They may have always thought of themselves as extremely fashionable, but now Kanye West and Gwen Stefani have empirical proof that they’re style leaders — the pair have been named to Vanity Fair’s 2006 International Best-Dressed List for the first time. Social correspondent for Vanity Fair Amy Fine Collins said: "Gwen and Kanye are big-time style leaders… They both have such distinct, strong styles and are completely visible and influential… Gwen is fearless. She can go drop-dead glamorous and pull it off better than anyone else. She goes to extremes of glamour, partly by channeling old-time movie stars like Jean Harlow and by looking to artists for inspiration like Frida Kahlo, who she named her as one of her style influences. She is not afraid of looking like someone else, being glamorous in an elegant way and sexy and risqué without looking trashy. She understands fashion from the inside out because she’s a designer too. She’s also in touch with her masculine side and gets inspiration from her husband’s [Gavin Rossdale] closet. She experiments and she succeeds."

I agree completely!!And let’s not forget Kate Moss was inducted into Vanity Fair’s Best Dressed Hall of Fame. Gwen and Kate are personal style icons of mine despite the fact that they can be very controversial. They take risks. Sometimes the result is less than fashionable but I applaud their fearlessness in the face of homogeneously-styled pop stars and starlets. They continue to do their own thing in a climate that stifles experimentation and individuality.
Gwen really deserves this!!!Not only does she give us her gorgeous LAMB line and the fun and perky Harajuku Lovers, she herself is a constant inspiration to all fashionista’s!!Just remember how stunning she looked when she was pregnant with baby Kingston!!Congratulations Gwen!!
Um no she’s a miss here. A TRACKSUIT? WTF? and with sandals? She’s looking very grandma these days. Gwen grow up and be the sopisticated woman we all know you are. You’re pushing 40. This look is so 80’s. What’s next wearing leg warmers or shoulder pads?

Giving her an award for years of tacky dressing and disgusting looking hair just shows how pathetic the world of fashion has become. She has hideous taste and there is nothing classy or classic about her style. Just look at a close up of her head. The color alone is hideous, but they pin head style is just down right fugly.
WHATEVER…this chick only wears mismatch crap,…Heidi Klum dresses MUCH better in her pregnancy then Gwen, only mental patients would wear her crazy tastless clothes…NOBODY follows her style in real life.
Did anyone actually see the clothes she was wearing during her pregnancy? Horrible is the only word that comes to mind. That’s the first time I started noticing her "sense of fashion". And then remembered all the other things she use to wear before, AWFUL. I will never understand how she is called a fashion icon. I like Gwen as a person, overall she hasn’t done any harm to anyone in particular, but she should not be on this list.
She is very creative and I love her overall fashion. this might not be her best outfit, but her fashion and style choices are bold, rock and roll, and FUN!You guys remember fun, right?
Style icon? Sorry, I think she looks ridiculous. Her hair looks dirty and damaged. It would seem this woman has a tremendous amount of money. Why is she choosing to look like this?
Best dresse? In that tracksuit? With those shoes that cannot contain her nasty toes? And that sticky pompadour thing on her head? And those cheap-looking Walmart sunglasses? What are you all smoking? Taking risks doesn’t make you best-dressed, it just makes you clueless to what people around you are saying. And for those of you who think she wore her pregnancy well - WTF? She was a wreck. God-awful. Still is.
First of all, to all those who say she is out of shape…SHE JUST HAD A BABY! Yeah, some celebrities come back a week later and are thin as a rail…but maybe Gwen wants to spend time with Kingston instead of a trainer. ALSO…she is not going to be unhealthy and not eat like most of those people do. SHE cares about her health because she has a newborn that relies on her! 2nd…tanned nasty skin will get you nothing but skin cancer. GO GWEN for not being a tan salon junkie. And seriously people…in case you haven’t noticed red lipstick is her thing! She IS an icon! Maybe if you guys pulled yourself out of the GAP and took a look at high fashion…you will see that she is very deserving of this title! Once again…ROCK ON GWEN!

She is totally way hotter without the bottle peroxide due. I also love her new LAMB fashion line, though it really doesn’t really function in to the middle-lower class pocketbook. As Far As Style Icon, I would say yes…she is bold and daring enough to wear things that all the hollywood "socialites" purchase in bulk to "fit in" with the rest of hollywood. Go Gwen!! i would totally due you…and your husband…just please, lay off the bleach.
