Angelina Jolie’s estranged father Jon Voight sent a shout out to his grandkids Saturday, but it seems like absence makes the memory grow weaker — he royally screwed up one of the names. At the fourth annual BAFTA Tea Party (BAFTA is the Oscars for Brits), Voight was talking with a reporter on the red carpet when he decided to send birthday wishes to Maddox, Angelina’s five-year-old child. That went well, but then things took an ugly turn. Voight also sent well-wishes to "Shakira" — problem is, he was talking about Angelina’s 1 1/2-year-old daughter. Shakira is considerably older — 29. The correct name — Zahara. Close, but no cigar.
HAHAHAHA. What a terrible grandfather!! How could Jon Voight mistake SHAKIRA for ZAHARA? HAHAHAHA. Not a good way to fall under the good grace’s of your daughter… Do yourself a favor and watch the hilarious clip!

I fully support Angie for keeping this man out of her life, and her children’s life. Being an actor himself, he is fully aware of the ramifications of living your life in the public eye, the good and the bad of it. However, he has shown time and again, especially in the last year, when Angie became half of the ultimate power couple, that he is cunningly manipulating the press to view him as this ‘loving father/grandfather’ who only wants to be part of his daughter’s life. Let’s not forget that before AJ hooked up with BP, we never heard from him re having a relationship with his daughter and Maddox. From past interviews with AJ, she has expressed her reasons for this estrangement, and we don’t know how difficult this decision must have been for her to make, and to live with. So while some of you here are busy posting your hate filled rants about her ‘not forgiving her father’ and that ‘the same thing will happen to her with her children,’ you are either just using this incident as another way to bash her, or simply letting yourself be taken in by this actor, who is giving an academy award performance every time he starts talking about getting back into a relationship with Angie and the children.

She is kind and generous, she is one of a kind. The world waits breathlessly as to what to expect next from this caring woman. God bless Angelina Jolie.
