OlderAngelina Jolie Does Charitable Work
There was a supposed rift between Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman after Scotland’s Daily Record quoted Kidman as saying, “It’s not like Angelina is any better than a nurse working in a hospital, but she’s getting the publicity for her contribution.”
Yesterday, The Daily Record admitted that Kidman never said those things about Angelina and apologized for “any upset caused.” Instead, Kidman’s publicist, Catherine Olim did release a statement on behalf of Nicole Kidman:
“Ms. Kidman has tremendous admiration for Angelina Jolie and her tireless, worldwide charitable work, as well as for the work of countless less well known volunteers in areas of need around the world.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, totin’ home art, not kids, for once. The twosome stopped by Banksy’s Barely Legal Art Show in downtown Hell-Ay, which included a live, brightly painted elephant as part of the exhibit. Brad & Ange bought eight pieces and were “not the brightest couple in the room,” according to one witness who overheard them discussing art. Such damn snobs, those gallery types, I always say. Don’t worry, you gorgeous twosome, you. Also in arty attendance: Beck, Kirsten Dunst and Giovanni Ribisi.

Getty: Brent Stirton Was Baby Shiloh Photographer

Photojournalist Brent Stirton can now claim his proper place in the annals of photo history.
Getty Images confirmed Wednesday that Stirton was the secret shooter who captured the multi-million dollar pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s newborn daughter Shiloh.
Stirton was identified as the photographer by PopPhoto.com. Getty Images spokesperson Molly Lohman confirmed that the report is true.
Until Wednesday, Getty Images had gone to great lengths to keep the identity of the photographer a secret, saying it was doing so at the request of the Pitt-Jolie family. Magazine editors who knew details about the shoot were also sworn to secrecy.
PDN spoke to Stirton June 8, the day the —- were published in People magazine, to ask if he was the Shiloh photographer. “It’s not me,” he replied. Asked if he knew who it was, Stirton said, “I have a suspicion that it’s someone who is connected to them,” referring to Pitt and Jolie.
Stirton was traveling today and did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.
Stirton was a likely choice for the shoot because of his involvement in Getty Images’s coverage of the AIDS crisis in Africa, a cause dear to Pitt and Jolie. His images were used to promote the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, of which Getty Images is a member.
Stirton’s work is also a favorite of Getty Images CEO Jonathan Klein, whose relationship with Jolie was instrumental in Getty securing the rights to the much-hyped baby —-. Klein and Jolie met at a congressional briefing on AIDS and HIV last year.[U]
Pitt and Jolie said they would give all the proceeds from the —- – reported to be as much as $10 million worldwide – to charities, though they have never announced which ones. Getty said it would not profit from the pictures.
If the $10 million number is to be believed, the Pitt-Jolie baby pictures are the most expensive —- ever licensed. The deal was the biggest example so far of celebrities dealing directly with photo agencies to ensure the images are released discretely and on their own terms - and for the highest possible price.
This week, Getty Images sealed another major celebrity deal when it licensed the ghoulish family photos of Anna Nicole Smith’s older son Daniel Smith, taken shortly before his mysterious death in the Bahamas.
The images, which ended up in the hands of In Touch Weekly and “Entertainment Tonight,” were bidding for between $300,000 and $400,000 for U.S. print rights and $250,000 for TV rights, according to one person familiar with the negotiations.
The Smith images were first revealed Wednesday in the New York Daily News and New York Post as a promotion for this week’s issue of In Touch.

Hey guys, how come we didn’t see or hear anything about the dinner with George?
4Q - That was the impression I got at the time too. We also need to remember - with all that money, they need to investigate the different agencies they want to help. I am on the board of my library, and you would not believe the hoops we have to jump through to get funding for a much needed new library. Places we want grants or funding or donations from ask for pages and pages of information! At the level they are now dealing at, it is necessary to prove that they give to legitimate people.
