Brad Pitt's Hollywood Hills Home

Brad Pitt's Hollywood Hills Home

The rumors are true.  It seems that Brad Pitt is more than a great actor and a pretty face — he also knows quite a bit about architecture, as proved by his modernist masterpiece nestled high in the Hollywood Hills.  Beautifully simple and exuding a zen-like calm — it’s a compelling space even before you find out that it’s home to Hollywood star Brad Pitt.  The fact that he also had a hand in creating it merely adds to the appeal.  "The most important thing I learned with this house is you have to let go of a lot of great ideas for the sake of harmony… I love that architecture is this huge art piece you can be inside.  I believe it lifts your soul and affects your mindset," says Brad. Find out all about Brad’s pad in the gallery, which contains scans of Brad Pitt’s Hollywood Home as featured in the cover story of the July 2006 issue of Elle Decoration Magazine!

#60 - Passing Throughyou may be right…

Alexanderina @ 06/27/2006 at 3:01 pm

# 67 | Estelle | - hey Girl, how is the depos going?

JellyBelly @ 06/27/2006 at 3:02 pm

It might be Zen but it’s not family friendly. It’s sort of morgue like. Also there are lots of of sharp edges and just wait til the kids mess it up with toys.

bunch of loonies @ 06/27/2006 at 3:05 pm

That looks like W magazine pictures. You should have seen the bathroom!!! OMG…fabulous. Also he has these chairs that goes into the walls. Anyway, it looks cold only because there aren’t any furniture in it to clutter up the space. I personally thought the pictures that I saw in the W magazine a few years ago to be fantastic. It’s a great great house. As they say, the house has great bones. With furniture and knick-knacks, it would be calm and cosy and very homey. It’s what you bring into that makes a home, not the walls. Frenchy, I’m a huge HGTV aficianado myself! I agree that the two styles would most definitely work. Actually I think that any style can blend with another if you know what you are doing. Also, when it comes to crayons on walls, they have cleaners to remove those things anyway. It’s to be expected with children that things get messed up and broken, so you just have to have perspective about it, which I’m sure Brad has and Angelina probably has already too. People tend to think that modern and minimalist aren’t homey, but it can most definitely be very inviting. If they plan on having 6-7 children, then they have to get a bigger place…they should start hunting for a place right now and start building!

I forgot to add, those pictures are from a long time ago and since he’s renovated it, who knows what it looks like.

As a design piece its spectacular but as a home its too harsh and cold looking - and that outside space is not child friendly at all. I hope the new changes in progress make the outside safer for the kids - I’m sure they will.

# 76 | Frenchy I meant GATED community. The house looks very Zen.

it’s look like he only wants to show you part of the house that is all Brad’s. I hope architecture Digest pick this up for their’s famous home issue. Last year AD had an issue with famous home and home owner in it ( John Travolta and his wife, Paul Newman, Robert Redford and others)would that be great because Brad has to show the whole house, hopefully, AJ is with him as well…may the kids?.. wishful thinking again…

# 78 | Alexanderina -Hey Alex..we are having our lunch break…it’s going really well, hopefully we can finish everything before 3 p.m., (fingers and toes crosses, well only toes crosses, need fingers to type)

yeah, but... @ 06/27/2006 at 3:13 pm

where are the baby gates? looks like too many some sharp corners and too many steps for wee ones to have the run of this place. so sad….

# 30 | Lynn CampbellI’ve mentioned before that I once lived in the neighborhood of Los Feliz, and one of my fav passtimes was "climbing the hill" to look at all those beautiful homes. It’s where old hollywood first built their homes, and it’s still just as gorgeous. Everytime I’m there I make tracks through it, and also to Griffith Park which it borders. Lots of foliage, lots of privacy. You see the pic’s of Gwen Stefani walking in what looks like a normal neighborhood with sidewalks etc? well she lives up there as do a lot of other celebs, but it’s not so ostentatious as BH, Belair or even Malibu, and has more of a family feel to it. I think Angelina is gonna love it. jpf

brad's pad? @ 06/27/2006 at 3:15 pm

I suppose if he wants a BACHELOR pad…this would be a good choice.

# 81 | bunch of loonies I’m always watching I WANT THAT: Bathrooms & Kitchens. And everytime, I talk back to the tv and say "I want that!" LOL!!!! That channel is the main reason why I want to leave NY. I want an open floor plan house and I can’t do that here. It’s too expensive to do.

Original jpf @ 06/27/2006 at 3:21 pm

# 87 | yeah, butNot so sad, and if some would stop seeking the negative they’d realize that these pic’s were taken prior to the family living there. It was reported repeatedly that the house had been undergoing kid-proofing long before they even returned to the states, and I’m sure that even more has been done since. You’re sad because I bet you’d love to hear one of those babies hurt if it meant getting to say "I told you so."jpf

I don’t know why people are complaining this house is not kids friendly, with all the open space, they can dance without the worry of breaking anything, beside we only get to see part of the house, he might have another part of the house just for the kids only area, I mean look at the Malibu home, the whole tennis court is converted into a play house for Maddox and Z.,

Alexanderina @ 06/27/2006 at 3:22 pm

# 86 | Estelle | - Well that is good if you guys can finish by 3PM, I will keep my toes cross for you as well lol. I am a little bit busy today but that real bad which is good

wise one hehe @ 06/27/2006 at 3:24 pm

Brad has been living with Maddox and Zahara for over a year and now Shiloh. I’m sure by now he has some idea of the mess kids make in a home. And apparantely he doesn’t seem to mind as he he calls the experience so far "sublime".Angelina doesn’t seem all that hung up about decoration or style. And the house is being renovated so I’m sure it will be kid friendly.

mrs. smith @ 06/27/2006 at 3:25 pm

Thanks Jared for the new thread, and gorgeous pic of Brad. As the good Dr. Joyce Brothers once said, "you can make your home anywhere, as long as your children feel safe and secure." With every picture I have ever seen of BAMZS, I’m sure Brad and Ange will make their house a home for everyone, to satisfy each member of the family’s needs, not just one person. The last I heard the renovations were not finished, so I wonder if this is it. Thanks for the song AG.

#89 Maniston,Thank you,its the Los Feliz house. This house is Brad’s favorite and I have a feeling this is the house he always wanted to raise his family in.Thank god for Angelina, his dream will come true.Trolls please stop the phoney concern if this house is child proof.I’m very sure Daddy will take care of that before HIS FAMILY MOVES IN!

Former fan,Quite the opposite for me. I used to not like him at all when he was with Jennifer, the whole thing just seemed superficial but finally I came to the light and saw that it was JA that made me dislike both of them. Now I can see that that relationship was parasitical and he got the raw end of the deal. When he met his match, Angie the world came into focus for him and his dreams were realized. The more I learn about him, the MORE I LOVE HIM AND HIS SWEET FAMILY.New Fan # 61 | annea**********************Annea, this is a wonderful post — I felt the same way, not that I never did not like Brad - I always thought he was much too good for Wnie-iston and Paltry as well…but when he hooked up with Angie - then I became just crazy in luuuv. Something about those two bring out the best in each other, and make each other MORE and BETTER. That’s a rare kind of combo & chemistry.

They havent moved in FOR A REASON…. geesh!

# 93 | Estelle |Have you seen the garden stairs? They go straight down to a concrete area. I am a mother of five and I would bet with all certainty that one of the children would hurt themselves by falling down them at some point, that is unless they cordoned off certain areas, but thats not fun is it? And you just know if the kids are told not to go there they will do their darndest to go there!Having said that I’m sure Brad and Angie are sensible enough to sort it out and keep their precious babies safe.
