OlderJon Voight Loves Shakira
Angelina Jolie’s estranged father Jon Voight sent a shout out to his grandkids Saturday, but it seems like absence makes the memory grow weaker — he royally screwed up one of the names. At the fourth annual BAFTA Tea Party (BAFTA is the Oscars for Brits), Voight was talking with a reporter on the red carpet when he decided to send birthday wishes to Maddox, Angelina’s five-year-old child. That went well, but then things took an ugly turn. Voight also sent well-wishes to "Shakira" — problem is, he was talking about Angelina’s 1 1/2-year-old daughter. Shakira is considerably older — 29. The correct name — Zahara. Close, but no cigar.
HAHAHAHA. What a terrible grandfather!! How could Jon Voight mistake SHAKIRA for ZAHARA? HAHAHAHA. Not a good way to fall under the good grace’s of your daughter… Do yourself a favor and watch the hilarious clip!

Well first that video is hilarious. Second why does he do this stuff on national tv. Ouch. #14 is right, we have never met the kids but we still would know their names. Sure, we are obsessed with them, but shouldn’t their grandpa be also? I had a feeling for an instant that he did it on purpose to "make a point", and if he did, I pity the fool, as Mr. T used to say. It just amazes me how much the media is driving this story of the Jolie/Voight rift. Because Brad & Angelina have kept their mouths shut and say nothing, the mags & the entertainment shows stoop to questioning her Dad about things they KNOW he knows nothing about. Just to get a sound bite about Brad & Angelina. On the other hand, I have to agree that Angelina is right to keep her kids away from Jon Voight. If he had any REAL interest in healing the rift, outside of publicity, he would say "no comment" whenever someone points a mic in his face on all those red carpets events he attends. He hasn’t learned a thing!I also take the media to task because according to them, Angelina must be theonly celeb that is on the outs with a parent. What about Sarah Michelle Gellar who cut off her Dad too! He died a few years ago, and they never made up…..Kate Hudson acknowledges Kurt Russell as her father, and even pissed off her real dad by naming her son after Kurt….But Gellar’s dad is dead, and Hudson is not as famous as Jon Voight for the media to sniff around them!I’m sure there are other stars that don’t talk to a parent. In their rush to get ANY MORSEL of info about Brad & Angelina, they are using….USING….Jon Voight…..but he’s not smart enough to realize it…or maybe he realizes that Angelina will NEVER let him back into her life and is using the rift to keep his name out there!
I’ll bet Grandpa Voight would have no problem remembering Baby Zahara’s name if he got to spend time with her. There are all sorts of people in our lovely world. Let he/she who is without sin cast the first stone. I hope Grandpa Voight and Baby Angelina rekindle their relationship and experience love for each other like they have never known before. Sometimes folks fall down. I like helping them up rather than kicking them in the head. I would love to see a picture where Mr. Voight is holding his Baby Angelina while she is in turn is holding her babies. Kind of like a Pieta. Joy to the world!

I don’t read tabs like Star magazine, Life and style magazine, it is just a waste of time. But for people believe the stories that come out of star more power to you. I actually like to read Newsweek because believe or not there’s more important issues going on besides celebrity gossip. Voight doesn’t know his grandchild’s name ? Oh well too bad for him.
when will JV stop communicating with his daughter through the press; have you learned nothing from the yrs of isolation? angie will never have a relationship with you as long as her mother is alive. She made the effort and you let her down. she would see it as being disloyal to her mother to let you back into her life at this point. I think he should stop trying, for his own dignity. Problem is that he may have too much sentiment and not enough "level-headedness".As to her, this seems to be a situation which reminds one of the saying "charity begins at home." She seems to be so much full of love and compassion for the world, it perhaps is a little strange that she can’t find enough a compassion for her own dad to let him see the grandchildren. Of course, report says she says she’s ignornig him for her mother’s sake. But that seems like taking sides. Besides, how vulnerable the mother could still be at this point of her divorced life. And people do divorce for whatever reasons and they get over pretty quick, it seems to me.
Actually, I feel bad for Jon Voight–he’s getting old and probably losing some of his marbles. Zahara is not exactly an easy name to remember and old people get confused, particularly since he was never ALLOWED TO SEE HER! He’s still trying to reach out though so I give him some credit for that.

JV has done charity work for children his entire life! Children of all races! Angie most probably has followed his example that he set for her. He has devoted his life to it, and hasn’t made a big deal about it like his daughter has however. You should be ashamed telling lies about someone when you know NOTHING about his life!! He is a very decent person and Angie most probably has some emotional resentment towards him and she needs help with those issues if she is to ever be a decent parent herself. JV continues to extend his hand to her and she slaps it away. At least he trys over and over. She is unforgiving.
