OlderAngelina Jolie Does Charitable Work
There was a supposed rift between Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman after Scotland’s Daily Record quoted Kidman as saying, “It’s not like Angelina is any better than a nurse working in a hospital, but she’s getting the publicity for her contribution.”
Yesterday, The Daily Record admitted that Kidman never said those things about Angelina and apologized for “any upset caused.” Instead, Kidman’s publicist, Catherine Olim did release a statement on behalf of Nicole Kidman:
“Ms. Kidman has tremendous admiration for Angelina Jolie and her tireless, worldwide charitable work, as well as for the work of countless less well known volunteers in areas of need around the world.”

I live in Dubai, UAE. Have been here for the past 8 years.
Until a year ago I didnt know much about Angelina Jolie - it was when the whole love triangle thing started when I got curious then started reading more about her, her life and what she does.
Well the result - I went to Africa for 3 weeks a month ago - Madagascar. I went with a group of volunteers building houses for poor families. Me - the 30-something, corporate career-, high-heel and make up woman! My friends and family were shocked.
I guess we all need just a little nudge and inspiration in the right direction!

PT i agree with you. there’s no way i could hold up under such scrutiny. i sing, dance and eat in my car. and i’ve got terrible road rage. the papps would have such crazy pics of me to circulate! i’d make britney spears look refined! but angie, as always looks lovely. any guesses about what she could possibly be thinking about while she’s stuck in traffic? i’m usually thinking “who’s the friggin’ jerk that’s holding everything up? i’ve got places to go and people to see, dammit!”

Don’t get me wrong I think that Angelinas humanitarian work is great BUT do u guys praise people that have been doing this kind of work for ages constantly or have u just made AJ a saint ’cause she’s got the good looks..??
I think Olim’s statement on behalf of Nicole is well phrased. There are many people that do humanitarian work and receive nor recognition at all. They give of their time and work without recompense of any sort in dangerous and difficult situations. It must be remembered that Angelina gets recognition and publicity for her charitable work and this generates public goodwill which in turn generates additional revenues at the box office. There are real saints out there and despite what fans may think, Angelina is not among them.

Did you read the article. Nicole Kidman is one of the classiest folks around and I knew the minute I read the alleged comments that she either didn’t make them or they had been taken totally out of context. Now the paper says she did not make them; they made them up. Nicole and Brad are friends and have a deep admiration for each other’s acting ability. Furthermore, Nicole has said previously how much she respects Angelina (when she got her to visit Dylan, the Aussie child with cancer at the hospital). We are so quick to judge. As are the bloggers, papers and mags. These folks are under tremendous pressure with everyone watching their every mood. Maybe it is time we all cut a them a break when we see obviously misquoted, made up, ridiculous stories.

I personally have not made AJ a saint. Trying to look at things in the most sensible way. Why do singers/golfers/tennis players/movies stars make millions of dollars? Coz they are more useful to society than firefighters and nurses? Of course appearance is one of the factors that determines somebody’s influence on today’s society. Again - doesn’t change the fact that AJ gets the work done - the people who’ve benefited from her work wouldn’t care less what made her famous and enabled her to do charitable work. That’s all that matters!
Angelina looks amazingly gorgeous as usual. - on the subject of being overrated or not here are some of the things Angelina had done and show me a Hollywood figure who at the age of thirty something who has done such a notable thing in her/his life:
Angelina created a loving home to two children from the most unprivileged backgrounds;
She donates one third of her income to charity; Donated over 1 million dollars of her own money to build a children’s’ hospital in Ethiopia, She is a spokesperson for refugees around the world etc etc etc….need I say more..

The post that Jared put up - was done for one reason only, it’s the latest ‘news item’ on Angelina (having to do with LIES that some rag attributed to Nicole Kidman).
Nicole has denied ever having made the remarks, and has praised Angelina and given her respect and admiration. That is the reason for the new thread.

let me explain. for the thousandth time. nobody that i know of who posts on this blog thinks angelina is a saint, and if they do, they shouldn’t. she’s a human being with faults and flaws like every homo sapien roaming the planet. nor do we think she is the wicked she-devil that she’s been labeled. she’s a good person doing good things and living a fascinating life while she’s at it. the only people who’ve labeled her a saint are the posters who come here and try to call us on “idol worship.”
the facts are simple. angelina jolie is a great humanitarian. she gives of her time, energy and money. there are pictures of her here. we look at the pictures. we post and speculate about her work, her life, her character. so if you come to a place where her pictures are up, you can expect that people are going to talk about HER. there are occasions where we mention bill gates, matt damon, bono, nicole kidman and any other celebrity that supports a worthy cause, but this ain’t their thread.

The film adaptation of Mariane Pearl’s A Mighty Heart, who is the wife of American Journalist Daniel Pearl, is going to be shot in India. Angelina Jolie who will be playing the role of Mariane, will be in India on October 1, along with boyfriend Brad Pitt and their three kids. The hottest Hollywood couple along with their kids will be in Pune for a month or so, for the shoot.
The film also stars Irfan Khan and Aly Khan who play important characters in the film.

I meant to add — I hope they are fine as fans in India can get crazy. I was at the TIFF premiere of a Bollywood film starring two of the biggest stars in India, and it was a madhouse. Though the crowd was not as huge as Brad’s — it was huge nonetheless, and they were loud and screaming and pushing….it was a bit nerve rattling. I would love to see Zahara & Angie in little saris — maybe they’ll go to a few functions eh?

You and me, both. Everybody is my family has got a notorious lead foot. Just this morning I was driving to work and the speed limit was 50 and the jerk in front of me was doing about 40! I was like, “Get the hell off the road, moron! WTF is the matter with you! I don’t wanna go to work, but if I hafta go, I don’t want to take an effin’ hour to get there when it’s only 7 miles!”
I read an interview last year with IRL Indy race car driver Danica Patrick and the interviewer asked her if she how she drove off-track and she said, “I have road rage. EVERY. DAY.” I don’t drive fast cars for a living and I have road rage every day, too!

I’m unable to even reference back to the banksy photos to LOOK at them, let alone post — because when I use the search function it doesn’t pull up the ‘more banksy love’ thread at all. It’s like that entire thread - 12 pages, beautiful pics and all has just been flushed!! What gives???

No offense on this thread - the pics of AJ in the car are nice, but so are the other 597 photos where she’s looking the exact same beautiful way driving in her car.
Just a suggestion, perhaps a new photo - a banksy shot or just something that we have not seen 1000 times would be cool to start a new thread with.
I hate to criticize, but it seems like the pics prior to banksy were more of the same - Ange out driving.
