Scope out actor-director Mel Gibson’s mug shot released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. This booking photo was taken early Friday after being arrested on drunken driving charges, making anti-Semitic remarks, and threatening a deputy law enforcement official. EKKS! Poor Mel!

Lurpac - if that is the case then fair enough, but I didn’t think any of that was public domain, the coverage i saw suggested that this had all come from reporters saying that was the case, I mean if their was audio and video evidence in circulation - I’m surprised we haven’t seen it, the net being pretty good at getting this stuff out fast. He was drunk, he has problems, he clearly needs to work on that stuff and he has apologised etc etc and checked himself into rehab - but I still don’t believe there is evidence other than what a few journalists are claiming and accusing the sheriffs dept of not releasing, with regards to the anti-semitism - and I don’t believe the news media any more - they’ve made too much stuff up to many times, sorry. That’s not specific to Gibson, I take all celebrity coverage with a pinch of …. I have no problem with accepting his apology I’m just questioning the accuracy of all that is alleged because I know how the media exaggerates and twists everything these day. They can say or do pretty much what they want, I mean who are the media accountable to? and everyone believes it - likes it’s 100% gospel.
In a world where the president can get blow jobs from some bimbo in the white house and still be hailed as a great president - where a socialite can become even more famous for making a porno movie with her boyfriend - where drugged out movie stars can make glorious comebacks and two-bit actresses can get in car wrecks and run wild - Mel will be just fine. He’s got bazillions of dollars and even if he never makes another movie again, he’ll be just fine. He doesn’t need Hollywood to do his things, but they sure need him, so he’ll be fine.
Mel opened up his mouth and his brains fell out. That’s life!! People get drunk and say ’stupid’ things. My uncle use to get drunk and tell my aunt he hated her guts, yet he loved her to death. When she died, he was never the same. He never hit her, but when he got drunk, everyone left the room, let him sober up and that was that. Mel has a problem he needs to address. As far as this war with Lebanon is concerned, why does the US continue to send arms to Israel? The President tells Iran to stop sending arms to Lebanon, but we continue to send arms to Israel? WHY? Everytime a gun is found by a captured or killed Israeli, the gun says, "Made in the USA". WE, the American people pay, because all the Muslim Fanatics think we support the killing. WE PAY!! This war started over two captured soldiers, and innocent young people in Lebanon are being killed? WHY? I guess Mel woke up saw the news, got a bit drunk and it’s the first thing that came out of his mouth. I’m not making excuses for him, but he’s not the first person who opened his mouth and got knocked for it. Is Mel’s career over, NO!! He can produce and distribute his own films. Rumour in Hollywood was that Steven Spielberg wasn’t given an Academy Award until he made Scendler’s (spelling) list because he was Jewish. They tried not to give him one for a long time, but could not not give it to him for SL. Hollywood is about money. As long as Mel brings in the money, people will forget. That’s just the way it is. Mel needs to get a driver!!!

I guess I didn´t want to see that someone who actually makes very valid points on another matter, can literally blows everything with so full-hated comments about another issue. #68. Several of my friends who happen to be Jewish went to see "Passion" and they didn’t think it was anti-semi either. One of the actresses in the movie is Jewish herself and said she would not have been part of the movie if she felt it was. We must all remember something as well, Jewish is not a ‘Nationality’, it’s a religion. Why is it that some Jewish people say, "I’m Jewish", but never "I’m American, Canadian, English", etc? Not all Jews in American support Israel. They don’t like the way the Israelis have treated the Palestians and they also are not looked at by the Israelis as "real" Jews. I don’t get it, but this is what my Jewish friends tell me. SAD, VERY SAD.

Anna, I know it’s difficult to believe that people you like can do bad things, but this is NOT the media saying it. The police refused to release it BECAUSE he said those things and then the media accused them of favoritism and they released it. It’s the POLICE, if you actually read something besides celeb sites and learn the difference between journalism and gossip. Being drunk is no excuse — it shows what’s really on your mind. Cliniqua-I usually support what you write but this time you took it too far. You have every right to express your opinion but atleast don’t do it in such a deragtory and offensive way. You don’t have to like Mel, hell you can hate him for all I care, but next time when you want to express your opinion, try be less offensive. If had said what you wanted to say without offending everyone, your opinions would have sounded more reasonable.

I completely echo what Remember da truth said. Cliniqua is very passionate and people are attacking her becasue she is so blunt and they don’t like her from other threads. When you throw in race and religion, things get rather spicy, especially on a message board when much is lost in tone and inflection. People go off on all kinds of tangents that don’t have anything to with the subject at hand. Everyone just needs to step back and take a deep breath.

Mel has wronged, drive booze is stupid,can kill someone and hurt oneself. For his comments the alcohol can make you tell what that you neither think. I agree that he made a mistake and this should not be taken lightly?However, I cannot understnad why no single Jew (e.g. Natalie Portman) has come out and condemn the murderous behavior of their Israeli brothers who are now on a rampage killing innocent children in Lebanon?Why is the ADL condemning Mel for a racist comment and yet ignoring the evil acts and atrocities committed by Jews of Israel in Lebanon?just asking….

mell is all over the news, I have know idea whats in his mind but his movies are epic, and I loved Brave heart, The Passion was intense for me I fast forward all the bloody parts, the end of the movie when Mary says to jesus (my flesh of flesh, my heart of hearts let me die with you!) broke me down and I cried like a baby

I think Mel Gibson staged his own arrest by the LA police. He made sure that the incident will become a BIG news … and he succeeded. Now everybody knows that he has a forth coming movie the "ACALYPTO".
Well anonimo, I say that because you tend to drop your inhibitions and you don’t edit yourself when you are drunk. Not everyone is that way, but alot of people are. I guess I should have qualified my statement by saying "most people". Now money, always, always, amplifies who you really are. Just look at all the jerks running around who have won alot of money in the lottery. So, maybe the alcohol is only part of it. Maybe it is that he is a rich drunk, so he really doesn’t keep himself in check.
Cliniqua. If you can tell me to my face, then I respect that. I see how passionate you are about things, but the ‘naughty’ language is what turns me off. We have a President in the US right now, put there by ‘Christian’ groups because he used the ’scare’ tactics and look what’s happened to what once was a ‘respected’ country. So, I promise to read all your comments, but hope that you won’t use such ’strong, naughty’ language next time.

Now he went in rehab and i hope that this work on. For his bigoty or prejudice if he isn’t changed since now he will change never. But i don’t think that hate him will make you better. I don’t get some people’s point of view on Christianity. I guess we can only go by what WE ourselves hold true in our hearts. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I always thought that if you claim to be a christian, that doesn’t mean that you are claiming that your perfect. It means your saying that you need GOD in your life because you are far from perfect. I claim to be a christian, -not because I’M PERFECT, but because I NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET in life. I mess up all the time. I’ve delt with alcohalism and everything else you can think of. It’s a hard thing, but I got through it. Thank GOD I didn’t have every Joe in america passing judgment on me.
