN sometimes plays to the cheap seats. Anderson doesn’t talk down to his audience. He’s intelligent and he is determined and the average people who come in contact with him while he covers a Katrina, really look to him to tell the story. The reason why Angelina wanted to interview with Anderson is because he has covered Africa and war zones so extensively over the years and is very knowledgeable about the refugee problem, which was their main focus. If anything, he has a vast amount of experience to share with her. The mean-spirited article about this issue is pure bullshit.Love Jon Stewart, Love Anderson, Love Angelina. That is all. You may continue.

Love Jon Stewart, Love Anderson. That is all.I will do what I wish with or without your permission to continue.

People Magazine in 2002, I think.

andy lover @ 06/23/2006 at 1:55 pm

Moonbeans …are you Gloria Vanderbilt?..lol. You did such a great job on your post you have to be his mommy! ~kidding~..I totally agree with it all~

Interesing, Anderson writes a memoir but of course doesn’t talk about his black lover Julio Ceasar or his homosexual lifestyle. And all the fan girls on this site are pathetic and homophobic. Would they accept Anderson if he came out and be honest about his homosexual lifetyle. I doubt it.

sure I would accept him. There’s nothing wrong coming out and be truthful to himself & others.

I agree with pm. Personally, I don’t care what a person’s sexual orientation is. Then again, I don’t really care about what a person does in his or her’s sex life. In the case of Anderson, he has yet to confirm or deny anything because it’s his right to not talk about his sex life, he’s a news anchorman not a wannabe celebrity that tries to get into the tabloids. If he is, I don’t blame him for wanting to keep it to himself, they’re aren’t any openly gay news anchors. From what I’ve seen, women seem to be a bit more open to gays than men are. When was the last time the news did a story about a group of women/girls beating up a gay person? It’s unfair to assume that all the female posters on here are homophobic. That’s like saying all Christians hate gays and are opposed to gay marriage and that’s not the case. The media only tends to focus on lunatics like Fred Phelps, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and James Dobson.Maybe it’s because I live in Massachusetts, but all my Christian friends are for gays and their right to marry and keep in mind, that most of friends are Catholic. And well know how the pope and the church feels about about this issue.

Amaya- Did you see when Steven Colbert mentioned Brad’s body in Fight Club and how he tried to thow away the dvd five times but it kept reappearing. It was so funny. I can’t get enough of Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert. And even though AC’s laugh can get annoying, I will still watch him because of his coverage of Katrina, since everyone else seems to barely pay any attention to it. He comes across as honest and sincere but he still needs time to grow into a solid journalist.

moonbeams @ 06/23/2006 at 9:45 pm

I am well aware of Anderson being gay. SO WHAT! I think Anderson is the future. He doesn’t conceal his oreintation. He lives his life quite openly in NYC. He just doesn’t discuss his personal life. There’s a difference between things personal and private and things secret and hidden. I think he wants his public life to be defined by his profession and he is very committed to being a very good journalist. And no, I’m not his Mommy. GAWD! I wish!
