Being under this kind of constant scrutiny has got to be exhausting. I don’t know about anybody else, but when I’m in my car I usually have the radio on or a cd going and I’m singing along. She can’t even do that. If she did, then the tab headlines would say, “Crazy Angelina Seen Talking To Herself!”

It’s damned ridiculous. How many photos of other celebs do we see of them just driving down the street? The only 2 instances I can think of were Britney Spears and the only reason they photographed that was because she put her baby in danger! Angie can’t even pick her nose if she wants to!

Who cares who gets what publicity if in the end hospitals are getting built, food and other essentials are delivered in problem areas, etc. Just look at Namibia - the tourist industry there is booming after her giving birth there. She must have created a few hundreds jobs for the locals. In fact has she not been a celebrity her charitable work would not have produced the same results - so attention goes hand with hand with good results from this kind of work unfortunately.
I am sure the people who have benefited so far from Angeina’s celebrity status all over the world, would find your comments completely irrelevant and unfair..

I think Olim’s statement on behalf of Nicole is well phrased. There are many people that do humanitarian work and receive nor recognition at all. They give of their time and work without recompense of any sort in dangerous and difficult situations. It must be remembered that Angelina gets recognition and publicity for her charitable work and this generates public goodwill which in turn generates additional revenues at the box office. There are real saints out there and despite what fans may think, Angelina is not among them.

I personally have not made AJ a saint. Trying to look at things in the most sensible way. Why do singers/golfers/tennis players/movies stars make millions of dollars? Coz they are more useful to society than firefighters and nurses? Of course appearance is one of the factors that determines somebody’s influence on today’s society. Again - doesn’t change the fact that AJ gets the work done - the people who’ve benefited from her work wouldn’t care less what made her famous and enabled her to do charitable work. That’s all that matters!

the facts are simple. angelina jolie is a great humanitarian. she gives of her time, energy and money. there are pictures of her here. we look at the pictures. we post and speculate about her work, her life, her character. so if you come to a place where her pictures are up, you can expect that people are going to talk about HER. there are occasions where we mention bill gates, matt damon, bono, nicole kidman and any other celebrity that supports a worthy cause, but this ain’t their thread.

Angelina Jolie who will be playing the role of Mariane, will be in India on October 1, along with boyfriend Brad Pitt and their three kids. The hottest Hollywood couple along with their kids will be in Pune for a month or so, for the shoot.

The film also stars Irfan Khan and Aly Khan who play important characters in the film.

Very familiar situation I go through everyday on my way to work. I live in a NASCAR town, Fla. Younger drivers think they are Jeff Gordon ,Kyle Busch etc. Adding to the mix are senior citizens
who drives in the fast lane at 30 mph. All they need is a pint of milk from the grocery . Why can’t they wait till the rush hour is over? Accidents also happen in the parking lot where a 80 yr. old

In answer to yeahright, Angelina does pay for her own expenses including flight, hotel, security etc. when she goes to these countries. I remembered reading somewhere that a rep for UN said that they didn’t have to pay anything for her. She pays for herself and then make a donation too. I would consider that a charity donation too. As well, her time and energy. X would just sit around or go to Cox’s house and do the same. X never did anything good for anyone except herself.

She talks about living in the same quarters that the other volunteers live in. Steaming hot countries, no A/C, community bathrooms etc. I believe she even did some tent living in some of the countries she visited. She did this without an entourage, without fanfare and because of a commitment she has made. If you look at the other UNHCR ambassadors thru the ages, very few of them have done much at all with their roles except to be figureheads who fund raise. Past UNHCR ambassadors have been Richard Burton, Sophia Loren and Princess Marthe Louise of Norway among others. Do you think they went out in the field and lived in tents and shacks? I don’t think so. Angelina has taken on this commitment and she is serving with a passion most of the other ambassadors did not bring to the job. I’m not saying the others didn’t do anything, I’m saying they lacked AJ’s fervor.

the problem with your logic is that she didn’t always earn $16mil per film. as a matter of fact, MAMS & the Tomb Raider films are her highest paydays. but thanks so much for researching the extent of her charitable giving which totals in the millions. that’s pretty damn impressive! and as for angie living in the lap of luxury. yes, she does. she’s no stranger to the finer things, but she’s also no stranger to roughing. when she’s in the field working with the u.n. her accomodations are the same as the other volunteers–plus she pays her own way. a couple of years ago, her home in cambodia didn’t have indoor plumbing, but she lived there with maddox to keep him exposed to his culture and so that she could contribute to the community.

I like how people go and research Angelina’s “charity” works (as you put it), with the intentions of belittling them. What do you care? Have given a dime to charity. Spend your time helping and not hindering. No matter what you say about her, she has given her time and money. Have you?

Instead of trying to block the help she’s given (no matter how large or small you believe it to be) why not offer your own help and solution. do you even help at your local ‘Boys and Girls’ Club? LONDON– Victoria and David Beckham have been named Britain’s “yummiest mummy” and “dishiest dad” in a survey for baby food company Avent.

The Daily Mirror reported the 32-year-old mother of three and her 31-year-old soccer star husband were voted the sexiest celebrity parents in the 2,000-person survey for their ability to be “nurturing, hands-on, often seen out with the kids — and still sexy.”

I adore Forest Whitaker and no he wasn’t nominated for an oscar or any other major award, as far as I know, for the Crying Game. All the attention went to Stephen Rhea and Jaye Davidson who both gave stand out performances imo.

Its not like political campaigining, but its more like the number of public appearances that he goes to, the number of “luncheons” and other such events. Even just seeing Brad “out and about” might be considered campaigning. Campaigning also entails the big splashy “for your consideration” ads in the trades (Variety and The Hollywood Reporter) that I’m sure Paramount will put out for Babel and for Brad in the film. Its a necessary evil in Hollywood, unfortunately.

Brad sees more of his kids than many executives, cops and firefighters do. Should those folks in public service quit so they can be home? According to reports, the nights he isn’t home he calls and he also does iPod reports for them. I dont’ think he left Jen because he wanted kids NOW. I think after seven years of her saying “not right now dear” - he felt it wasn’t ever going to happen! He is happy. Angie is happy. The kids are happy. And Jen says she is happy. THE New Year may have barely begun but Friends actress Jennifer Aniston has no doubt that 2004 will launch a fantastic new chapter in her life.

This month marks the final episode of the comedy series which made her name but as she waves goodbye to the show, she is preparing for her next role - motherhood.

And she is thrilled by the prospect. Hardly able to contain her delight at the thought of having her first child with her husband and Hollywood’s sexiest actor, Brad Pitt, she says: “We’re ready to dive in!”.

A smile lights up her face and, for the first time since the couple wed three years ago, she seems comfortable talking about starting a family.

“I have had enough time to wait for motherhood. That’s next,” she says.

“It was all about letting Friends finish. I really wanted that part of my life to come to a close and then have something to do.”

Jennifer and Brad are in such demand that they spend weeks apart, often filming in opposite corners of the globe.

And her fear of flying makes it even harder for them to spend time together on set.

So Jennifer, 34, is determined that she will remain a stay-at-home mum for the first year of their baby’s life.

“I love an excuse to stay at home,” she admits. “I am going to try not to work that much.

“I have so many girlfriends who can do it all but I know I’ll want to be around for a lot of it.”

She admits that Fight Club pin-up Brad has been nagging her to make him a dad but, until now, her career had always come first.

Last year, work commitments meant Jennifer was in Los Angeles while Brad filmed the £100million epic Troy in Malta and Mexico. In fact, since Hollywood’s golden couple were married in Malibu in July, 2000, they have struggled to even find the time to renovate their £10million 30s mansion.

While workmen spent the past 18 months putting the final touches to the elegant property, which has a luxury gym and a wine cellar, the couple have been living in Jennifer’s more modest bachelorette apartment.

But now, their house - with ample space for a nursery - is ready and the only thing that could stand in the way of them starting a family is mother nature.

“The house is done and we have to get furniture but we’re in,” says Jennifer. “We have a house that is truly a combination of both of us and it’s beautiful. Next to making a kid, the house will be the second-best thing we ever did.”

Jennifer says that while Brad, 40, is the most lusted-after actor in Hollywood, she isn’t worried about the adulation he gets.

He was recently voted the Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine but she trusts him implicitly and says that she doesn’t get jealous when he strips off for sizzling sex scenes.

“Brad’s unbelievably loyal,” she says. “We have trust and when you have that, thankfully, it’s a wonderful feeling not to ever have to deal with jealousy.

“I’m not that kind, really. When I was younger that sort of thing did bother me but I don’t feel like that these days.

“I know it’s a natural feeling every now and then but I don’t feel that with Brad.”

And how does Brad feel when the boot is on the other foot and he sees his wife in romantic clinches with her leading men?

“He loves it - he laughs,” she says with her trademark throaty giggle.

Then she pauses and adds: “Well, I mean he doesn’t love it. But I don’t think anyone loves watching their partner make out with someone else. It’s just weird. I have certain friends who won’t even watch.”

Jennifer, whose Rachel haircut was the most copied style of 1996, says she owes her success to Friends, the series which topped the ratings for a decade before running out of steam.

She first appeared on TV screens as Rachel Green in 1994. She was the Friend all the girls wanted to emulate and all the men wanted to take home.

Along the way, she has also won critical acclaim in films such as Good Girl and Bruce Almighty. But Friends is the show which runs through her veins.

As the sitcom took off, the million dollar per episode cheques put her among Hollywood’s big earners, while the exposure brought her to the attention of Brad, who asked his agent to set up a date.

Now the realisation that the show that made her a star has come to an end makes her tearful.

When she was recently interviewed by Oprah Winfrey on the subject, the actress admits it all became too much and she broke down.

“It’s hard,” she says. “It’s just 10 years of this incredible group of people and it’s weird that it’s ending because it doesn’t seem like it really needs to…”

Today, she is a little flustered, arriving 15 minutes late for our interview though still looking immaculate.

WEARING a chic, black open-neck shirt, trousers and boots she could have walked straight off a film set.

In fact, her stylish appearance is a world away from her latest role in Along Came Polly - released in the US next Friday - which calls for her to look “messy”.

“Looking good is always a nice thing but with this movie, one of the things I remember thinking when I saw it, was ‘God, I don’t look very good.’ But I was supposed to look a little dirty, a little off a bit, like Polly maybe stinks a little bit. That musky sort of smell.”

In the film, Jennifer’s character is a free spirit who hooks up with a conservative control freak, played by Ben Stiller, and educates him in the art of having fun.

The film includes scenes where Polly introduces him to spicy food - regardless of his chronic indigestion - and teaches him to salsa dance and bungee jump.

But she confesses that she had to take salsa lessons herself to prepare for the part and reveals that Brad is actually the snakehips in the family.

Her eyes light up as she says: “Brad’s a great dancer. He was always one left turn away from a Backstreet Boy, I tell you.

“I can just see pictures of him with the bandanas, doing a little bit of a dance.”

Entertaining is something that now comes easily to Jennifer, too. It was her way to cope with an unsettled childhood.

She was born in Sherman Oaks, California, in February 1969, the daughter of actors John and Nancy Aniston.

The family spent time in Greece and later moved to New York when John landed a role in a daytime drama.

BUT when Jennifer was nine, John dumped Nancy for another woman. That had a profound effect on the youngster, who hid her heartbreak by acting the clown.

“It was a survival technique for me,” she recalls. “I had parents bickering but if you can make somebody laugh, you can light up the room.

“At school, too, I was the class clown and always sent into the hallway.”

Jennifer was raised in New York by her mother and joined a drama group at 11. At 15, she was accepted by the city’s High School For The Performing Arts - the Fame school.

After graduating, she spent a year starring in off-Broadway plays and working in a burger bar. Craving the limelight, Jennifer headed to Los Angeles in 1990 and won minor roles before landing the part of Rachel in Friends, for which the 5ft 5in star lost 30lbs.

Throughout this, she was supported by Nancy but, sadly, they fell out spectacularly seven years ago, when Nancy published her book From Mother And Daughter To Friends, in which she spilled embarrassing details about Jennifer’s early life.

But now, as the star contemplates motherhood, she believes the time may be right for a reconciliation and that a grandchild will help heal the rift.

She says: “My husband doesn’t know my mother and that is weird because she was my life.

“There comes a point where you have to grow up and forgive. I look in the mirror and think: ‘Oh, my God, you’re Nancy. You’ve become her, so you may as well call her.’

“There comes a point where you have to grow up… and lighten up.”

My heart goes out to those who just cannot let the idea of the Golden Couple” go. JA should be proud she has such loyal Fans. I had no idea Brad’s departing from a relationship would have that type of effect on ppl. So much so that they cannot move forward in any sense of the word. What a powerful man he is. I’m like you. I don’t dislike her, but I think the attitude of the idol worshipers here are hugely entertaining. They can’t see that you weren’t criticising her for not giving / doing enough, but merely stating the other side of the picture to inject some reality into this blown-up buffed-up halo-ed over sainthood.

If you want to ruffle more feathers, try some fairly neutral comments, like “AJ wears a lot of black”. They’ll be taking that as a criticism - ” she doesn’t have time to worry about colour / she looks good in black / she can wear whatever she wants”. Or “AJ has her hair down” , and they’d go ” she doesn’t have time to stlye her hair / she looks good with her hair down / she can wear her hair the way she likes “….. kind of merry go round.

The truth is, in short of anything that says ” Bow to the God and Goddess that is BP and AJ, and I’ll kiss their feet”, they’ll attack any other post. Mommalibu, I agree that there is a lot of tragedy around the world, some caused by natural disaster, some by human, and that those most able should give to those who need it. But I disagree when you said that all BP did was “merely divorced a woman which is a common occurence in America”. A family is the most important unit, to form a functional and stable society. God knows how many kids are screwed up bcos of broken and dysfunctional families. Just bcos divorce is getting more common doesn’t mean that we should all view marriage like a game of cards and just throw the towel in when we feel like it. No wonder America is so screwed up.

For the same reason, while I agree that BP and AJ makes a good family at present, doing a lot of honourable thing, doesn’t mean that breaking up a marriage to go with another woman is something to be proud of. Heh. That’s great that Jen shared this with the world, because now we know how secure Angelina has to feel being in a relationship with such a wonderfully loyal incredible man as Brad.

Because despite idiots like Ugly Feet squawking about the fallacy that Brad ‘broke up a marriage to go be with another woman,’ we’ve got THE FACTS which show that Pitt and Aniston were ALREADY kaput and were unofficially separated long before it hit the press.

We ALSO have Maniston and her pals verifying that.

Add to the mix that several years before Angelina was even on the scene we have two people speaking of their marriage like a cold business arrangement destined to run out of capital — and honestly, neither of them sounded like it would be too upsetting to them if and when it did.

I came on here because when I went to the JJ site, the picture was there.
