Brad & Angelina: More Banksy Love

I just read about Elena and what happened. My heart felt condolences to her and her daughter. I can’t even begin to imagine what that must be like. It’s just horrible. Indie, please let her know we are all praying for her during this time. I’ll be keeping Elena’s family and her in my thoughts and prayers.

Jared- thanks for pics! As always, you never dissapoint! For 20 minutes I was just oogling at the pictures before I got caught up with all the comments and now I’ve finally got the time to post. Aaah..what a beautiful couple..inside and out. :)

I am so late but I feel for Elena. Indie thanks for letting us know and please tell her that we are praying for her.

Just wanted to say a quick hi to everyone!!!!!.

Earlier today when I peeked here, I was so saddened to see
Elena’s news, and also got completely disgusted by some who
maliciously attacked Guli. I tried to ‘report abuse’ on that
insensitive and beow-human piece of garbage but the button
didnt’ work. A sad place here at JJ today…I couldn’t bring myself
to post anything until now.

Indie, please if you get a chance, let Elena know that I was shell-
shocked beyond words about her sad news all day. It was my
son’s first day of school, and I just couldn’t help but to think what
an awful awful thing to go through to lose your not only one but
two children all at once. It is just unimaginable. I feel so
helpless and don’t even know how to console her, but one thing is
for sure. Aside from Elena who can be sure that her boys have
given her the time of her life, I am so sure that her boys, even in
their short lived lives, were so fortunate to have such a wonderful
mother. Elena filled her sons lives with her love and brightened
their lives. Having a little son myself, I know this—Elena was
everything to the boys’ lives. My heart goes out to her and her
family. What else can I say, I am so depressed today learning
this terrible, terrible news, and although we all know each other as
fellow BAMZS fans, I am very grateful for Jolie-Pitt that they are
the ones to put us in touch together, not to mention this
wonderful blog site of Jared.

Goodnight everyone, I just kissed my kids and put them to bed.
We just have to go on with our lives and yes, live our every day as
it’s our last.

Exclusive: Scorsese’s ‘Departed’ Rocks

Jack Nicholson in a Martin Scorsese film? With Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Alec Baldwin and Mark Wahlberg in the cast as well? Are you kidding?

No, I am not.

“The Departed,” which I saw on Friday night, is a rocking comedy-of-a-gangster-shoot-out stuffed with great performances both big and small by all these guys, and Scorsese — who returns to his favorite genre — is the puppeteer pulling the strings.

Actually, he’s not pulling all the strings. Nicholson is completely “out there” and over the edge in a performance that will either win him kudos or tomatoes (I vote for the former) as a psychopathic killer who has no personal boundaries and works, shall we say, outside the margins of even recognized behavior for organized crime.

In one scene, Nicholson pulls out a sex toy and surprises Damon in a movie theater. In another, he wears sunglasses all the way through despite, I’m told, Scorsese’s wishes that he didn’t.

But you can see that Nicholson took to his work with relish, and — as he did with The Joker in “Batman” — he makes sure no one forgets him.

Still, “The Departed” is Scorsese’s film. From the first strains of The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter,” he’s telling us we are back in the land of “Goodfellas” after his last two films, best picture nominees “Gangs of New York” and “The Aviator.”

And while “Gangs” had its share of crazy, unpredictable, graphic violence, really nothing prepares you for the bloodletting in “The Departed.” It’s at once maniacal and casual, and would make Tony Soprano and his gang run for the hills.

“The Departed” constitutes a couple of ideas mashed together. It’s partly an American remake of the Hong Kong classic “Infernal Affairs.” Then again, the story has been moved to Boston and turned into the saga of Whitey Bulger, an FBI informant whose gang runs wild while the feds clean up the mafia.

Nicholson is the Bulger character (he’s named here for New York mobster Frank Costello). Damon is the bad cop who’s in Costello’s pocket; DiCaprio is the police mole in Costello’s gang, sent in by Martin Sheen and an unusually good Wahlberg.

In many ways, the story set up in “The Departed” is reminiscent of Michael Mann’s “Heat” as DiCaprio and Damon spend most of the movie as each other’s dopp

It’s the kind of movie they might want to create a BUZZ ABOUT so I could almost see them going to the premiere or any after parties or soirees surrounding the film! :-D Yippeeeeee!!! Elena…you have my belated condelences regarding your children. Stay strong for your daughter and for yourself…you are strong, stronger than you could even imagine. Trust and believe that everthing will be fine in the end. I read that you are a humanitarian and you taught your children to be/do the same…know that you did a good/great job while they were in the flesh and that their spirit will live on with those they touched because of your influences. Know that they live on in others so therefore you haven’t lost your adorable, loving two but you have gained so much more, so many more because of your love and encouragement towards those two.

Again, stay strong…you can do it!!!

Unlike Lainey, I dont believe BA play to the media just to ONE-UP
the X. I do think that BA are capable of moving on very
emphatically when they need. That’s an asset.

Having said that, I do think that X did figure in BA Media
consideration. This is NOT a criticism, but a comment on a fact of
B & A’s existence and one which they should wisely, take into
account. Like I’ve said in the past, all movie stars manipulate
their public image. I admire those who do it well and imo Brad
(more so then Angie in the past) plays it well. I think BA wisely,
kept a low profile in the first year and kept the opportunities for X
to milk the break up to a minimum. Had BA retaliated in any way,
it would simply have given fodder to X. Had they shown any PDA,
then X and the tablies could say, look how insensitive BA are to
poor X, kissing and whatevering. No such opportunities were
handed to X. To do that, BA had to behave in a manner which
was unnatural in public, poker face, no smiling etc. In this way,
yes, I believe X was a factor (but only one factor) in how BA
presented themselves to the public.

From what B has said in previous interviews, I guess B wanted to
keep his relationship with A to himself for a while. Did you hear
him say at TIFF that it was around 1992-3 that he realised the
public was getting out of hand when he found tablies reporters
going through his trash??

The X factor wasn’t going to stop BA from doing what they
wanted - adopt a child, have a child, travel together etc.. Neither
the public nor X dictate their lives. The media (including X) and
public have a place in their lives and they are balancing it with
doing what they really care about. Smart People.

X can’t milk the break up any longer. Sane people do think 18
months is enough time to start moving on even if B MIGHT have
cheated .

I do believe what we are seeing in these photos is more the real
thing, the relaxed intimacy of a look and a smile. Makes me
wonder if they know she’s only got lingerie underneath that coat.
No wonder the photos are captivating.

I don’t think she let it get away. I think the truth is more likely
that she ever had it. 2 reasons for this:

She is not interested in producing movies, unless she can act in
them. She said so herself - Plan B grew too big for her.

2. She was not the driving force behind The Departed, Brad was.
And if she was not the driving force, not involved, then I’m not
sure if Scorcese and others would have wanted her to have it.
When Plan B was being divied up, The departed was still in
production, may be filming. If you were Scorcese, would you want
someone who hadn’t been involved in the production to suddenly
be the producer. I don’t know if Scorcese could have prevented it
had X really wanted it but my guess is, had Scorcese had a say,
he wouldn’t have picked X.
