Brangelina Love Banksy
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were spotted out and about late last night in Los Angeles. The couple turned up for an art show featuring pieces by world renowned, London-based graffiti artist Banksy. The exhibition, titled “Barely Legal,” is billed as a “three day vandalized warehouse extravaganza” with its main feature, a live elephant which has been painted in a floral wallpaper pattern. Keanu Reeves and Jude Law was also present at the art show.

gitane, I am bothered about the elephant, too. When I read it, I was hoping the elephant was ok and had enough room to move around. They did say it was in a warehouse, so it sounds roomy, but still, I agree that elephants weren’t put here to be painted for our entertainment. As an artist I have such mixed feelings about this kind of thing. I can only hope the animal was treated respectfully.

I am not a Bamzs or Vaugniston hater…I don’t obsess over anybody, I just like to look at the pics. The one where they are smiling at eachother shows that they are in love…But, I think her head is looking too big lately and her legs are way tooo veiny and skinny…don’t get me wrong she is beautiful no matter what, but I am someone looking on the outside in (meaning not an obsessed fan nor a hater). And I am doubtful she is wearing anything colorful under that shiney coat…I would love to see her in color myself. Something different than the norm. And in the pic where she is clinging to Brad? I am not too impressed by her look in these. I think she looks best when she’s not trying to look dressed up. She looks best in her jeans and t-shirt and barely any make-up. And I am also most positive she doesn’t have a stylist or make-up artist — unless it’s an important event like the oscars etc.

Dragonfly - I’m late to the party, but if you’re having problems playing the video and you’ve been able to play videos in the past, then you probably need to delete your TEMP FILES. I’ll assume you’re using Internet Explorer - TOOLS, OPTIONS, GENERAL TAB…right in the middle it says TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES. Click the DELETE button and when the dialog box opens click the little box that says DELETE OFFLINE FILES, then click OK. If you’ve got a lot of files it’ll take a minute or so to delete them.
You may also need to delete your Windows temp files as well. Go to C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\YOUR USERNAME\LOCAL SETTINGS\TEMP. If you don’t see the Local Settings folder, then it’s hidden and you’ll have to unhide it. Select TOOLS, FOLDER OPTIONS, VIEW TAB. Scroll down until you see a yellow folder labelled HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS, then select SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDER, then click OK until you’re back in the main folder. Now you should be able to see LOCAL SETTINGS and all it’s subfolders. You can only delete the temp files that aren’t currently in use by Windows, so you’ll want to turn on the file details and sort them by date, choose SELECT ALL from the VIEW menu, and then deselect the files with today’s date (hold down the CTRL key while you click on each file), then you can delete the rest of them.

Are you kidding me? I can’t believe you let that Crazy Chick bother you. Ritzygal reminds me of this Crazy woman that stood by the market place in Benin. The poor dear was so out of it, she actually believed she was a person of importance. She’d tell wild tales about how she had dinner with the ambassador of some country the night before….her stories were interesting but what made it funnier was her strong conviction that they were true. She’d get angry if her stories weren’t believed and start throwing insults…..good ones too. Suffice it to say, she always gave us one of those good belly aching laughs, which was what we all did until she was eventually carted off. So the moral of the story is….you can’t take whatever a crazy person (Ritzygal) says seriously. Just laugh at her wild tales and harder at her insults but always know this, she’d eventually be carted off. :)

i’m glad you brought up the elephant because it bothered me,
too. There is something heartbreaking about elephants. They are
tortured as babies so that they will obey as adults when they are
so big. They use an anka — sharp hook-like instrument — and
stab them behind the front leg, in the tender armpit, to make
them walk. Even in the wild, I get tears in my eyes watching a
Discovery Channel or Animal Planet piece on them, because they
have such reverence for life, treat each other with such respect,
adn mourn their dead, and to struggle for habitat and water is
sad. There is just something about elephants that is sad, the
gentle giants who can go mad with frustration and finally turn on
the handlers, adn then are shot.
Painting one…. I don’t know. Seems demeaning to me. I agree —
can’t stand the circus, and have a real problem with most zoos.
Angie is a caretaker of wildlife, though, so I’m sure she’s not
supportive of anything that will be painful for the elephant,

Having failed to glimpse Brad in person at the gala, I hobbled down to the Sutton Place Hotel for the Babel press conference early the next day. My ankles were elephantine after I took a tumble in the Paris Hilton sandals. So for the moment, I was back in Birkenstocks and the only dress I own that conceals my feet, my chartreuse ballgown.
Unfortunately, I arrived to discover an animated discussion between a mob of journalists and a team of volunteers. The volunteers had linked arms, and were guarding the door to the conference hall with grim determination.
“I came all the way from Brazil for this, can’t I please go in?” asked one young lady.
“My friend is inside, can I just pop in quickly and tell him something?” requested another.
“Couldn’t we just sit on the other journalists’ laps?” I suggested quite reasonably.
“No, no and NO! The room is at capacity.”
Along with fifty or so equally unfortunate journalists and photographers, not to mention some brazen female hotel guests who snuck past security, I watched the conference live on a large TV in the room next-door. The atmosphere was despondent, and it was hard to concentrate as the Brazilian lady journalist clutched her knees, rocked and sobbed loudly throughout the screening. There among an international cast and the luckiest interpreters alive, sat Brad Pitt. The sun kissed hair; the strong, angular jaw; the tanned, apple-shaped cheeks. Pressing my own cheek against the wall, my mood was recharged momentarily as Brad’s persona seeped through. With a sigh, I watched the screen and scribbled a few notes.
Director Alejandro González Iñárritu recounted travelling to Japan, a year prior to shooting Babel, in search of a deaf mute teenage girl to play the part of Chieko. The role finally went to Rinko Kikuchi, a non-actress with a quiet intensity. The buzz in the screening room was that she outshines the film’s big stars with her heartbreaking performance. I started that rumor myself, still upset at being on the wrong side of the wall.
The issue of parenting is central to the film, so the journalists in the screening room quickly veered the line of questioning towards Brad Pitt’s latest real life role as Daddy.
When the words “now that you are a father” were uttered, he grinned, and the photographers went wild.
The interviewer demanded that they stop, lest the cast of Babel end up blinded by all the flashing. Once the cameras were down, Brad impishly waved his arms in the air and pulled faces. A couple of deviant photographers stole some final shots. “These are the photos that they’ll show when I go crazy…when I get arrested for DUI and making racial slurs,” said Brad in jest.
Even Brad’s fabulous jokes were not enough to cheer me up properly when it was all over. Mr. Pitt was leaving town that evening without having had the chance to meet me in person and rethink the whole Angelina fiasco. As the journalists and photographers poured out of the hallowed conference hall, I gathered up my skirts and made my way in. I drew the cameraman at the front of the hall deep into conversation, allowing his eyes to follow the rising swell of my bosom. Taking advantage of his distracted gaze, I implemented one of the most important lessons I learned at Swiss Finishing School—petty theft.
Only there was nothing petty about the loot I had stashed down my undergarments as I made my way back to the guesthouse. The rest of the evening I spent before the television in my bedroom, playing back the videocassette of the Babel press conference. I muted the volume when questions were put to Brad, replacing them with my own. Brad and I stayed deep in conversation, all night long. A divine two-way indeed.

I do not think they intentionally showed PDA.
They were as usual – very tight inside of building but once outside of building they changed their body language - very strict facial expression not to show how tight they are to public. However, in this case, when they walked out of building, it was very very dark with lots of flash light so that AJ could not walk fast. If you watch the video, once she realized of the paparazzi, she walked behind of BP. However, it was so dark outside and they were walking so fast, she started to hold BP’ arm (she was holding BP’ left arm with her left hand. Then I think BP realized how hared for AJ to walk very fast, so he held her right hand and she was holding onto him with both hands – I think this is why BP said “alright now?” or something.
As for Holly, as you know holly became AJ’ assistance around 2001 and got married in 2004. Nobody knows who her husband is (I think she likes to keep it very personal and it is understandable). Someone said holly’ husband is also working for AJ/BP, but not sure. I think they (Holly and her husband) are living with AJ/BP. AJ/BP’ new house is a compound of three houses, and it was mentioned that assistance is living in one of the houses and I think it is Holly and her husband.

Matt Damon is on a mission. No, it’s not another installment of his hit Bourne Identity films (though the third one is due out next year.) This time, the actor is fighting poverty and AIDS in Africa.
Damon, who took up the cause after spending more than a week visiting Africa in May, hosted a fundraiser in Toronto last week to raise money to fight global poverty.
The event, attended by Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz, Wyclef Jean and John Legend, raised almost $1.8 million for Canada’s One X One and the U.S.-based Millennium Promise, headed by United Nations adviser Dr. Jeffrey Sachs.
Damon ran a celebrity auction for prizes that included a chance to escort him and Pitt to the premiere of Ocean’s Thirteen. Sold! But that’s not all Damon is doing. He talks to PEOPLE’s Mary Green about the documentary he’s working on, his hopes for the future and watching Wyclef sing with the African’s Children Choir.
PEOPLE: How did visiting Africa affect you?
Damon: It’s not some theory that someone’s trying to explain to you. You’re looking right at people who are living in extreme poverty, and it’s really unnecessary. But what overwhelmed me the most was a sense of hope that I got, because I really felt like a lot of these problems are fixable. There are some really basic things that can be done that will have an unbelievable impact. So it’s about educating people about that. Look, I’m learning too. I feel like I just started down this road – down what’s going to be a lifelong trek – but it’s most important that we all make it together.
Were you happy with your Toronto fundraiser?
I thought it was great. I mean, John Legend, I don’t think there’s anybody on the planet right now with a better voice. And how about Wyclef? When he got up (to sing with the African’s Children Choir) – was that unbelievable! Alexanderina-Hey!!! I have been quite pre-occupied-My youngest who is in the 2nd grade was bringing home grades that were not very good. He is more of a baby and hates reading because his brother(third grade) is Einstein jr. Anyway I had the husband install a full size classroom chalkboard and Ihave been giving him additional instruction. Kids all learn on different levels. He really wants to read, I just think he was choosing books that he wasn’t ready for. So I have limited time here because education is more important than eating to us.

I could tell that it’s silk. From the US pics, she has a black skirt or dress underneath because her coat opens & exposes the bottom of her outfit. The outfit is totally appropriate for an art exhibition. She could pass for a gallery owner. Wearing black at exhibitions keeps you from drawing attention from & competing with the art, although in this case sorry…whose exhibition? LOL!!!! I just now had a chance to watch the video with sound myself - I can play videos at work, but I didn’t want people questioning why I was replaying…and replaying…and replaying…and replaying…and replaying…and…you get the drift…the part where he’s talking to Angie. Basically I replayed it enough to decipher, “It’s alright, baby.”
I know there was some discussion earlier in the day as to whether it was “It’s alright, baby” or “Are you alright, baby” or “Are you alright, honey” or “It’s alright, honey”….basically, they covered every variation. I’m going with “It’s alright, baby”.
Some people over on that lame-ass US Weekly blog were wondering what’s wrong with Angelina that’s she’s suddenly clinging to Brad’s arm in public like she’s a weakling, but I really don’t think they realized how close those razzi were to them and how bright the lights going off in her face where. Because…although they were certainly photographing both of them, most of the razzi seemed to be concentrating on her. If you notice when they get to the car and Brad heads for the drivers door the person who was filming and a good portion of the razzi FOLLOWED ANGIE to the other side of the car and continued taking photos of her. I think Brad was just telling her that they were almost to their vehicle and were getting away from the razzi.
When you see something like this it’s makes you realize why they haven’t made more public appearances in the last 3 months since they got back from Africa. The few times they have they’ve been mobbed outside the building. They probably thought they’d gradually be able to go back to how things were before they got together - followed by the razzi, but not overrun by them - and unfortunately that’s not turning out to be the case. It’s pretty freaking sad, actually. And yet…I sat here and grinned at the photos today…

Feeling Banksy

First of all, it’s a real living breathing elephant that Banksy has at his warehouse show in downtown Los Angeles; not a sculpture or taxidermy, but 15,000 pounds of actual pachyderm. Her name is Thai because she is and she once belonged to Michael Jackson. (Watch the video). She is the literal “elephant in the room” meant to draw attention to the metaphorical elephant Banksy tries to make us aware of with the note passed to us as we entered:

– Every day hundreds of people are made to feel physically sick by morons at art shows telling them how bad the world is but never actually doing something about it.

But the fact is, if you’ve ever actually seen an elephant in a room not meant for elephants, you know how hard it is to ignore and how often you’re drawn back to it. And this one was painted to match the wallpaper, for crying out loud.

After we grudgingly pulled ourselves away from Thai in her roped-off living room environment, our attention shifted immediately to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who were engaged in casual intercourse with another couple just over there. As they moved about the cavernous warehouse space with its Banksy wink-wink art pieces flung about as if in an Area installation from the ’80s, so did we, not exactly coincidentally. (We figure the famous and famously civic-minded couple was there in support of the first two points on Banksy’s note.) We were with WOW’s Steven Corfe, his boyfriend James McGowan, Thairin Smothers, and James St James. James was wearing a gold, quilted and belted trench and just a touch of gold on his lids. We nonchalantly looked at the giant graffiti-style paintings of poor Africans cohabiting the same space as incongruous objects, just as the couple known as Brangelina was doing the same. Of course, we never looked directly at Brangelina, even when they were kissing, which was often, though others at the exhibition had no trouble engaging the pair in lengthy conversations and having their pictures taken with them. Distancing ourselves after a while, we observed that Angelina, in a chic black dress and black spike heels, and Brad, in fashionably worn jeans, white shirt open several buttons down, and a brown sportscoat, looked not unlike a suburban couple or, frankly, like Brad and Angelina characters who might stand outside Mann’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, offering to pose with tourists.
But it was still a surprise when St. James approached us in the darkened room where a widescreen video was projected showing Banksy (or a representation of Banksy) perpetrating guerrilla acts of art on London and other locations. “Look,” said James, his digital camera screen lighting our faces. “How cool is this?” Staring up at us in the dark was a glowing photo of James flanked by the couple we’d just come from stalking. “And look.” There was another one. We tried to get the story out of him. It was a bit garbled but it seems he approached them and Seth Green came up and so did Party Monster and, mysterously, Brad and Angie had a good laugh at the mention of Macaulay Culkin, go figure, and at the end someone may have said, “Call me,” with thumb and pinkie to ear.
The rest of the night was about James and Brad and Angelina, now called Brameselina, in our minds. We never tired of gawking at the couple, even after Keanu showed up. Keanu, unlike Brangelina, who chatted and posed with everyone, refused to have his picture taken. “I’m too ugly,” he told James, then initiated a discussion of Falstaff (yes, that Falstaff) with him and Thairin. We also saw Duran Duran’s John Taylor looking much too young to be John Taylor. And Ann Magnuson. After James had seen all the works of Banksy, he set about doing what he was put on earth to do: photograph cute people, mainly boys, the results of which we now post here. Since the presence of Banksy at the Banksy show last night was never established, and he may even be a cooperative, as some think, any number of people there could have been him, or her, including – who knows? – someone in this gallery of James’s.

394 | Missouri Fan - Sweet wine… is that the same as ice wine? I love ice wine especially late in the evenings when the world is asleep. Actually, I have a wonderful view of the City as I am in the heart of downtown Toronto amidst the tall buildings creating that white noise. Very soothing late in the evenings.
Yes indeed, I did see that vile comment. She is a pitiful soul. We have to ignore her and I am glad you had a good laugh. Laughing is really healthy and that’s the best way to go. Ah well, it takes all kinds.
