OlderAngelina Jolie Does Charitable Work
There was a supposed rift between Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman after Scotland’s Daily Record quoted Kidman as saying, “It’s not like Angelina is any better than a nurse working in a hospital, but she’s getting the publicity for her contribution.”
Yesterday, The Daily Record admitted that Kidman never said those things about Angelina and apologized for “any upset caused.” Instead, Kidman’s publicist, Catherine Olim did release a statement on behalf of Nicole Kidman:
“Ms. Kidman has tremendous admiration for Angelina Jolie and her tireless, worldwide charitable work, as well as for the work of countless less well known volunteers in areas of need around the world.”

Hey MO Fan - I heard about it on the radio this morning. It truly amazes me that anyone would think a woman could give birth at home by herself with no complications AND cut the umbilical cord herself. Her entire story was stupid, but it took the family 2 or 3 days to catch on that something wasn’t right. Scary.

Dragonfly: We need to be patient with Sarah. It’s not easy having all those different personalities. She’s got to check with all 100 to come up with one answer to just one question. After that, she’s got to contact Ritzy and make sure they have their stories straight. It’s so difficult when you suffer from mental problems like Lisa, Sarah and Ritzy and all those ‘zombies’ who posts with not an ounce of gray cells between them! Sad bunch of loseres that they are.

I stayed out of the Babel box office debate last night, but I’m going to agree with Lylian on this. If it doesn’t get to the $100MIL domestic mark, it’ll get close. What people seem to be forgetting is the amount of hype this film has going for it. AND that’s even though it’s a small film, it features an international cast from countries who have a lot of citizens living in the US. This isn’t some small-time Indie flick about only white people. A lot of foreign people live in this country and the movie will strike a cord with a more diverse audience than the typical indie flick.

Actually…I do have something like that where I am. There are some Menonnite and Amish communities about 30 miles away and in some of the smaller touristy towns around them they’re frequently seen driving their horse & buggy…in the middle of the road. It’s always a treat to to plod along at 2 mph behind them.

I stayed out of it, too. While I am reluctant to predict any numbers, I think if people don’t go to see this film, they will at least be aware of it. I think it has a higher profile than your average indie film, too. I will probably have to travel somewhere to see it….Savannah is notoriously backwards and culturally parched when it comes to movies. Alot of really great, smaller movies never rortate through our theatres. I wanted to see Dogma, and we had to see it in Atlanta when there visiting friends…it was too “controversial” and the religious folks were having a bleeping fit. Brokeback did come here, but under loud protest. The Christians were picketing the the theatre and yelling at people and everything…. Don’t even get me started on what went on with The DaVinci Code. Anhyoo, I agree with you about Babel, alot of international people will see it, and it will likely only run in the larger cities. I hope I get to catch it.

RDT - Yeah…I was in lust, er love, with James Marsters for a long time. Last year he played Brainiac on Smallville for about a dozen episodes and I watched just for him. It was torture, too. That Tom Welling is about as emotive as a brick wall. Bleh. Watching Marsters trying to breathe some life into their scenes when Welling can’t walk and talk at the same time was more than a girl in lust should have to bear.
Amaa: I don’t see the problem with having a ‘best friend’ you want to hang out with. I really don’t. A ‘best friend’ is someone you feel comfortable with at all times, and I really don’t think Oprah trusts anyone and feels comfortable hangin’ with Gayle. I see zippo problems here. You know the truth will ALWAYS come out, so one day we’ll know if they were Gay or not. Me, I don’t care, as I don’t like Oprah.
By the way, pardon my ignorance, but how do she do that “fake and positive”?

A few years ago it wouldn’t have been that hard to do. Plus, you forget - she’s in the show biz. She knows people who make props all the time. A fake positive pregnancy test wouldn’t be that hard to make. If you got one of those tests that was basically a chemically treated litmus paper on a stick, all you’d need to do is play with red or pink food coloring until you just the color just right.
