The rumors are true. It seems that Brad Pitt is more than a great actor and a pretty face — he also knows quite a bit about architecture, as proved by his modernist masterpiece nestled high in the Hollywood Hills. Beautifully simple and exuding a zen-like calm — it’s a compelling space even before you find out that it’s home to Hollywood star Brad Pitt. The fact that he also had a hand in creating it merely adds to the appeal. "The most important thing I learned with this house is you have to let go of a lot of great ideas for the sake of harmony… I love that architecture is this huge art piece you can be inside. I believe it lifts your soul and affects your mindset," says Brad. Any thoughts? # 106 | CCCC |You know I’ve heard people say I don’t want to be called the most beautiful because those people seem to have the most messed up love lives. I’m sure if you take a minute to think about it, you would agree with that statement.I have always seen Brad and Angelina’s respective loves lives as a bumpy ride. Brad fell in disgustingly sweet love with Gweynth Paltrow and everyone followed that romance. She cheated, the engagement was off and he was nurturing a broken heart. Then started to date and married JA. Everyone followed their lives and many loved the couple. But again, Brad’s desire for a family was sideline. So though many called GP his true love and many others believed him and JA were the ultimate "golden couple" and while everyone seemed to love both couplings, Brad was hurt in each one of those relationships. GP cheated on him and JA wouldn’t start a family.And now here he is with Angelina, who gave him a family with three kids, is inspiring him to do things for others and doesn’t seem to mind his interest in architecture. He seems happy yet many hate Brad for being in this relationship and look at it in a scornful and cynical way.Angelina- She married Johnny lee miller and divorced him. Met BB and married him and divorced him. Adopted Maddox and became a humanatarian and stoped physically hurting herself. Angelina wasn’t the girl people expected to settle down in life and just raise kids. If you mention someone like Jennifer Garner or even Gweynth Paltrow, you expected them to eventually find love in their lives and have a good happy life because in many people’s eyes they are sweet people and good girls. Angelina was someone to be percieved as evil who you expected to have a tumoultous love life and never expected she would have a man in her life to raise her kids with.Many thought she was crazy but never really ever hated her or despised her. They just accepted that her life was not normal to their thinking and didn’t give much thought to her marriages breaking up. Not many articles were written about her pain after divorcing because people don’t think of her as one to be pained by something so they just recognized her divorces as a fact and not much more. She wasn’t one that people felt pity for even when she divorced BB because he didn’t want Maddox as a son. And when Angelina got together with Brad who not only willingly accepted her son as his own but also adopted another child with her and then they got pregnant , people went ballastic. Here was a woman who had two kids, was pregnant and had a man by her side the entire time. All’s good right?NO. The problem was that this wasn’t any woman, it was Angelina Jolie. The so called freak and nutjob having it all. And having it with Brad Pitt. The midwest boy who everyone thought was supposed to marry a golden haired princess and live happily ever after. That hope shattered and people got a big slap of reality. And how do people deal with reality when it doesn’t fit their perceptions of right and wrong, they either go into denial, accept it or start being bitter about what they now know to be the truth.So my facination with this couple is that it involves two very different people from very different worlds who came together because ultimately they had the same desires and needs in life. Also these people were percieved very differently in public before they started to be together. One being the golden hollywood man and the other the dark haired vixen who was a misfit.And yet when I look at them, it makes complete sense to me why they are together. I know…..go figure. So there you have it. Why I’m facinated by this couple. Maybe it will help you understand why your here as well.To those who disagree: you have every right to because this is JMHO. Ignore it if you think it’s complete BS. I’m just responding to #106 CCCC.
To the people feigning concern for the safety of the children–get a life. The pretend concern is so unwarranted because B and A ADORE their children. Although Brad is a lover of architecture, he wouldn’t risk the safety of his children so he can have an interesting house. To suggest otherwise is just plain dumb. I can’t believe I am taking the time to respond to this, cause its so idiotic. Go pick on someone who actually does endanger their children, I won’t name names.

This house would require some major childproofing…so many hard edges. That said I’m a fan of modernism and minimalism but this is just not doing it for me.

((((STANDING OVATION FOR ‘me’ aka #126!!))))Excellent post - that really does lie at the heart of it, and when you add in the fact that AJ looks the way she looks…well, then the hate is intensified 10 times over. Along with several of the reasons you state, prior to Angelina, Brad hadn’t really dated anyone, that was technically prettier than he was (Thandie Newton comes to mind…she’s beautiful), but other than her - the women were, ‘meh,’ in the looks department. Not that they didn’t clean up nice, and dress stylish - be it Paltry or Whine-iston, they DO have a kind of fashion sense…but in terms of bone structure and classical beauty, sorry - they just didn’t cut it, and Brad always came out on top. Angie’s the first woman who rivals HIM in that area. I think if they ever do walk down the red carpet together, it will be the first time, that people will literally not be able to take their eyes off either one of them. With Jennifer Whine-iston, the fascination was cleary *who she was with* - end of story. Same deal with Paltry. For the first time, it’s not only who Angelina’s with, it’s who Brad is with as well. He now has someone who’s got the same kind of charisma and beauty quotient as himself.Some people, especially women - cannot stand that one woman gets to have all of that — usually women are missing something..they have the beauty, but maybe not the talent, or they have the talent, but maybe they’re no so charitable and compassionate, or they have the beauty, but they just haven’t seemed to find the right guy…most women have a drawback, that enables us to say, okay - I don’t have too much of a problem with her, after all - she may look like THAT but she can’t sing with a damn….or she may have that great looking guy, but jeebus look at that face….With AJ, she just has NO drawbacks..she’s got the talent, the beauty, the compassion, the man of her dreams, the beautiful babies, the respect around the world….. I mean, I can really see why some people, mostly women who don’t even have ONE of any of those things (Hi Chin!) For those who are asking, they featured Brad’s real estate on the Insider and on the VHI Crazy Celeb things (about real estate). He had 4 properties they said and the one in Los Feliz is where they have 3 shifts of workmen working on renovations around the clock!All those people who are kibbitzing on the sidelines should be happy to know that they are doing changes (isn’t that what renovations are?) and they were busy childproofing the house. Now, they wouldn’t childproof a house if there is no intention of having children there, is it?And if this is what it was like in 2001, then it shows just where his head’s at in the time he was with the X. She didn’t want to live in it because she said it was just too cold and the furnishings were uncomfortable. So I guess Mr. Pitt was taking that into consideration this time around. He didn’t want Angelina to turn tail and complain about it not being comfortable for her and the kids. Shows you where his heart and head is now, doesn’t it?

Ok, Ivy, I didnt think it was the Malibu house.I laughed when I saw the Bubble chair. It is very expensive. A few thousand $$$$. I love this house. Brad has really an architectural eye. I wish I had the money to realize my dreams of building a modern house. I can only look at magazines… :(I think this house suits Brad’s personality. Its raw, natural, unobstructed, bold, strong, and intelligent.Oh how I wish to meet this man or a man like him…:)I hope Angelina knows what she’s got.I love this man more and more. I love his mature looks, especially the photo in Newsweek. And now this. Brad is coming to his own, realizing his life long dreams and ideas about life. It’s beautiful to watch him.

imo the pictures are about showcasing the more design-oriented aspects of the house. the magazine photographers and writers would not be interested in the family areas where the furnishings are probably less trendy. the rooms of the house that weren’t photographed are probably the most comfortable and child-friendly and these are probably the areas where they will spend the majority of their time at home. so, i don’t think anyone needs to worry about child safety chez jolie-pitt.to MICKEY BRETT: thanks for having my back. i had to run some errands, but i saw that you were right here as promised!to I’m New (forgive me, Mickey!): i’m flattered that you’re taking my advice. please help me understand why gitane, of all the bloggers on this site, is particularly fascinating to you. it might help me be more comfortable with responses to your posts.

For some reason I still cannot get over the fact that there are a lot of women who say Pitt cheated-I am working on an article and I just want to point out the following:Aniston’s friends were particularly horrified by W magazine’s 60-page photo spread featuring Pitt and Jolie as an early-1960s-style married couple with a brood of miniature blond Brads. "You want to shake the **** out of him and say, ‘Your timing sucks!’" says one.
