OlderJolie/Pitt Foundation Formed
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have formed the Jolie/Pitt Foundation to aid humanitarian causes around the world. The newly formed charitable foundation is giving away $1 million to the Global Action for Children and $1 million to Doctors Without Borders, to help families affected by HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty.
The U.S. director for Global Action for Children, Jennifer Delaney, said: “Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt not only care, but more important, are taking concrete action to address the fact that there will be 20 million children orphaned by AIDS by 2010, and millions more orphaned by tuberculosis, malaria and conflict or whose parents are sick and dying.”
The couple’s spokesman, Trevor Neilson, released a statement saying: “Angelina and Brad are committed to using their resources to help the world’s most vulnerable people. These two organizations are focusing on crises that receive far too little attention and Angelina and Brad are happy to do their part to help.”
And here’s a list of Brad and Angelina’s Banksy art purchases:
- $226,000: The “Picnic” painting depicts a white family of four merrily lunching under an umbrella on a red checked blanket while 15 starving Africans - including several children with distended bellies - look on.
- $75,000: A white bust with a bleeding bullet hole in the forehead - was a particular favorite of Jolie’s. “She went nuts for that one,” an onlooker told the mag. “She told [her baby daddy], ‘I must have that one.’”
- $75,000: Portrait of a man hit in the head with a custard pie.

Brad and Angelina are doing something good. And if you think that people in LA matter more than those in Africa your a sad lot. We are ALL human. There is suffering all around. These two are doing all they can to help their fellow man. What are you doing? Um nothing that’s what!
And if you have a problem with charity to non Americans I guess you would do away with our donations of foriegn aid? Bc the American goverenment every single ******* min of the day aids those that need it. Our own president-clueless as he is- is fighting a war based on helping others. I dont believe that but that’s his case.
So get off your ******* ass and do something for the people that you seem to think these two owe so much to. Start your own god damn organization and spend less time bad mouthing others that really make a difference.

Fresh, as in this morning, from a strategically placed spy in LA …here’s the not-so-exciting scoop: The Pitts, as widely reported, have been doomed for a while: since as early as 2003, when Brad made some telling comments in a magazine interview saying that love doesn’t have to be forever, that he and Jen knew that, and that if their ride had to end…it would end, and they would accept it. When the (inexplicable) buzz around her performance in The Good Girl took her to a new level, Jen put Brad off babies until the end of Friends. When the 9th season concluded with an extension, she once again promised one more year. In that time she was signed to nearly 5 upcoming projects…without consulting him first. Her big mistake was not telling him before the scripts would arrive. When he saw her accepting role after role - and had to read about it in the daily trades - he confronted her. And to hold him off, she relented again…temporarily. So the deal is: she finishes the show, he finishes Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Oceans 12 over the summer of 2004…and then they take a break. What happens? Derailed. As in the movie co-starring Clive Owen. She signs on with, yet again, no warning to Brad and it’s off to couples therapy we go. Wouldn’t you know it…every interview she gave last year leading up to the Friends finale was taped while the two were in counselling. And although she had absolutely NO intention of having a kid any time soon, she still persisted in saying on Diane Sawyer, and Oprah, and ET, and on and on and on…that a baby was on its way (which means she’s a better actress than we give her credit for). This further infuriated Brad. ‘Obviously your image is more important than actually making what you say real…why are you going on tv saying one thing and then refusing to get this done as soon as you get home.

Next up: filming with Angelina. Jen nearly lost it when she heard about the on-screen chemistry. So she flies to Cannes to open Troy with her husband and they spend a few weeks in Europe where things were actually getting better. For the sake of the marriage, after getting advice from his parents, he was willing to wait, understanding that his wife clearly had many issues to resolve within herself and wasn’t ready at the time for a baby anyway. When news of the interview reached Jen, she hit the roof, prompting a huge fight, and the famous ‘London’ incident when he ended up celebrating his birthday alone last December and she was photographed at the airport, upset and, some say, without her wedding ring. They briefly reconnected over Christmas, made the decision together without fanfare and then joined Courteney and David on vacay for one last hurrah to escape the media frenzy when the announcement dropped on January 7th. However…what started out as an amicable split is getting increasingly nastier as time goes on. I admire Brad and Angelina so much for their humanitarian work. Angelina would be donating and trying her best to bring awareness even without Brad… she has been doing it for 5 years before him. I wonder about George clooney and Brad Pitt, though. Why did it take them so long to get involved ? I’m not too sure about Brad and george’s motives, but that doesn’t matter because at least they’re doing something NOW. The fact is Brad and Angelina are doing a lot of great things together as a couple. Now they formed the Jolie-Pitt foundation to do even more. That is awesome!
I do remember that the barbucue took place at his and jennifer’s house while she went to the Golden Globes to present an award. Everyone was wondering where Brad was and it was reported that he had a barbecue and Angelina was there. At the time I did not think anything of it. So basically this has been a year long affair and Jennifer was just strung along the whole time. He had no intention of having kids with her when he started his whole ‘I want kids now’ campaign during press for Troy and Ocean’s 12.

GOLDEN couple Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt are living separate lives, say friends who fear their marriage is heading for the rocks.

Pitt’s closeness to his Mr and Mrs Smith co-star Angelina Jolie is being cited as the reason for the rift.
“It’s as if Brad and Jennifer have become strangers. It’s very sad and worrying,” said one source.
The couple have appeared together in public just once in the past two months — at the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on September 19.
Even then, their body language spoke volumes.
“They looked extremely uncomfortable with one another. Brad was distant and Jen was clingy,” said a source.
The attempt to put on a show of togetherness came days after Pitt, 40, had been reunited with Jolie, 29. They re-shot the opening sequence of Mr and Mrs Smith in Victorville, Southern California, on September 13 and 14 — and stayed in connecting hotel rooms.
Pitt and Jolie became friendly on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith earlier this year — so friendly that in May Pitt’s press agent publicly denied any relationship.
One pal witnessed the growing closeness between the pair at a barbecue that Jolie threw for the crew.
“There was loads of delicious food but Brad and Angelina were so into each other they couldn’t eat.”
Friends are also worried about the amount of time Pitt and Aniston, 35, spend apart.
On September 10, Pitt attended an “I-hate-George-Bush” fundraiser alone and he recently dined twice at a Los Angeles restaurant — alone.
“Brad and Jennifer have been through rough times before — but never anything like this.
“All their friends are concerned about whether they can make their marriage work for them again. At the moment it’s not looking good,” said a source.
We can rehash and analyze the past but it is better to just move on. Brad and Angie are together because they chose to do so. It is tiring to read the why’s and what’s of Brad’s previous marriage especially in reference to the X. Hopefully, we can all put it to rest and bask in the joys of Brad and Angie’s beautiful family.

Brad & Jennifer started dating in April 1998, Jennifer dumped Tate to be with Brad.
I don’t believe all the tabloid stories about the artwork purchased by Brad and Angie. First we were told that they bought seven pieces, now it has been reduced to three pieces. Also during the shooting of MAMS, I read an interview given by Angie about how Brad was protected during the love making scenes especially since he got hurt while he was shooting Troy. I take all these stories with a grain of salt. With that said, I applaud Brad and Angie for being good parents and humanitarians.

Yes, and my point is…WHY is a tabloid rumor in this posting which speaks officially of their new foundation and charities??
Was it done just to elicit negative nasty hater comments. Very frustrating to want to talk about how they are helping the world, and yet having to contend with discussions about how weird AJ is for buying a bust with a bullet hole in it that she may not have even bought.

I have an unproven theory–those that like to bash AJ and BP for their love are people who have had failed romances. They just can’t move on from the hurt they had felt, so they project on JA, AJ and BP. Instead of realizing that the three central characters in this drama (JA, AJ and BP) have moved on and are happy–they continue to bash AJ and BP–and of course JA has done nothing to make a positive statement–she says move on while it is whine, whine, whine.
I say, AJ and BP are a couple. If you don’t like it, go to another site (female first comes to mind) and have fun channeling your negative self-image onto it instead of complaining about someone’s foundation giving to charity!

Read Vanity Fair, Maniston says it was bull crap…Pitt in GQ says it was bull crap….Maniston’s Friends said family was not on Pitt’s mind at all — which actually makes sense if the guy is living apart from her for 6 months of the year, then unofficially separating….I’m sure he was thinking of how he was going to extricate himself from that whole mess…NOT having kids.

#33: meli, not to put you down or anything, but here in the US, they have an extensive welfare program and poverty here is not like poverty anywhere else. Here, you could be on the poverty line if you earn less than $18k a year. If we can feed, educate and give medical care for millions of illegal immigrants, I don’t think the citizens are going hungry.
The problem here is poor or lack of education. It’s people who don’t even bother to go to school to learn since they can get foodstamps and financial aid. Before anybody bash me for my insensitivity, I work for a company that deals with non-profit agencies. They go out of their way to find recipients for their largesse. We help them get grants from the government and foundations so they can give to the poor, the homeless, the battered wives, etc.
If you’re hungry, then you just don’t know where to go to get food. If you’re uneducated, it’s because you didn’t want to go to school. It’s sad but it’s true. In this country, even the homeless can be a drug addict or a drunk. Now where do you thnk that money comes from?

Once again, it isn’t enough. They should make themselves poor,
or live well beneath their means, to satisfy the jealous who criticize
their helping others. Why can’t you sneering people focus on what
IS donated, and not on what isn’t?
I doubt that those who criticize Brad and Angie’s giving will want
God judging them and their spiteful hearts in the same way they
judge those who are doing something worthwhile.

Yesterday….less than 24 hrs it was “why won’t they announce what charity they gave the money”. Today, it is “why are they announcing it…..why did they set up a foundation?”. This had got to be the craziest, most idiotic thing I’ve heard. Please Bamzs fans, why do we give them an audience? Why do we go back and forth when we know they are just hating for hating sake?
