OlderAngelina Jolie Does Charitable Work
There was a supposed rift between Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman after Scotland’s Daily Record quoted Kidman as saying, “It’s not like Angelina is any better than a nurse working in a hospital, but she’s getting the publicity for her contribution.”
Yesterday, The Daily Record admitted that Kidman never said those things about Angelina and apologized for “any upset caused.” Instead, Kidman’s publicist, Catherine Olim did release a statement on behalf of Nicole Kidman:
“Ms. Kidman has tremendous admiration for Angelina Jolie and her tireless, worldwide charitable work, as well as for the work of countless less well known volunteers in areas of need around the world.”

I’m like you. I don’t dislike her, but I think the attitude of the idol worshipers here are hugely entertaining. They can’t see that you weren’t criticising her for not giving / doing enough, but merely stating the other side of the picture to inject some reality into this blown-up buffed-up halo-ed over sainthood.
If you want to ruffle more feathers, try some fairly neutral comments, like “AJ wears a lot of black”. They’ll be taking that as a criticism - ” she doesn’t have time to worry about colour / she looks good in black / she can wear whatever she wants”. Or “AJ has her hair down” , and they’d go ” she doesn’t have time to stlye her hair / she looks good with her hair down / she can wear her hair the way she likes “….. kind of merry go round.
The truth is, in short of anything that says ” Bow to the God and Goddess that is BP and AJ, and I’ll kiss their feet”, they’ll attack any other post. Usually with ” you don’t give anything to charity so STFU”, or more comically, “why are you here”. Thus making the assumption that 1. ppl that don’t share the same religion / idol worship as them can’t come here to read for entertainment value, and 2. that if they do, they shouldn’t point out a different point of view. And oh, they’ll bring in JA and insist you are from that camp as well.
Mommalibu, I agree that there is a lot of tragedy around the world, some caused by natural disaster, some by human, and that those most able should give to those who need it. But I disagree when you said that all BP did was “merely divorced a woman which is a common occurence in America”. A family is the most important unit, to form a functional and stable society. God knows how many kids are screwed up bcos of broken and dysfunctional families. Just bcos divorce is getting more common doesn’t mean that we should all view marriage like a game of cards and just throw the towel in when we feel like it. No wonder America is so screwed up.
For the same reason, while I agree that BP and AJ makes a good family at present, doing a lot of honourable thing, doesn’t mean that breaking up a marriage to go with another woman is something to be proud of. The reason, timing etc had all been argued on here. I just don’t blanketly think they’re always right

I’m glad that the Pitts will not be in Pakistan filming, I’ve heard there are many kidnapping incident there. I hope they took extra precaution in India as well.

Jared, Cliniqua needs to learn tolerance for other people’s views. Why don’t you censor her once and for all? Has she become the judge who decides what people should think and post? She is ethically and morally challenged.
We’re just fans who admire Angelina’s humanitarian work. We don’t think she’s a saint and we know she has flaws just like the rest of us do. Another thing I admire about her is the way she changed her life around for the better.

Heh. That’s great that Jen shared this with the world, because now we know how secure Angelina has to feel being in a relationship with such a wonderfully loyal incredible man as Brad.
Because despite idiots like Ugly Feet squawking about the fallacy that Brad ‘broke up a marriage to go be with another woman,’ we’ve got THE FACTS which show that Pitt and Aniston were ALREADY kaput and were unofficially separated long before it hit the press.
We ALSO have Maniston and her pals verifying that.
Add to the mix that several years before Angelina was even on the scene we have two people speaking of their marriage like a cold business arrangement destined to run out of capital — and honestly, neither of them sounded like it would be too upsetting to them if and when it did.
So Ugly Feet should take her idol at her word - that unlike what most of the jelaous embittered angry women who hate Angelina want to believe, Brad is a good loyal and honest man, who as Angie’s mom said, ’supports and loves her in every way.’
Maniston had that, neglected it - and then failed (like Brad) to see their marriage for what it was (an unfortunate rebound situation destined to end). You need passion, respect and common goals and interests to not only survive - but flourish. Maniston & Brad had none of that. None of that was Angie’s fault - Brad had seemingly come to this conclusion on his own way before MAMS even started shooting. Maniston was just REAL slow in catching on. I don’t blame her. Who wants to lose a good man like Brad Pitt. Like she said, ’she’ll love him for the rest of her life.’ (Btw news bulletin Ugly Feet, if you’ve truly been done wrong, you don’t say sh*t like this) I believe Paltrow said something similar. They know Brad is gold. They were just idiots(Paltrow) and unfortunate losers(Maniston) who found out too late, and are left to wonder, ‘What if…?’
Also, Man didn’t lie about kids at the end - I believe if she knew Brad was soon to be a memory she would have tried her damndest to get knocked up. But as her friends stated in VF, Brad didn’t care anymore - and wasn’t eager or willing to have children with her. Kids were off the table. That’s why the ’she lied about kids’ carries no weight with me, and I cut her much slack. She said it wasn’t true, and Brad says it B.S. I believe Brad. There was NOTHING Maniston could have done - he was long gone.
JA fans come here with their negativity and then whine to Just Jared when they do not like the response that is given. Haters have put forth the same lame arguments over and over and frankly it becomming a nuisance. AJ has not declared herself a saint or the Queen of all humanity. She is just a woman trying to make a difference the way she knows how. She has inspired others to do the same. Haters hate the fact that there are people in the world that admire her and do not resort to the vile name calling and nitpicking that they are famous for. They continue to harp on a marriage that is none of their business and no one knows what actually contribute to the demise of this marriage. It has been almost two years and haters are singing the same old tune. As malibumom stated so profoundly, there are more pressing problems in the world and if celebrites such as AJ can help, whether through donations or time to elevate some of these problems, then this is good. You can sit there and count her charitable contributions all you want, the fact is she is contributing and helping. JA fans really need to let go of their bitterness. The world does not stop revolving because you do not like AJ and cannot let go of a hollywood marriage. No one knows how long BP/AJ will last, but I wish them and their children all the best.

OH MY! Benjamin Button is an incredible, wonderful story. i just finished reading it. i really hope the screenplay does f. scott’s story justice. the effects of aging brad and the rejuvenating him should be interesting. it will also be interesting to see if they keep the story in the same time frame from the civil war to world war I. geez! the movie hasn’t been filmed yet and i’m already excited.

regarding tax contribution.
1) since you claimed you’ve taken a class on tax return, you failed. If Jolie made a contribution , let say $1000, and i’m sure she is in the highest tax bracket. Definitely she deducted this $1000 on her tax return. BUT, she does not get this $1000 tax benefit . a 50 % tax bracket will only give her $500 tax benefit. in other words, a $1000 deduction gives a $500 benefit. Put it in another way, it still costs her (actual cash) of $500.
2) NONE of the magazine poked holes on her claim. Do you think these mag or media outlet are that dumb and cant figure out this “1/3 contribution” angle. Use common sense.

A month or so ago, you posted a long post. at the end of your long comment, you described yourself as “….size 2, not a menial job, lots of admirers….”. This gives me the impression that you should make a good income, file tax return, itemized deductions, and know about contributions. But you seem to be ignorant in the area of taxation. May be you just lied about yourself?????

i know a lot about taxes. i also know about high tax brackets. i know how much a person can save for every dollar of deduction. what i wrote in the above post is correct.
