In the women’s mags: Brad - the greatest guy in the worldMonday July 24, 2006Brad Pitt is (sigh) perfect. Woman’s Weekly is full of Angelina Jolie gushing (through unnamed friends, of course) about her hunky partner being "the greatest guy in the world and the best father there can be".It appears that having a baby with Angelina and adopting her two adopted children, Maddox and Zahara, has made Pitt ditch his selfish Hollywood lifestyle to focus on the kids. No more meeting George Clooney for cocktails. It’s all about the kids, whether that is figuring out how to put those damn nappies on or teaching Maddox to kick a soccer ball. The article also goes on about Pitt’s love for Jolie and how he spends a good deal of time hugging her. Well, what man wouldn’t?**************************Do your duty BAMZSers!! Please go out and SUPPORT WOMEN’S WEEKLY!! Boycott every other bullshit rag that may slander the family. Make them feel it in the pocketbook - the good BAMZS stories GET BOUGHT, all tabloid lies and negativity get LEFT ON THE SHELF, that’s how it goes as deemed by the BAMZS ACTION COMMITTEE (aka BAC). Seriously, I need to get my hands on Women’s Weekly. :-D

Do all black people wear their pants like that? Do all black ppl name their kids with the names you used-Do all black people love hip hop and reggae? The answer is no. Unfortunately you must live in a rural area where your only exposure to black ppl is limited. Let me help you a little ok? Socioeconomics and environment determines what the greatest influences will be on a person’s life. This means Money separates people into different categories(not classes). It is very unlikely that black people who are educated, married, and economically healthy, demonstrate the characteristics you spoke of-This holds true for any race. On the other hand, when ppl are less educated(high school diploma or less), are not married(but are parents), are economically and socially unhealthy, then you will see some of the characteristics that you spoke of. Again, this is not specific to one race or another. It’s just economics and social exposure. For this reason, I am lead to conclude that you are either trying to bait others into a tennis match of name calling or you belong to the category of those who are not educated, socially prepared and or economically healthy. No matter what your race or nationality is, anyone who holds your opinion would be considered ignorant and socially retarded. If you are in high school let me urge you to work hard and get the best GPA you can. Then apply to a college thousands of miles away from where you live. Preferably one that has a very diverse student population. When you have a break over christmas or in the summer-travel to a thirdworld country and volunteer-It will be the best experience in your life-by the way, I wish you the best because we cannot afford to have people like you continue to hold the beliefs that you do. Your thoughts are eerily similar to what radical muslims think of all US citizens.-Mommalibu

# 2132 2Sorry-momalbu See, all you’ve said of course wasn’t wasted on people like myself, and others who find benefit in it, but SORRY was provided with a plethora of counter arguments when she/he first posted their incredible limited pov of life outside her little world, and so yeah, while a steady drip can change the shape of any rock, SORRY seems quite content with leaving things just the way they are where her mind & heart are concerned.jpf

# 2131 | CLINIQUA Will do… I am with you.

Angelina Jolie loves so much people with strong features and flaws - then she definitely went off course with Brad Pitt, he’s practically flawless!!

Tell the truth on this one: are your lips real?- Yes! And so are my breasts! (Big laugh) # 2110 | Angie Jolie | That’s why I think BP loves her even more than he thinks he ever could. Imagine, before he met her for the movie, he probably was told by X and her friends, that AJ is all fake: lips, nose, boobs, personality. And what did he find? Physically: natural lips, boobs, nose, everything. Mentally: a caring, intelligent, sweet, clued up person. What a pleasant surprise! That’s why he said in the Diane Sawyers’s interview: "Angie is the most misconceived person in the industry". And I am sure he loves her much more just for that. Compared to what he had with X: "America’s sweetheart" that is insecure, mean, dumb, shallow, self-centered (I came to this conclusion from her interviews). And the haters blame him for opening his eyes.

Hie everyone, to those who say BRAD is not committed please go to THE NAMIBIAN and go to their ARCHIVE JUNE 8,Brad is talking a lot and he sure loves his girls what hr says about Angie and Shiloh is sweet.

Morning All,Another day, another issue….despite the crazy war of words, we do learn new things everyday#2123 / SORRYIt saddens me that you won’t open your self up to understanding other cultures. No one is saying you should live the culture or anything like that and before I go on, I want to say I don’t believe you are racist, I think you’re justtoo content with your own world……which is not neccesarily a bad thing but c’mon, where is the fun in that? Have you ever wondered why the Greeks jump the broom? The significance of the Holy Fire when Indians get married? Ever wondered why some African Wedding Ceremonies last days (Trust me, it isn’t because we want to party for seven days straight)….these are very interesting cultural things and understanding them….well, it makes you less ignorant for instance, someone is reading your commentis probably going "what in the world? Does she think all black people say dawg or ***** after every sentence?"….Not only have you made assumptions about black people, which without a doubt going to cause a few people to flare up and before you know what hit….we’re having a cyberwar, you’ve also shown the world just how ingnorant people are in this day and age. The assumptions people make about others are often times the reason why there is no peace. After 9/11, I heard the phrase "A need for Cross Cultural understanding, now more than ever" thrown around a lot. This was what Daniel Pearl was trying to do when he lost his life…..now, now don’t let that be excuse for sticking to only what you know because like everything else, there are extremes. We’ve got the Fantical Christians and Muslims who take a section of the Holy Book and live by it, we"ve got the KKK….and so on. The reason why I bring DP into this is because this man felt Cross Cultural understanding was so important issue, he went to a place considered a Hot Zone. He understood that as much as we would love it, No Man is an Island. I bet you’re thinking all of this just because you don’t want to see certain movies? Well yes because we all have to start somewhere. Say for instance, If I watch a movie and I see them do something "odd" I want to know about it. I don’t know how many times I’ve started a sentence with the words "I know this going to sound dumb but why do you do this…." And you know what majority of the people I ask such things say……."No, no that’s not dumb at all" and they share. People love to talk to others about what makes them different….just ask (or go online). So from watching a movie, I know a little and when next I see it been done, I don’t turn up my nose at it. Those things aren’t important to me but at least I know why it is important to them and I also know how to conduct myself when I am with them. The fact that it isn’t important to you or me does not mean it’s not important at all. If you take a look at the history of movie making, you see that one of the reasons for movies is to bridge gaps (cultural, intellectual, physical) amongst people. We don’t need a yearly Summit to understand how to prevent wars when the answer is quite simple….get to know who your neighbor is. I know it sounds too simple but think about it, if you know what he holds dear and why he does, you’re less likely to rubbish it by doing and say something offensive and more likely to stop a fight and who knows, someday, a war.By the way, after reading a few of the posts, I realize I may have misunderstood what Lady L was saying. Sorry about that, it is hard to keep track of who is saying what when the Non fans are here. (Thanks KK for clearing that up). I am all alone in the house and it is beautiful! Sorry, didn’t mean to rub it in for those at work….or maybe I did. Aah, don’t worry I’m sure I’ll get mine back in spades.

I am quite fascinated by the discussion on the distribution of films here. I am a Black female filmmaker. I have graduated from the top film school in the US, NYU. I have been struggling for years to get my film made. My script has won several small awards, etc.It is the most IMPOSSIBLE thing to do - trying to get a film made.First of all, it is all who you know. People whose Daddy are Studio bosses will get films made in a heartbeat. If you don’t have a Dad who is a Studio boss then your Daddy beter really really wealthy.Secondly, I have taken meetings with studio heads. They always want a film that is exactly like the last big hit. Also, they want to know who is the star in your project, etc. What if you can’t get a star? What star is going to cmmit to a small film with no major star attached, with no budget or no secured investor? None. Also, what a lot of people don’t understand, a lot of films can sit in development for years, decades even and never get done. Having a studio attached is no guarantee that a film will actually get made.I have friends who have sold scripts and eventhough the script got optioned, it never gets made. Also, it is very difficult for a woman to sit in a meeting with studio bosses and convince him her movie is worth making.Everybody wants a big action boy’s film. That is why Devil Wears Prada was a relief - it made money and has a female lead. The same with black films. No one wants to make them. When you make them, no one goes to see them. Everybody wants to go see Spiderman.Yes, you can go outside of the studio system. I have done that. I maxed out on credit cards just to get a trailer together to get my film out to investors. There was some money invested but not the $2 million we are looking for (which is considered a small budget). To their credit, even big stars can’t get films made. Salma Hayek tried for years to make Frida. Enventhough she got it made, there are still many great Latina filmmakers and even well know actresses who can’t get investors, stars, or any backing for their film.Unless, you are in this industry and maxing out on your credit cards, or a famous actor who can’t get a film made because it does not meet te standards of Hollywood - please don’t judge. People think big star=ability to greenlight a film. No! It is hard out here - and I am not even a Pimp :)

I’m sure some may not know that Jonny Lee Miller isn’t Angelina’s ex, I mean it’s not impossible but it’s a hard one for me to believe whether ones a friend or a foe of AJ. On that same note, many may not be aware that the guy will be a part of the cast of the new tv show SMITH, or that it’s being shot in HW. Now bear with me here for a moment. Others are telling Lady L everything else about how green Brad is about this certain someone, but they don’t mention that it’s Angie’s ex, and she doesn’t ask?! She’s been privy to info about the most famous couple in the world and chooses not to delve deeper into why BP is acting as he is?Do you understand what I’m saying AG? In my lurking lately I’ve noticed the new trend is to play the "oh I’m a fan" role (until the truth is revealed) and IMO Lady L is one of the better ones. She’s just vague enough to sound plausible. It’s interesting to me and a few more that what she "heard" mirrors the Tab story’s out there right now. And speaking of that, in another post she tosses out the "you just wait and see" about it being in all the mags soon when someone questions the validity. Now which is it? She’s sketchy on the details, but affirmative about the news hitting the stands soon? Do you understand my serious skepticsim here?jpf

#2124 My opinionI notice how you carefully step around the s*** piles that you and other Chin fans leave on here, but point out the BAMZS fans’ reactions (yes, we’re as sure Shiloh is Brad’s baby as we are that Jen has slept with anyone who she thought would look good next to her). Yeah, Brad and Angie would be proud of us BAMZS fans — we tell the truth, the whole truth, and are totally unafraid of the truth!!Try it sometime, you’ll have to leave your lying witch idol behind, but the freedom and joy that comes with facing the truth is so exhilerating, you won’t have to scream at the ocean to reach such bliss!

# 2143 | reelgirlI am also into filmaking but not the interesting part of it. I’m burdened with the task of rereading and researching scripts (Boring…no?). Anyway, a few days I shared about a friend who had a hard time getting his movie distributed, well two days ago, he got a letter from Blockbuster and Hollywood video (nation wide), they want to have his movie on shelf. I know it’s nothing compared to having major studios carry your movie but it is something. Hopefully, his movie will catch one of the studio executives eyes and the rest will be history. Why don’t you try that and it’s a bonus that you’ve received awards. Good Luck.# 2144 | Original jpf |I know what you mean. I guess we just have to take everything anyone says with a grain of salt.

Sorry,You know why you are a racist? Not because you can’t relate to the portion of the population you are describing, but because you think all black people are that way. I could describe white people as living in trailers sporting more tattoos than teeth, using poor grammar, a limited vocabulary, beating their wives and eating roadkill, but you would have to admit, that while there is a segment of the population that is like that, it is not indicative of the majority, let alone the whole. If you refuse to see movies like How Stella Got Her Groove Back, about a successful corporate woman facing a crossroads in life who happens to be black, or other movies mentioned which are about PEOPLE, not one kind of person you and most people cannot relate to, then you are CHOOSING to be ignorant and not learn about the people around you and instead are relying on stereotypes and a few of the flamboyant jerks you see on TV to form your opinions. I used to know a very conservative old-fashioned older woman, the kind who refused to sell her house to a black person because she "wouldn’t do that to her neighbors". She went to see Sister Act with Whoopi Goldberg. I was surprised, and she said, "Yeah, I know she’s black, but it looked like it might be a funny movie and it was, and it wasn’t about her being black so I could enjoy it." So you see, you’re never too old to try something new! It’s like they say, There is no difference between someone who can read and doesn’t, and someone who can’t. Get out of your comfort zone and learn something.

^^^African Girl, nice to hear you are interested in films too. Where are you located? In the US?It’s hard work. One of my dear friends is also a filmmaker and writer. She is really smart. She has no awards yet but she is on her way I am sure of it. She works for a TV show right now.We all must do what we can. The studios don’t have well figured out. It’s ashame. Like the Indie films that broke through in the late 80’s and 90’s, I think there will be a resurgence of Indie films.Right now, Indie almost does not exist. Sundance is full of stars and Paris Hilton. So it is I think harder these days to get a small film off the ground - even for well connected film people.Good luck to you!
