OlderAngelina Jolie Does Charitable Work
There was a supposed rift between Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman after Scotland’s Daily Record quoted Kidman as saying, “It’s not like Angelina is any better than a nurse working in a hospital, but she’s getting the publicity for her contribution.”
Yesterday, The Daily Record admitted that Kidman never said those things about Angelina and apologized for “any upset caused.” Instead, Kidman’s publicist, Catherine Olim did release a statement on behalf of Nicole Kidman:
“Ms. Kidman has tremendous admiration for Angelina Jolie and her tireless, worldwide charitable work, as well as for the work of countless less well known volunteers in areas of need around the world.”

Thank you for your concern. But I do find your assumption predictable and laughable. Can I then extrapolate this to mean that you are some misfit of society, poorly understood by everyone around you, but you are now injected with hope that your Prince Charming will definitely see through all this, and preferably arrive via another woman’s arm ;-)
Why do you guys have to think I’m bitter? I’m just saying what’s right and what’s wrong. Doing charity work is right. Breaking up a family / marriage is wrong. Trying to find time to spend with your partner and children in btwn shoots is right. Marrying for rebound( if that is the case)is wrong….. The list goes on, and frankly, is my opnion, so are yours on here. I think AJ and BP shows good commitment to each other, but I don’t think the way he got there is something to be praised about, and this is just consistently my thought.
And I’m just consistently surprise by the blanket acceptance by a lot of you on here regarding whatever they do / say / wear, and cannot be commented in anyway other than utter gushing. To lose the ability to listen to others’ opnion and to decide for yourslef, to applaud and follow regardless, someone or something, is bilind worshipping.
631 | Passing Through - I think Babel is going to have much critical acclaim and MODEST success at the box office, but there is NO WAY that movie will make $100 million (domestically). Worldwide, MAYBE. That isn’t necessarily indicative of its success. Its a smaller movie, its an ensemble “arty”/indie movie. Its not expected to be a blockbuster necessarily. Of course, it would never HURT it to do very well, but I just think its a little unrealistic to expect it to make that much $$.
I would put it at 75-80 million, which is about where Brokeback Mountain was domestically.

Thank you for posting that article! It was a great read. I think a lot of people whether they are on this blog or are writers/journalists/the common man feel that AJ does this as a publicity stunt and they fail FAIL FAIL to find out the facts. That she has been doing this for more than six years–long before she became BRANGELINA, long before she really became a superstar. Her book, Notes from My Travels, is a stark, simple well written memoir that shows this young actress changing because of the things she sees and experiences. Through her simple words you can see and feel the devastation of these refugee situations. She has said it has changed her and unlike a Lindsay Lohan who goes over for a day, she stayed with the UNHCR and does what she can to bring attention to the situation. Here is this beautiful, inside and out, person who loves and is devoted to her children, who is devoted to her causes, who can play “hollywood” with the best of them, but prefers the simple life with her children and Brad. Why wouldn’t Brad take a look at her and say “this woman is for me?” She is supporting and nurturing Brad in such a way that he has become much more aware of the world and what he can do for it. Both of them love those kids, both of them are trying to become better actors, but more importantly better human beings with their respective causes. Guess this why I don’t understand the haters. You can dislike what you perceive to see their actions (falling in love) as being hurtful to JA, but to harp on them constantly, say mean things about their kids and worse…you guys belong in a mental ward!

For some reason I thought I read at the time, that when the money was distributed they’d do some kind of press conference.
But now, I really hope that’s not the case, as inevitably the haters would claim they were trying to ‘buy’ goodwill or some such nonsense.
The only time we’ll hear about it most likely is at year end when non-profits announce significant donations or contributions.

I can see what you are saying. You have your own opinons about what’s right and what’s wrong.
And I can see your point about a lot of people having blanket opinions about Brad & Angelina. But the truth of the matter is that the public are outsiders. No one knows what goes on in total stranger’s lives. Everything besides facts are pure speculation. Brad & jennifer aniston got divorced (fact). Brad adopted Maddox and Zahara (fact) brad & Angelina had their own biological child (fact). Their public appearances?(fact) BAMZS lives under the same roof? (fact). Other than that, everything ,including all scenarios leading up & involving those facts is pure speculation.
yes At times it can get fan like but it’s worse on and actual fansites and all celebrities from A list to Z list have fans gushing over themon farious sites. Even polititions have fans! Clergy have fans. Criminals have fans. You are going to get upset that Brad & Angelina have fans? Brad has a 15 year fanbase and Angelina has a 10 year + one. You fail to realize this. They are no different than any other celebrity, well maybe their looks but really you might as well go to every blog in cyberspace and give your views on what’s right & what’s wrong.
I’m a fan but there are things that I don’t like about Brad or Angelina but this blog is really miscast as a fan site. because a blog really is open to all including critics. That whole email business is a good way to avoid people like you because your views are not appreciated. I’ve been a part of email clubs and it’s deadly. They should really set up weekly or daily chatrooms. That would be much better.

1) why do you always say we are worshipping ?
Liking a person is in NO way worshipping a person. I root for Boston Sox. Do I worship them??? I am a fan to them. Is Boston Sox my idol??? absolutly NOT !!!!.
2) You keep talking about breaking up a marriage. There were cracks in the marriage many many years ago. Remember cracks formed over a period of time. He did try to work it out. If he had put an effort to it and still didnt work out, why cant they split??? Trying to force a relationship will NEVER work.

Because they know it’s a fact. You cant poke holes. She filed tax return. There is IRS. As for the money that went to charity. On your post #646, you said you have an accountant, why dont you ask about tax exempt org. This is a high profile transaction. Use common sense, no one dare monkeying around it. The IRS is looking at that.
In summary, we dont worship Jolie/Pitt. We dont put her in an saint category. YOU are the one who mistakenly label us.

Hey Girl!! I LOOOOOOVED Spike!!! His British accent was amazing, as you’d never know he was American. He was sooooo funny in a scene where he’s tied up in a bath tub and he wants the TV on because he has to watch “Passions”. Miss Buffy. Loved that Show and Looooooooooooved Angel. Ahhhh, Spike. As Harmony used to say, “My beautiful platinum blond baby!”
A couple of things about the British accent - Marsters always complained that he could never quite get it right. Plus, if you’ll notice over the course of the show the accent changed. When Spike first showed up in season 2 he had fairly average sounding, middle class, British accent. But, when he became a permanent cast member in Season 4 he had that lower class, almost Cockney accent and a completely punk attitude. Now go to season 5’s flashbacks that show how Spike became a vampire. Spike is actually from the British UPPER CLASS and he has a very refined accent. So over the course of the 5 years he was on the show Marsters actually had to master 3 or 4 different British accents and that’s why he said he was never completely happy with the way he did any of them.
Here’s another piece of trivia - You know that guy who played Giles, Anthony Stewart Head? He’s British, but the accent he used on the show isn’t his natural accent! His accent is actually more like season 4-7 Spike! And Marsters even said that when he was having problems figuring out how to say certain words he’d just get Tony Head to say them and repeat what how he was saying it until he got it right.

The foundation, since monies are being channeled into it, is governed by the laws of this country which means AJ and BP can’t take the money out and go “Oh lets go buy a Porsche.” The money is directed via the rules and regulations the foundation was set up on. If you can read when you aren’t out tomcatting Mz. Maggiethecat–why don’t you google it like another person suggested…that is if you have enough intelligence to figure out how to use google or you have a mind that is open enough to absorb a fact or two.

‘Foundations,’ have to be legally established as ‘non-profits,’ and there is strict adherence to code and distribution of funds.
In other words, dumbazz, Brad & Angelina just didn’t announce they have a foundation and trot over to a local bank, open a new checking account where they deposited Shiloh’s check and got matching atm debit cards.
Fanistons are indeed as dumb as she is.

Ok, here’s one point of your post I can discuss with you. I don’t believe Brad is on the rebound from Jen at all right now. In order to be on the rebound, you have to be emotionally invested in a relationship that went bad, and even Jen said Brad was “emotionally gone” from their marriage by the time he began filming MAMS. I think Jen was Brad’s rebound from Gwenyth P, and that’s why he and Jen didn’t work out. When Angie came along, just has the Babel director said Brad told him, Brad fell “instantaneously and passionately in love with Angie”. C Cox said Brad fought it for a long time, and I think at some point he decided that he had to have Angie in his life in order to be happy. That’s not the definition of a rebound to me. Jen was the rebound, not Angie. Vince was Jen’s rebound from Brad, however.

See dancer’s post # 662. She’s right. The foundation is set up to dispurse money, which has likely already had some draws on it. It’s public and you have to declare what and where the money goes to. You can’t just draw on it to go on a shopping spree. Read and understand.

But I agree with you. Jennifer Aniston told some womens mag about hooking up with VV that she didnt want to be “the rebound girl” She’s good with the sound bites no? Anyway, I laughed bc she was the rebound girl…. for seven yrs. She hooked up with Brad very soon after Gwen broke his heart. She sleeps with him on the first date and moves in ASAP. She was the ultimate rebound. Notice in his first interview he never mentions her. I honestly think he will never disc her. Not even one sentence. At this point he is all about his family and all about building the life he wants with Angelina and the life he always wanted. Jennifer was a mistake, a rebound.
VV isnt Jen’s rebound though. Its simply to manipulative losers hanging around each other till they find the next victims to hook up with.
