OlderJolie/Pitt Foundation Formed
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have formed the Jolie/Pitt Foundation to aid humanitarian causes around the world. The newly formed charitable foundation is giving away $1 million to the Global Action for Children and $1 million to Doctors Without Borders, to help families affected by HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty.
The U.S. director for Global Action for Children, Jennifer Delaney, said: “Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt not only care, but more important, are taking concrete action to address the fact that there will be 20 million children orphaned by AIDS by 2010, and millions more orphaned by tuberculosis, malaria and conflict or whose parents are sick and dying.”
The couple’s spokesman, Trevor Neilson, released a statement saying: “Angelina and Brad are committed to using their resources to help the world’s most vulnerable people. These two organizations are focusing on crises that receive far too little attention and Angelina and Brad are happy to do their part to help.”
And here’s a list of Brad and Angelina’s Banksy art purchases:
- $226,000: The “Picnic” painting depicts a white family of four merrily lunching under an umbrella on a red checked blanket while 15 starving Africans - including several children with distended bellies - look on.
- $75,000: A white bust with a bleeding bullet hole in the forehead - was a particular favorite of Jolie’s. “She went nuts for that one,” an onlooker told the mag. “She told [her baby daddy], ‘I must have that one.’”
- $75,000: Portrait of a man hit in the head with a custard pie.

I thought Gigi was talking not about the strike but that A-C line
technical problem at Chamber street station (at least I was
thinking about that one) which resulted in shutting down all
uptown services. I am always on the worker’s side and I think
most commuters understood the strike. We al know it is
appauling how MTA workers are paid.
Gigi/Be Sane: Wow, we can all relate here. I think that New Yorkers have faced a great deal in the last few years, and we’ve grown and learned from them, and we always survive. I didn’t like the Transit Strike, but let me tell you, I know alot of people who work for the MTA and they are treated horribly. I know one woman who told me that when she joined the MTA they refused to install ‘Laddies’ Rooms until a group of woman went to the Union and told them they were going to the papers. Well, now they have ‘Ladies’ Rooms. They also did not take into consideration those women who were preggers — and we all know how thos trains can push us all around — until, again they told the Unions they were going to the papers. MTA folks didn’t strike for the fun of it, they struck to get a point across. I take the train from Trade Centre to Queens everyday and I can tell you the times that I’ve had to tell some jerk from Long Island off because he’s decided to put his newpaper down on the floor and get off at Penn or 42nd Street, yet, they’ll be the ones that will say the trains are dirty! Ticks me off!! I watched a group of teens come on the train with food and drink, put their garbage into the bags and walk out and put them in the trash bins, yet I’ve seen the high executives like take and put their garbage under the seats — like no one will see!! Gee, I got carried away here… back to MTA. I truly feel that those who work for the MTA should be better treated than they are.

I truly sympathize to all the transit workers who have to suffer from the demised negotiation talks. I am not attacking the MTA workers, on the contrary my line of work sides with the underdog. I think mta workers should get decent salary and benefits. I am simply pointing out that there were failures in all levels during the negotiation talks, between the Union rep., the mayors administration rep., the mta adm. which ultimately created a far more chaotic situation by putting the public in danger, especially those who are sick. It is very easy for people to judge somehow as if a transit strike is the only alternative. There were other alternative on the table, yet the union chose a tactic that ultimately backfired on them, which is ashamed because then they lost the sympathy of the public. I just hope that the mta workers have finally received what they deserve, otherwise, it was just all for nothing.
I know all about the working poor - and how they struggle everyday to survive. I work with poor people everyday. For those who claimed that this country has somehow takes care of their poor, is simply ignorant and misguided about reality. Yes, we have a welfare system created to help the poor - but it is a punitive system based on the idea that somehow poor people chose to be poor and prefer hand outs. Of course there are exceptions. To be eligible for welfare is not an easy process to go through, not to mention that welfare applicants get treated badly at welfare offices like a pariah of our society….
By the way, I have a masters in clinical social work from NYU, and I also teach field work to masters degree students from Columbia Uni. - so, I know how the social welfare system works both administratively and out in the field….

I felt Jen misled the public, telling the media again, and again that “a baby is on the way” , yet we see pics of her smoking. Either she lied or she is irreresponsible. One should not smoke if one wants to conceive.

Jennifer Aniston is very much loaded. I hope she at least open her purse, contribute to charitable organizations. She made 1million per episode on friends. There are 12 episodes per season. That translated to 12 million per year. Plus, she is on magazine covers. She made as much money as Angelina according to Forbes magazine. I know all the charitable org usually publicizes whenever there is a large donation. This is good, because all these organizations feel that this will make a good example to others. It would be nice to hear from Jen.
Oh Jen, do something. The magazine will print about your donation whether you want that announce or not.
The ex give to charity and that’s all that needs to be said if she want to be low key about it, it’s still a blessing to those she helps. Let’s move on.

I find it very interesting and revealing that the haters are attacking the establishment of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.
To me it confirms their commitment and their total support to each other. This is where all the anger is comming from…the consolidation of two huge A-list actors…They’re building a family together, this is not a fling and their actions support this. They might not be married but Brad and Angie are doing everything to legally to join them together.
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation is combining all their charitable endeavor under one umbella. This is not the actions of a couple who are only interested in a short term relationship….they’re in it for the long term. With setting up a private charity foundation, they’re taking control of how they want their humanitarian involvement directed…this foundation will be Angie baby with Brad at her side very involved, but it seem Brad’s media and business empire building will be his baby with Angie by his side.
It appear they are dividing the work toward each other strength, again this isn’t the actions of a couple who is looking at the short term.
That’s why I’m LMAO on the haters whinning about setting up a Charity Foundation….geesh, get a life!

Secondly, we have been getting a lot of requests from lurkers who’ve either never posted before or post so infrequently that we do not know who you are by name. Those requests are going to be turned down. If none of the current members knows the person and can vouch for them, then we’re going to deny the request. Please don’t even bother to call this a “clique”. We’re just trying to keep the haters and trolls out. There are currently almost 25 people in the group, so if you’ve posted here semi-frequently in recent times, someone is bound to know you and can tell the group you’re okay to let in.
Last, we do not intend for the new group to replace Jared as our main BAMZS meeting place. We will still be using Jared as our springboard. The group is mainly a failsafe in case Jared has server problems or so we can discuss personal issues without being inundated by sick people
like the troll who made vile remarks about Elena’s personal tragedy and Guli’s son. That was uncalled for and evil.
When we have things settled we will discuss when/whether or not to open the group up to new members. At that time we will provide an e-mail address for you to send your requests to so that Jared won’t have to act as a middle-man again.

Personally I like this blog. I like the people. I like the discussion about bamzs. I personally hate it that almost everytime a troublemakers come aboard, politics comes into play which is never good. People are capable of discussing politics if it is done respectfully, yet that is not what happens here with the name calling or generalizing that puts people on defense. It is unnnecessary. I wish people would ignore the trolls. while I encourage people to talk about how they feel, I wish they would spend a little time thinking about saying it in a way that does not create tension among other bamz fans or make them feel uncomfortable. . As intelligent as the bamzs fans here, I think it an attainable goal. I enjoy this blog except when tensions arises due to fan fighting among themselves .

Apparently there was some confusion in my earlier message about the e-mail group because we’ve received another 23 requests. So, once again, PLEASE DO NOT SEND US REQUESTS TO JOIN AT THIS TIME.
Honestly…at this point most of us don’t know if we’re coming or going. We’ve got mail coming out the ying-yang, so please, do us a favor and give us a few days to get things worked out.
Basically the way it stands right now is this - if you e-mailed us yesterday or before the time stap of my previous message - more than like you’re going to get into the group. The only exceptions to this is probably going to be newbies. As I said earlier - if nobody can vouch for your sanity…you’re probably not going to get in right now. That’s not to say you’ll never get an invite. We’re just being super cautious right now.
As we sort through the requests we will either send you an e-mail with an invite or totally ignore you…just kidding about that last part…
BTW - I AM NOT the ring leader, so haters spare me that mantra. I’m just the mouthpiece.

At first I was a little bit bummed about the comments on getting married. But aren’t they setting things up as if they were married? The kids have been officially adopted by Brad, the homes have been renovated to accommodate all, they aren’t away from each and the kids for more than three days, they travel everywhere together and now they are setting up a foundation together. Really, what is a marriage certificate compared to all of that? A marriage certificate is only for the law of the land and does not consider whats in the heart. Their actions have always spoken louder than any words, PDA or a piece of paper from the state of CA could ever say.
