Pitt pushing the right ‘Button’Thesp outfits summer skedBrad Pitt’s calendar is now very full.Thesp has committed to star in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," a Paramount/Warner Bros. co-production, which he’ll make after he reprises his role this summer in the Steven Soderbergh-directed "Ocean’s Thirteen" at Warner Bros.Pitt is also circling Universal’s "State of Play," the pricey Americanized adaptation of the acclaimed British miniseries. Matthew Carnahan is writing the script. Pitt is interested in playing a journalist and former campaign manager of a fast-rising politician who unravels a murder conspiracy involving his former boss."Button," which has been on Pitt’s radar for at least a year, re-teams the thesp with his "Fight Club" director David Fincher and Cate Blanchett, his "Babel" co-star. The project has been developed for more than a decade in several different incarnations.Scripted by Eric Roth from a story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, drama casts Pitt as a man who hits age 50 and begins aging backward. Complications ensue when he falls in love with a woman of 30. "Button," which is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall, is likely to start production in late fall.Pitt wrapped "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" in December. Through his Plan B banner, Pitt is also a producer of "A Mighty Heart," the Michael Winterbottom-directed drama for Paramount Vantage that will star Angelina Jolie as slain journalist Daniel Pearl’s widow Marianne. I’m more convinced than ever that it’s going to do well with paying audiences over 25 or 30 because it’s about parenting and children, and who outside of childless singles doesn’t have strong feelings about that? Memories and worries and regrets to dip into? It sank in emotionally a little deeper because I saw it at home in a more settled frame of mind, and not in one of those cranked-up states that I’m always in during the Cannes Film Festival."

And, last thought to she who was blown away by AJ’s book, who would not have something affecting to say? However, when someone spends 36 to 48 hours ‘in the field’ at any location, how much are they roughing it? She has the nearest 5 star or equivalent before and after her day or day and a half at these ‘gigs’ — and I call them gigs cuz the bottom line is it’s all about elevating herself to a different level, especially when she seriously needed it cuz the goth thing was back-slipping for her big time.
