OlderBrad & Angelina: NEW ORLEANS
Brad Pitt announced the winners (New York city architects Andrew Kotchen and Matthew Berman, of the firm Workshop/APD) of his architectural design competition at a news conference in New Orleans earlier on today. Brad worked with Global Green USA in hopes of creating the environmentally friendly housing in a redevelopment project in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, a neighborhood hard hit by Hurricane Katrina.
Brad shared this at the news conference: "I am appalled and embarrassed that residents still do not have the opportunity … to decide if they want to get back into their neighborhoods and recreate their communities… [But] I’m very, very excited about the result. There are a lot of great ideas that came across the table."
Brad was accompanied by his family — Angelina Jolie, Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh (not pictured). More pictures in the gallery!

I can’t include the links as I’ve been told by Jared that I can’t post if I more then 1 link. .From Ode magazine:Despite his jet-set lifestyle, actor Brad Pitt may be greener than you. How? He compensates for his contributions to global warming by planting trees. The Czech-based publication Car Busters (April-June 2005) reports on Pitt’s involvement with Future Forests, a British initiative enabling people to help reduce their role in the greenhouse effect. On their website (www.futureforests.com) you can calculate exactly how many trees you must plant to compensate for your CO2 emissions. For Brad Pitt this meant subsidizing the planting of 1,700 trees in Bhutan. One tree costs around 15 euros ($19 U.S.) and makes ideal gifts for your socially-conscious friends.From energybulletin:Hollywood stars such as Brad Pitt, Darryl Hannah, Salma Hayek and Sir Ian McKellen have all installed solar panels or wind turbines at their homes. Niether one of them should wear their hair like this. Angelina doesn’t look quite so hot without the shiseido photoshopping and airbrushing.That Zahara is one cute accessory though. She prolly won’t learn to walk until she’s almost 5 either.
