They may have always thought of themselves as extremely fashionable, but now Kanye West and Gwen Stefani have empirical proof that they’re style leaders — the pair have been named to Vanity Fair’s 2006 International Best-Dressed List for the first time. Social correspondent for Vanity Fair Amy Fine Collins said: "Gwen and Kanye are big-time style leaders… They both have such distinct, strong styles and are completely visible and influential… Gwen is fearless. She can go drop-dead glamorous and pull it off better than anyone else. She goes to extremes of glamour, partly by channeling old-time movie stars like Jean Harlow and by looking to artists for inspiration like Frida Kahlo, who she named her as one of her style influences. She is not afraid of looking like someone else, being glamorous in an elegant way and sexy and risqué without looking trashy. She understands fashion from the inside out because she’s a designer too. She’s also in touch with her masculine side and gets inspiration from her husband’s [Gavin Rossdale] closet. She experiments and she succeeds."

I love Gwen( been a ND fan since 94′..old skool for sure!), but you guys, we have to stay serious here: She’s not thaaat much of a style icon. Most of her outfits, when she performs, they seem to be OK, but then theres that ONE little thing that screws up the outfit, and Ive got SO MANY pictures to prove so.To be honest with you, I think you are more creative when you can come up with fashions working with very limited colors, ie goth-style, etc.Just because someone doesn’t conform to the general idea of fashion.. I don’t think they should automatically be crowned an ICON.I should have elaborated on that a little bit more, but I think you all understand where I’m coming from.BTW, just because someone disagrees with Gwen’s fashion, that DOESN’T make them a "Gwen Hater"..take it from someone who’s been on their boat since ‘94. It just means they have sense. :-)
oh yeah, this suit is ok, but that ONE THING that throws it off, is the footwear, sorry Gwen..even for alternative style, it’s a miss. But she’s come a LONG way, and Im proud of her, though for her accomplishments.
Whoah she IS actually wearing vampy heels with a track suit?! WTF anyone outside of New Jersey caught wearing a track suit in public is no longer a fashion icon. End of story.
Didn’t Chanel have some rule about how you remove one piece of jewelry before you leave the house. Would someone please please tell Stefani that-except I think it’s true too for all those awful animal prints she piles on top of each other. Why is the media fueling her delusion of being a fashion “icon.”
Does anyone remember Nick Tortelli’s mistress on Cheers? Except Stefani really needs a boob job if she’s going for that trashy gun moll look. And I hate implants.
