OlderAngelina Jolie Does Charitable Work
There was a supposed rift between Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman after Scotland’s Daily Record quoted Kidman as saying, “It’s not like Angelina is any better than a nurse working in a hospital, but she’s getting the publicity for her contribution.”
Yesterday, The Daily Record admitted that Kidman never said those things about Angelina and apologized for “any upset caused.” Instead, Kidman’s publicist, Catherine Olim did release a statement on behalf of Nicole Kidman:
“Ms. Kidman has tremendous admiration for Angelina Jolie and her tireless, worldwide charitable work, as well as for the work of countless less well known volunteers in areas of need around the world.”

regarding tax contribution.
1) since you claimed you’ve taken a class on tax return, you failed. If Jolie made a contribution , let say $1000, and i’m sure she is in the highest tax bracket. Definitely she deducted this $1000 on her tax return. BUT, she does not get this $1000 tax benefit . a 50 % tax bracket will only give her $500 tax benefit. in other words, a $1000 deduction gives a $500 benefit. Put it in another way, it still costs her (actual cash) of $500.
2) NONE of the magazine poked holes on her claim. Do you think these mag or media outlet are that dumb and cant figure out this “1/3 contribution” angle. Use common sense.

I go to church. but i do defend anything that is written without basis. jennifer aniston’s marriage was dead long long ago. but you cant accept that. i am surprised that you even dont know enough about tax contribution and didnt even realize what the poster “yeahright”’s posting is flawed.
A month or so ago, you posted a long post. at the end of your long comment, you described yourself as “….size 2, not a menial job, lots of admirers….”. This gives me the impression that you should make a good income, file tax return, itemized deductions, and know about contributions. But you seem to be ignorant in the area of taxation. May be you just lied about yourself?????

this is what I don’t understand, why can’t these people be happy that at least one person (Angie) is trying to make a difference in the world…IT DOESN’T MATTER whether 1/3, 1/2 etc of one’s salary is being donated…what matters is someone CARES ENOUGH to help those people who are in need…shouldn’t we thank that person instead of scrutinizing him/her…I don’t think Angie is hurting anyone or using somebody else’s money for that matter…sheesh louis

u told us yourself u dont even itemized deductions on your tax return.. u only used the standard deduction given by the IRS. that tells me how much you know.
i know a lot about taxes. i also know about high tax brackets. i know how much a person can save for every dollar of deduction. what i wrote in the above post is correct.

Federal highest tax bracket is 35%
Calif state highest tax bracket is approx 10%
Total tax bracket for federal and state is 45%.
Example :–
1M contribution
1M x 45% =450,000
1M contribution will yield $450,000 in tax savings. NOT 1M will yield 1M tax savings. I repeat, 1M will NOT yield 1M tax savings.
In other words, her real cost of this 1M contribution is $550,000.

I am grateful to be included, but I can’t keep up with all those messages. I just sent a message there as well asking to be taken out, and well….I really love you guys and all, but my husband uses our computer for our business, and there are just too many emails coming in and it is clogging things up. Please don’t be mad, I just didn’t realize it was going to be 200-300 emails a day, :lol: I don’t have time to read them all, anyway, haha! I’ll still post here and keep up the best I can.
