Women in Hollywood, actresses, models and a lot of women are trying to plump or enhance their lips because they want to copy AJ. ITA; Jen was always so concerned about the fans’ perception of her so much so that all her actions post-divorce have been geared towards making people love her more and/or feel sorry for her (even as she said “Don’t pity me!”). She decided to use the VF interview to start her pity party (whether of her own volition or per S. Huvane’s suggestion/orders) and then freefell from there. Instead of getting more fans, a lot of the women saw through her manipulations and became disgusted. And some of us (like me) who at first were on the fence about this whole thing decided to go whole hog with “Team Angelina” because nothing is more pathetic than a self-pitying, whining person who can’t seem to move on with her life!!!

to Angelina, my own thinking is that most of the credit for media
manipulation since Angelina hooked up with Brad is actually
Brad’s. I think Brad is the more calculative of the 2. I don’t mean

course and the greens and plays the golf course, adapting his
game to the course, the weather etc. Brad just strikes me as the
one who reads the media “golf course” and weather etc and sets

with Brad about this. Why do I think Brad is the more calculative.
Well, its the way he has set up his production company for a start
- its really Plan B for when his movie star status starts to fade as it
will one day. Plan B is ready and running. Look at the way he
cooly bought up 3 homes in Los Feliz, and patiently developed the

One of the reasons why I like this couple is that they do what they
have to do and live their lives doing what is important to them.
Despite the fact that it may be better to be married, better not to
have Shiloh till later, better to do the usual thing and have Shiloh
in that fancy hospital in LA, they do what the want and manage
the media accordingly. They have not uttered a negative word
about anyone, especially Jennifer. No, Brad didn’t really say
anything negative about Mel Gibson - it was a inference but you
can’t be certain.

Jennifer on the other hand lost my support and other womens
support after her VF interview and of course other interviews. I
KNOW the celebrities manipuliate, but I don’t like being frog
marched in a particular direction - to pitying her. To thinking of
her as this sweet thing and letting her friends wield the stilleto. I
can’t respect her actions. I think she will always be remembered
as the victim. Yes, she got a short term gain but, really, in
another12 months, can she still be poor sad X, cheated out of her
happiness??

Good Points. I guess it gets down to who do you allow at the steering wheel. I am not a control freak, but I don demand to make the final decisions in my life. I too was on the fence about Jen because I liked her and really I still do. I do not hate this lady. Unlike Fanistons, I don’t throw the baby out withthe bathwater. There are things I admire about Jen. It’s just I lost respect and admiration for her when she turned the tables on Brad. Her VF intervew and subsequent ones are totally responsible for the hatred towards Brad and Angie. Brad almost said something specific about his relationship with Angie a long time ago way before they were an absolute couple. But he changed his mind. He could have said so many bad things about Jen and I am sure he has lots of ppl who could have taken his side in an intervew, but he chose NOT to say anything. I believe there was an agreement between them to not say anything until their movies were done. But she didn’t keep her part of the bargain because he quickly went on to Jolie. Why would he tell her about his feelings if he and Jen were going to stay together? I believe he told her because he knew that’s the direction he wanted to go in after the separation but he fought it because it would be months before he would be able to do so and Jen’s movies wouldn’t be complete. Jen probly was not in love with Brad for a long time. She jsut didn’t have anyone else to go to at the time. So in a nut shell, The Jolie-Pitts get my admiration as movie stars and humanitarians. Jen on the other hand gets what she wanted-Pity. I agree with the calculative Brad persona. I believe that too. It can be used to your advantage or disadvantage.

hmmmmm-Everyone falls “out of love” You just get to a point where your admiration starts to dwindle away despite what you felt at first. You see dating is often referred to as “The Big LIE” because you don’t get to see the real person. Also a great percentage of ppl who live together first then marry do not make it. I give Jennifer credit for being able to know what her feelings are. All of her interviews infer that they both wanted out for whatever reason. Of course in the VF interview she said She still loves Brad. I believe he said they both still had great love for each other. That kind of love is totally different than agape love. See there are at least three types of love. eros (sensual) agape (friendly) and Phileo(brotherly). Although I have no personal knowlege I am of the mind that they consumed each other with eros love and once settled into married life, it evolved to a level of agape then phileo. This is just my opinion and some of what I have experienced. You see we perceive ppl by the way the present themselves. If a gorgeous man shows up at a restaurant with an unattractive woman we immediately think “how did she land him” But it could be that he sought her because she is funky rich or something-But in looking at him, we would perceive HIM to be FUNKY rich instead of her. With Brad, we look at him and his rugged good looks and assume many things about him, but really we don’t know. So for JA, I say she had her mind set on the type of person he was and when he didn’t meet that expectation she started to feel otherwise. This probably was true for him too. The reason I believe this, is because I think if a woman really wanted to keep a man and she was totally aware of what that would take, she would use every ounce of her being to do so.

I love that I could walk to Barnes and Nobles and buy books. I have to walk all the way to Broadway to Boarders. I remember stopping off at Boarders in the World Trade every night before I went home and visiting my friends in the Warner Brothers store. Please don’t even bother to call this a “clique”. We’re just trying to keep the haters and trolls out. There are currently almost 25 people in the group, so if you’ve posted here semi-frequently in recent times, someone is bound to know you and can tell the group you’re okay to let in.

Last, we do not intend for the new group to replace Jared as our main BAMZS meeting place. We will still be using Jared as our springboard. The group is mainly a failsafe in case Jared has server problems or so we can discuss personal issues without being inundated by sick people
like the troll who made vile remarks about Elena’s personal tragedy and Guli’s son. That was uncalled for and evil.

When we have things settled we will discuss when/whether or not to open the group up to new members. At that time we will provide an e-mail address for you to send your requests to so that Jared won’t have to act as a middle-man again.

I think after a few years, BP’s women actually get delusional and start thinking that ‘without him,’ they are STILL as intriguing to the public as with him. So when they were contemplating/planning the divorce, and she for all intents and purposes thought she’d be okay — and things were civil and friendly with Brad, I truly think she thought at that time that she and Brad were on some kind of equal footing. Yet Maniston saw his adopting Zee, them moving in together, AJ getting pregnant — as ‘moves’ to hurt her. wtf? That’s her in a nutshell, totally oblivious and selfish as hell.

I personally feel Jen wanted to establish her movie career. She did say on one of the reward night, when she accepted her “trophy”, she said, next is oscar.

Amaya: While I agree with you on some points, I’m a bit confused with someone who has made tons of monies on TV and can sit back and enjoy having children with the man she says she loves. This is what I just don’t understand. Yes, timing between two people can be wrong, but she could have had her baby and still had made movies — look at all the actors out there who have babies and make movies — Angie for example. She was making the movie with Matt and had Madd and Z with her. This is the bit that confuses me. X didn’t want for money. Her EGO got in the way, I think, because it’s the only conclusion I can come up with. And now, we’ve got major stars showing up on the small tube. I agree, I think that people were curious, but not fascinated. They
looked at the pics, said, “Oh THAT’S what she looks like” and
moved on. Whereas they are fascinated with who Brad and Angie
are, their love story, their interests, their activities, their movies,
their friends, their kids, what they’ll wear, say, do next. It’s
completely different.

How can you say that Jen Aniston hurt children? Angelina was the one sleeping with someone while not married, and she was the mother. She is the one who became pregnant to a still married (by law) man, and that is something the children will find out when they get older…just by reading about it. I think this whole thing could have/should have been handled a whole lot better, if Mr. Small Dinky would have kept his small dinky in his pants, or at least have used contraception until he was not legally married. The whole thing just makes them look bad. Regardless of who was out of the marriage “emotionally” at the time. And, to the poster who says that there are alot more people who idolize them than do not, I beg to differ. I am an upper middle-class person (so average) from the midwest, and cannot find one (honestly, not one) person who likes them anymore. Yes, they do charity work, but so do alot of people. No, I cannot fly off to Africa because of committments and finances, but it is easier for some than others to do those kinds of things. I do believe that there are alot of celebrities who do tireless work for charities. Marlo Thomas, Jerry Lewis, Bono, Matt Damon, etc…just to name a few. And, Brad…poor Brad, is becoming this puppet-like person. His statement about not marrying just made him a laughingstock. So let me see if I got this right. The fact that JA did not get pregnant with VV even though she was stradling his small dinky is okay. Yeah Right. Have you guys seen the cover of the National Enquirer? I was at the store earlier and saw it, but didn’t have time to check out their mini-fiction. Angelina Jolie & boyfriend Brad Pitt donated $1 Million to two charitable organizations. First to Global Action for Children (GAC), an advocacy coalition based in Washington, D.C., and Medecins Sans Frontieres aim to improve life for people living in poverty in troubled areas of the world and to mobilize billions needed to care for orphans worldwide. In June, both Jolie & Pitt sold photos of their new baby to raise money for charity. 
It was speculated by experts that the global rights to the first images of the couple with their daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, will have raised as much as $7m (£3.75m).

The Hollywood couple also donated $300,000 (£160,000) towards maternity equipment in Namibia, place where their daughter was born.

Both organizations benefiting from the couple‘s most recent donation thanked the pair for their generosity.

Director Global Action for Children Jennifer Delaney said “we are absolutely excited and grateful for their generous donation”. She went on to say that “Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt not only care, but more importantly, are taking concrete action to address the fact that there will be 20 million children orphaned by HIV disease by 2010 and millions more orphaned by tuberculosis, malaria and conflict, or whose parents are sick and dying. Majority of these children are being under the care of foster families and communities that desperately need support to overcome the spread of HIV/AIDS and poverty.”

Jolie and Pitt have given the opportunity and whatever is required to help the communities and to bring up these kids.

In a statement, Jolie said: “I have seen these brave men and women working in war zones and horrific conditions and I deeply admire them.”

Global Action for Children will raise a campaign and calling on the U.S. government and all G8 nations to mobilize the billions of dollars needed in response to the crisis of orphans and vulnerable children plan to launch in early 2007.

Last November, Angelina Jolie worked with Global Action for Children to urge the U.S. Congress to fully fund programs to meet the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children worldwide.

Earlier this year, she and Pitt toured refugee camps in Pakistan. She was given citizenship of Cambodia, where she adopted her eldest child Maddox, in recognition of her humanitarian work.

Jolie, age 30, popular Hollywood star was appointed a UN goodwill ambassador in 2001 because of her work in Sierra Leone, Pakistan and Tanzania.

I am not sure that I have ever risen to the defense of Brad Pitt and
Angelina Jolie before. They certainly haven’t risen to my defense, because
I would have remembered that. There’s no journalistic upside to defending
overdogs; at best, people think you’re a suck-up; at worst, they think
you’re a rabid running dog of the decadent celebrity culture.
But that’s what I’m doing. Background: Brad Pitt, a movie actor, and
Angelina Jolie, a movie actress (many of my readers are reclusive
intellectuals and do not follow celebrity gossip or, indeed, any news at
all from the 21st century) (which, when you think about it, is not that
bad an idea) have been “going together,” as the kids say, for a few years
now. In that time, Pitt has joined Jolie in her humanitarian efforts.
“Angelina Jolie’s humanitarian efforts” is a phrase that makes a lot of
people smile. Some kind of publicity stunt, perhaps? Some deluded
do-gooder work by a washed-up actress? Well, no. She’s been working with
the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for half a
decade now. She has adopted two children, one from Cambodia and one from
Ethiopia.
She has visited refugee camps in Cambodia, Pakistan, Kenya, Namibia,
Tanzania, Russia, Egypt, Haiti and Darfur. Current score: number of times
President Bush has visited refugee camps in any of those countries: zero;
number of times Angelina Jolie has those places: dozens. She has visited
Darfur more times than any high-level member of the administration. And
visiting Darfur is no picnic even if you are rich, famous and beautiful.
(The idea that being rich, famous and beautiful inoculates against all

their hearts, they are just as fearful and restless and confused as the
rest of us. And there’s no rule book for celebrity, so they’re doubly
confused and triply weirded out. But yes, their sheets have a high thread

Angelina Jolie is doing fame jujitsu. She is taking the strength of your
admiration for her beauty and her charm, and throwing you over her
shoulder and into a fly-infested hellhole in Sudan and saying, “Pay
attention.” This is not a bad thing. It’s culture-jamming, only done by
someone at the top rather than someone at the bottom.
So she got together with extremely handsome movie star Brad Pitt and said,
“Love me, love my refugee camps,” and he did! So now they’re doing it
together. More fame jujitsu: When they had a baby together this summer,
Jolie capitalized on the (utterly bewildering) interest in celebrity baby
photos by selling the photos to Getty Images and donating the proceeds to
UNICEF.
This is a good thing.
I was reading in this newspaper the other week an article by Cintra
Wilson. The essential point she was making is pretty good: The Bush
administration is so obsessed with power and money and God, that
unqualified celebrities have to take the lead in working for the underdog.
But this point is entirely undercut by the knee-jerk smarm of the writing.
Is Brad Pitt really a “toxic bachelor”? And what does that mean? Is Spike
Lee really the “soft-core bard of African America,” and what does that
mean? (The man who made “Do The Right Thing” is soft core? Render unto me
a break.) She means to be praising Lee in that sentence, but it sure
doesn’t come out that way.
She writes: “Like celebrities don’t have enough to do, with all their
tragic marriages, drug-addled children and surgical neck- lifts.”
You don’t have to be a celebrity to have a tragic marriage or a
drug-addled child. It is not remotely fair to assume that people who act
in movies are less sad about loss and suffering than clerks, truck drivers
or journalists. It is not even really fair to blame movie actors for the
strange code-red level of projection and envy that surrounds them.
Envy is the flip side of celebrity journalism. It’s probably easy to hate
celebrities if you stand in the cold all night trying to take a photograph
of them, but why should the rest of us care? Aren’t those all the cheapest
of cheap shots, and don’t we all have something better to do? Maybe we
could scrape up some money and fly to Darfur. I hear this is the
off-season.

Though this is not a Jennifer thread, it seems a good place to
make the comment as I know some Jenfans are coming on this
thread to make their comments. (I made any comments on
the Jennifer threads for weeks now ).

So here are my 2 cents worth. I really think that Jennifer’s VF
interview and the way she handled the divorce has and will
continue to do her a big disservice to her life in at least 2 ways.

Picture this. If you were someone from the industry, would you
date Jennifer after the way she used her friends and the
interviewer to slag off Brad in the VF Interview while trying to
come out smelling sweet. I’m sure the people within the media
industry are well aware of what Jennifer was trying to do. Well let
me ask you this question – if you were a man, without a movie to
promote, would you be a little hesitant to date some one like
Jennifer after what she has done?? What if your relationship with
Jennifer were to fall apart, how will she then take you apart?? I
don’t know about you, but at work, I’m wary about people who
gossip and bad mouth co-workers to other colleagues who are not
her friends. Well, if you were an actor, a
reasonably well known actor, wouldn’t you be just a little wary
about dating Jennifer?? She could of course date a no name guys
- an agent or something but I don’t think she’d rather.

part 3 - I think Passing Through or some one may have covered
this point I’m making here but anyway, I’ll try and make the same
point again.

We don’t know Brad, Angelina and Jennifer. But people within
the industry probably have a better idea of these 3 people,
whether they are nice, whether they are decent people. So far,
Brad and Angelina have continued to be offered roles and offers
appear to have dried up for Jennifer. I actually expected Jennifer
to be offered more roles and endorsements as she is popular in
America. TBU did well though I know some of you think its
because of VV, I do think people also went to see TBU because of
Jennifer.

I could be wrong but I wonder if the apparent lack of offers is
because certain key decision makers don’t like her. These key
people have to make a judgment whether to offer to use Jennifer
or not. When they have to exercise that judgment, I wonder if
they don’t just think, “Jennifer?? - no, not really,, just don’t feel
comfortable, won’t stick my neck out for her, don’t really like her.
Lets try - Kate Hudson, or someone else instead.” Lets face it,
people don’t like back stabbers in any industry, just too
threatening. If you had a choice, would you work with a back
stabber??

Wow, lylian – that was a great post. I agree that the world is small and she is all but gone in the industry. The only reason she is behind the camera is because she thinks that the thing to do and not because she has a desire to. She is shallow and one dimensional. There is nothing wrong with that but don’t fault others who want more in life than that.

Why is Brad a puppet since he has a purpose in life other than being eye candy on the red carpet for some wanna-be movie actress? Jen could have had all this and more but SHE became complacent. Yeah you can blame Angelina for being so god-damn gorgeous, but in all honesty, if he was my husband, I would have been on the set every day and made Ms. Jolie my bestest best friend.
If Brad is the puppet they desperately want him to be, how long before AJ gets rid of him? Take it from another strong woman – he would have been gone a long time ago. It doesn’t take long to smell out weak minded meat. She would have seen those cracks in the armor before getting pregnant and definitely after traveling all over the world with him and yet we see pictures of the both them looking like true bliss.

I hope that Jen’s fans stop being so emotional and throw some
real support behind her because she could use it.
I’m sure that no one wants to work with her even if she could
bring in the money. Remember well-known box office stars Val
Kilmer and Sean Young from the 80’s? People who are difficult
make it hard for directors and costars to want to work with them.
Between two people who are of equal value to the fil m in terms of
appeal and fitting the role and being able to handle the material
(another place she falls down), they will choose who is nicer and
more stimulating to work with. Someone who brings something to
the table — a friendly attitude, a good work ethic, and an iterest in
the project. After what she herself said about her costars,
directors, and the projects themselves she blamed for her sorry
performances in the last two years, who would want her on the
team?

Pune agog ahead of Hollywood star couple’s visit

By Michael Gonsalves, Pune, Sep 23: The impending visit of top Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for a film shoot in this western Indian city has all the top hoteliers and apartment owners reserving rooms for the crew that is to stay several weeks.

The Hollywood heartthrobs will be here for a month from mid-October to shoot a movie based on American journalist Daniel Pearl, who was killed in Pakistan four years ago.

Jolie plays Mariane Pearl, the slain journalist’s wife, who wrote the book ” A Mighty Heart”, on which the film is based. The star couple will be accompanied by their three kids - Maddox, Zahara and Shiloh-Nouvel.

Pune, scored over other locations for the shooting as the city’s landscape and ambience resembled between Karachi and Islamabad in Pakistan where Pearl was beheaded in cold blood.

Pune is the cultural capital of Maharashtra, the state in western India known more for the city of Mumbai - the land of Bollywood. It is the city where the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) is located and is also an information technology hub.

According to well informed sources here, a team from Britain and Mumbai-based producer Kailashnath Surendranath and his wife Arti did bookings in a few hotels and service apartments in the city a month ago.

Amit Bhosale, director of Bhosale Constructions, a biggie in real estate is looking forward to the stars’ visit, as his bungalow could be one of the places the couple might shoot in.

“I am looking forward to the Hollywood stars’ visit. I don’t know where the couple will stay although a team came and saw our 30,000-sq-ft-bungalow,” Bhosale told IANS.

He did not rule out the possibility of the crew using the Abby’s Palace, his father Avinash Bhosale’s house, in Baner, an upmarket locality in the western part of the city for the film shoot. The lush green, picturesque land has a clubhouse, helipad and a hangar.

Bhosale said the team also visited another of his sprawling big bungalows called Jijai, named after the mother of Maratha King Shivaji at Bhosale Nagar area. “I really cannot wait to meet the duo,” he said, unable to control his excitement.

“I do not want to say anything at this moment please,” is all that Gauri Naiknavare, director of Naiknavare Builders, who own huge service apartments called Seasons in downtown Aundh area said.

However, sources confirmed that two floors with 18 spacious rooms have been booked for the technical crew of the film from Oct 6 for six weeks.

Although all of them are double rooms, the foreign crew will occupy one each only, the sources said, adding a large crew from Bollywood, who will also stay in the city, will assist in the shooting.

Gopan Krishnan, director (sales and marketing) of Hotel Le Meridien, a five-star hotel, said that over 100 rooms have been booked in all the big hotels in the city.

“We have booked five best suites for the film unit and three other rooms. They will be our very special guests. But we have no details who will be staying with us,” he said, adding that an array of Hollywood stars have enjoyed their hospitality in the past.

The Taj Blue Diamond hotel has also booked about 40 rooms for the film crew. Sources confirmed that Jolie and Pitt’s security manager had surveyed the hotel and then confirmed the bookings.

Residents feel the ’star visit’ will do wonders in improving Pune’s image.

“It is great for the city and the youngsters will have a ball,” Tripurari Sharan, director of FTII, told IANS. He added that many Hollywood stars have visited the sprawling lush green campus of the institute.

The visit has added more hype as the Jolie-Pitt starrer “Mr and Mrs Smith” was a box office hit across India raking in the moolah a year ago.

Model Vahbiz Dorabjee said she and her friends were excited about the stars touching down. “We are using all our contacts to get close to them. The city is really happening and I hope I get to shake hands with the cute Brad,” she added, giggling.

“All the guys and girls are going gaga. Everywhere the talk is about the Jolie-Pitt duo and the film. There is a kind of frenzy in the air and the excitement is palpable,” said city-based fashion choreographer Shekhar Sable.

Said Sonali Thatte, a senior manager with Vascon Engineers Pvt Ltd, a 20-year-old construction company: “I am excited about their stay in the city. The event will add more value to the city. The city has indeed become a hot destination for the film industry too. I hope I will get to see the duo at close range if not shake my hands with them as I am sure there will be some parties thrown for them in the city.”

Lylian, what can I say? You are absolutely positively dead on. Where are the movie offers? I’ve always wondered if deep down they (JA and the Puppet Master Havuna) knew the woman has no staying power and that’s why they threw caution to the wind and went at it like they did. Doing four movies back to back…..who does that? Even Accomplished actors know better (did I just answer my own question). Going after BP and AJ the way they did in the VF piece…..seemed really desperate…….like a now or never type move. Unfortunetly, it seems to have backfired on them. JA has shown over and over again that she is only in for the good times….when things turn sour, she turns. Everytime I read the comments she made about the movies, I cringe. Who badmouths their own movies openly….while it’s still showing? “The worst experience of my life?” “it obviously was never fleshed out?”……why? Even if she didn’t like it, she should have kept her opinions to herself, other people’s livelihood was riding on it. Again it shows that things have to be about her…anyway, enough about her.

Well said. The woman needs to re-inevent her self. Seriously, reinvention is not always a bad thing. It shows you’re a thinking person…..you look back on your life, take stock and see past mistakes. The first thing she should do is quit with the little girl persona. Honestly, that irks me…..the woman is 37 yrs old! Act it for goodness sakes, enough with the cutesy, bubble gum behavior.
