Angelina Jolie Does Charitable Work

Don’t get me wrong I think that Angelinas humanitarian work is great BUT do u guys praise people that have been doing this kind of work for ages constantly or have u just made AJ a saint ’cause she’s got the good looks..??

Did you read the article. Nicole Kidman is one of the classiest folks around and I knew the minute I read the alleged comments that she either didn’t make them or they had been taken totally out of context. Now the paper says she did not make them; they made them up. Nicole and Brad are friends and have a deep admiration for each other’s acting ability. Furthermore, Nicole has said previously how much she respects Angelina (when she got her to visit Dylan, the Aussie child with cancer at the hospital). We are so quick to judge. As are the bloggers, papers and mags. These folks are under tremendous pressure with everyone watching their every mood. Maybe it is time we all cut a them a break when we see obviously misquoted, made up, ridiculous stories.

Angelina looks amazingly gorgeous as usual. - on the subject of being overrated or not here are some of the things Angelina had done and show me a Hollywood figure who at the age of thirty something who has done such a notable thing in her/his life:
Angelina created a loving home to two children from the most unprivileged backgrounds;
She donates one third of her income to charity; Donated over 1 million dollars of her own money to build a children’s’ hospital in Ethiopia, She is a spokesperson for refugees around the world etc etc etc….need I say more..

I think Olim’s statement on behalf of Nicole is well phrased. There are many people that do humanitarian work and receive nor recognition at all. They give of their time and work without recompense of any sort in dangerous and difficult situations. It must be remembered that Angelina gets recognition and publicity for her charitable work and this generates public goodwill which in turn generates additional revenues at the box office. There are real saints out there and despite what fans may think, Angelina is not among them.

No one here is saying Angelina is a ’saint,’ we recognize however she is a highly influential well-meaning good-hearted person interested in those less fortunate than herself, and she walks the walk. Nicole Kidman in her rush to clarify, and deny the lying tabloids agrees.

The post that Jared put up - was done for one reason only, it’s the latest ‘news item’ on Angelina (having to do with LIES that some rag attributed to Nicole Kidman).

Nicole has denied ever having made the remarks, and has praised Angelina and given her respect and admiration. That is the reason for the new thread.

Geez, but your comprehension skills suck. The part of the article you say Olim “phrased well,” is THE LIE that she is earnestly refuting. Wake up blockhead!

I meant to add — I hope they are fine as fans in India can get crazy. I was at the TIFF premiere of a Bollywood film starring two of the biggest stars in India, and it was a madhouse. Though the crowd was not as huge as Brad’s — it was huge nonetheless, and they were loud and screaming and pushing….it was a bit nerve rattling. I would love to see Zahara & Angie in little saris — maybe they’ll go to a few functions eh?

i’ve asked this question before, but i’ve never gotten an answer. i’d really like to know why, if you’re not a fan of angelina jolie, why do you bother to visit a thread with her pictures and read comments made by her fans? i don’t want to judge you. i want to understand.

Jared - is that the new rule, as one thread gets opened another gets locked?

I’m unable to even reference back to the banksy photos to LOOK at them, let alone post — because when I use the search function it doesn’t pull up the ‘more banksy love’ thread at all. It’s like that entire thread - 12 pages, beautiful pics and all has just been flushed!! What gives???

This kind of sucks.

No offense on this thread - the pics of AJ in the car are nice, but so are the other 597 photos where she’s looking the exact same beautiful way driving in her car.

Just a suggestion, perhaps a new photo - a banksy shot or just something that we have not seen 1000 times would be cool to start a new thread with.

I hate to criticize, but it seems like the pics prior to banksy were more of the same - Ange out driving.

Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and boyfriend Brad Pitt along with their three kids Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh-Nouvel are slated to arrive in India on October 1.

The two are coming down for the shoot of the film adaptation of Mariane Pearl’s published memoirs A Mighty Heart on her slain husband, American journalist Daniel Pearl.

He was killed by Pakistani militants in 2002. Angelina is playing Mariane in the film. Brad and Angelina will apparently be staying in Pune for a month or so for the duration of the shoot.

Is Pune going to be the new Namibia in the celebrated couple’s life? When DT contacted Arti Surendranath, who’s the line producer of the project, she said, “No comments.”

i think jared’s still making adjustments. sometimes a preview box will pop up when you’re typing a comment and other times it won’t. hopefully he’ll be able to get all the bugs to work out and have the site function the way he’d like it.
