Babel to Premiere at the London Film Festival

The lineup for the 50th London Film Festival was announced today, and it includes the UK premiere of Babel:
This year’s festival begins on Wednesday, 18 October with the European premiere of Kevin Macdonald’s The Last King of Scotland, starring Forest Whitaker and Gillian Anderson. The festival concludes on Thursday, 2 November with the UK premiere of Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Babel, starring Cate Blanchett, Brad Pitt and Mexican heart-throb Gael Garcia Bernal.

I’m POSITIVE, Brad will be there since he missed Cate and Gael at TIFF!! Wheeeee….yet another opp for Brad & Angie to walk the red carpet, but as I said before, I don’t think it will happen because this film is not the showcase for that kind of ‘brangelina’ circus…Oceans 13 will be, the Oscars, Globes, and Sags will be — but Babel premiering is an opp for the lesser known actors as well as the Brad, Cate and Gael to showcase….I do however think she’ll be at the after parties so there’s hopes for pics of a gorgeous Ange on Brad’s arm yet. :-)
If there are any Hunagarian BAMZS fans, I’d like to congratulate you all for choosing to name one of your bridges after Stephen Colbert. :) The Colbert Nation is so jealous of Hungarians right now.

I want to see some more tender lovin’ between Brad & Angie (in the right role) a year or two from now, for sure! Not necessarily anything explicit, just tender and sweet. They’ll never do anything like MAMS again, and I don’t want them to make anything close to MAMS II. That has the potential to e real raunchy. I think people would have a hard time accepting him in a sexy scene with someone other than Angie right now….people are so intriqued with them together. I think they will stick to dramatic roles with relationships, not sex, as the focus.

I tend to think that Brad is the type of man and actor, who when he is in love has no desire to ‘pretend’ the emotion gratutously with no story behind it…i.e., you won’t see him boinking strippers in Ocean’s 13….you might see him weeping over Cate Blanchett’s wounded body….see the diff? But I doubt he’ll be humping on camera anytime soon - I just think he’s the type of guy when FULLY committed does not go there…that is yet another reason you know something was amiss when he was with Maniston — the scenes in Troy were damned hot with Rose Byrne, and we all know MAMS was…Brad’s the kind of man, when I saw this - I was fairly certain he and Maniston were toast, as he had not permitted that before in his film roles…just check imdb.

Amaya - I watched the TDS and first five minutes of the The Colbert Show. I love both shows but felt to lazy to watch TCS tonight.
About seeing pictures Brad and Angie in India…the Indian media doesn’t really have papz that stalk celebrities everyday of their lives …like getting a pic of them buying groceries or getting some coffee. But at any social events or public outting, there are hordes of photographers around to take pictures of celebs.
There’s been a rumor about a two Indian celebrities dating each other for a year and since India doesn’t really have papz, there hasn’t been one picture of them out together privately to confirm the rumor. So bad news for us who follow that sort of thing and good thing for the celebs.
But one thing BAMZS will have to watch out for is that the crowd there is very hard to control, especially when they see some famous person shooting a movie, it can get very chaotic. I can’t wait to see how it’s going to be when they go there.
I know Will Smith went there and they freaking treated him like a GOD….Indian media tends to do that…elevate celebrities to God-Like status…arrgh I hate that sometimes.
Anyways so yeah…Will Smith was treated really well…I’m sure Brad and Angie will have fun experience. :)

FANS CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF BRAD PITT

Whenever a massive group of Hollywood stars converge on a city (in this case the Toronto International Film Festival), the energizing ripple effect it causes is rather surprising.
Walking out of a press conference for the critically acclaimed film Babel, starring Brad Pitt, the fact that, just moments ago, the screen star sat just steps away talking animatedly about fatherhood and his latest film barely sinks in.
There are photos to worry about, quotes to collect and deadlines looming like angry storm clouds.
Still sleepy and desperately gripping a ridiculously huge cup of coffee, I stumble out of the Sutton Place Hotel. Conference over. Time to hail a cab. Return some calls. Remember to breathe. Write. Write. And write.
But before the caffeine’s flooded the bloodstream, I am jolted awake by the legion of fans buzzing about outside, circling the hotel like bees to sweet treats. They want autographs, snapshots and bragging rights. They want Brad. Fans always seem to know exactly where to find the stars. They follow their scents from restaurant to coffee shop, from movie premiere to afterparty, from after party to hotel, and so on. And Brad is a big draw. Possibly the biggest.
Sure sightings of Vince Vaughn, Jude Law and Penelope Cruz (among the cacophony of famous faces in town), are nice; Brad they can’t get enough of.
He’s an enigma, really. A survivor. Unlike Tom Cruise, Brad saunters out of every tabloid scandal unscathed. He avoided alienating himself after divorcing Jen Aniston in 2005 and rebounded remarkably fast when he and his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star, Angelina Jolie, went public with their relationship.
Women — even those who’d lost faith in the mega-star following the Jen/Brad split — jumped back on the bandwagon.
The guys, well they never jumped off in the first place. They just imagined themselves in Brad’s position (could they have resisted Angelina, they wondered) and immediately felt sympathy for the star.
So what’s his secret? Well, in a nutshell, he’s likable. And he smiles. A lot.
The guy can’t take a bad picture, which is kind of weird, but that devilish boy-next-door grin never makes a wrong move.
“What’s he like?” someone eagerly asks me later that day, and I realize I have no idea.
