OlderJon Voight Loves Shakira
Angelina Jolie’s estranged father Jon Voight sent a shout out to his grandkids Saturday, but it seems like absence makes the memory grow weaker — he royally screwed up one of the names. At the fourth annual BAFTA Tea Party (BAFTA is the Oscars for Brits), Voight was talking with a reporter on the red carpet when he decided to send birthday wishes to Maddox, Angelina’s five-year-old child. That went well, but then things took an ugly turn. Voight also sent well-wishes to "Shakira" — problem is, he was talking about Angelina’s 1 1/2-year-old daughter. Shakira is considerably older — 29. The correct name — Zahara. Close, but no cigar.
HAHAHAHA. What a terrible grandfather!! How could Jon Voight mistake SHAKIRA for ZAHARA? HAHAHAHA. Not a good way to fall under the good grace’s of your daughter… Do yourself a favor and watch the hilarious clip!

I feel truly sorry for this aging man and the situation he is in. His daughter won’t even cross paths with him at an art photo show or give him a glimpse at his grandchildren. It has led posters here and at other sites to speculate that there is more going on than merely a few ill chosen, but fairly accurate, words about his daughter in public. Tarring him with the image of incest in the mind of the public is a cruel and irresponsible thing to do if it is not true. Angelina should stop being a child and publicly reconcile with her father. This does not mean that they have to be real close again privately.

The fact that Voight can’t shut up aboug Angelina Jolie and continues to pretend there is some ongoing connection and potential future interaction just reminds her why she cut him off. I know - in the same situation with a relative I cut off. They can’t stand it, won’t shut up about it - it’s been years. I hardly think of them, but if they run into anyone who knows us both - all she talks about is ME. Good luck to Jon Voight. I doubt he is ever invited to be a part of the Jolie-Pitt family.

Some people here post some really pathetic ****!!! Give this man a break, My grandmother who is the same age as him calls me 10diffrent names before she actually gets it right. And I see her almost every day, much less this man who has never met these kids. He’s just old, we’ll all get there some day too. As far as angie and him, I’m sure he’s not perfect and neither is she. I was taught to forgive but I guess Angie is kind but doesn’t believe in God. I wonder what her actions teaches her kids, lets just hope angie and brad walk a perfect line since her kids are being taught to ban those they think are not good to them including Parents. And if they split, well Brad kiss your kids Good-bye!!

I don’t think the lives of the Jolie-Pitt family will lose anything much without Jon Voight. I remember that well-known psychologist with the TV program-he’s dead now-telling one of his callers "If your parent is the source of your pain, why don’t you get yourself away from it?".Many people live with "should" and "must" ruling their lives, and consider child-parent estrangement something to be avoided at all costs. The cold hard truth is though that many parents and many children are just people too-and very hurtful. In these cases the healthy thing to do is get away from the source of hurt.Many people prefer to live with a problem and complain about it . Other people prefer to eliminate the problem-it seems to me that’s the sane thing to do.

Grandparents do have legal rights now. He could take her to court for refusing to let her see those kids. It’s been done before and the Grandparents have won visitation rights! Although it may not be right in certain cases, I think he could win this. He’s been banned because he said she needed mental help. She does! Anyone who cuts on themselves to feel needs major help from professionals, which she NeVEr got! Wow what an ego that witch has!

She has been a wonderful, supportive daughter to her mother, a wonder sister to her brother and a loving nuturing mother to her children. In the next 15 years, her children will be grateful that they have such a wonderful, loving mother who is involved in their lives. When Maddox and Zahara see what fate could have befallen them if Angie had not adopted them, they will be thankful that she had a heart big enough to go outside her comfort zone to adopt them and open up her heart and home.No matter how hard you try, you can never diminsh or belittle Angelina as a mother. Her children will love her for the exceptional mother and human being that she is.
