OlderJolie/Pitt Foundation Formed
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have formed the Jolie/Pitt Foundation to aid humanitarian causes around the world. The newly formed charitable foundation is giving away $1 million to the Global Action for Children and $1 million to Doctors Without Borders, to help families affected by HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty.
The U.S. director for Global Action for Children, Jennifer Delaney, said: “Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt not only care, but more important, are taking concrete action to address the fact that there will be 20 million children orphaned by AIDS by 2010, and millions more orphaned by tuberculosis, malaria and conflict or whose parents are sick and dying.”
The couple’s spokesman, Trevor Neilson, released a statement saying: “Angelina and Brad are committed to using their resources to help the world’s most vulnerable people. These two organizations are focusing on crises that receive far too little attention and Angelina and Brad are happy to do their part to help.”
And here’s a list of Brad and Angelina’s Banksy art purchases:
- $226,000: The “Picnic” painting depicts a white family of four merrily lunching under an umbrella on a red checked blanket while 15 starving Africans - including several children with distended bellies - look on.
- $75,000: A white bust with a bleeding bullet hole in the forehead - was a particular favorite of Jolie’s. “She went nuts for that one,” an onlooker told the mag. “She told [her baby daddy], ‘I must have that one.’”
- $75,000: Portrait of a man hit in the head with a custard pie.

Spielberg donates large amounts to charity but does not issue a press release everytime. So many Hollywood stars also give a lot to charity. We just don’t hear about it. They do it anonymously.

Brad & Angelina are no different that Liz Taylor & her AIDS fight, Nicole Kidman and her newly accepted UN position, The Revlon girls (Halle, Eva, and Julianne) against breast cancer, Charlize Theron and her animal charities and fight against rape, Kim Basinger and her fight to save endangered animals, George Clooney and Darfur and his numerous charities, Sean Penn, Gwyneth Paltrow’s recent Africa campaign advert, Oprah’s African School for Girls and enumerable other chraitable works that she makes sure you know about…I could go on and on and on….at any given time, any number of charitable, philanthropic organizations run by and attended by celebrities are having functions and fundraisers on an almost monthly basis in Hollywood — complete w/ photogs, mag spreads, glossy articles, etc….

The only reason you are attacking Brad & Angelina, is because they are beautiful, they have beautiful babies, they are rich A-list movie stars in love….

My Angie one is Gia. Her performance is excellent and to me, she is one of the few actresses that’s actually talented and beautiful inside and out.

Than how do you know this to be true.
OK, last post for tonite. I’m not American and but as an American
president has an impact on my life, I do take an interest in what is
happening. I’m a liberal and would generally vote Democrat if I
were american but not always. At the moment, there isn’t a
democratic candidate I would pick. I know Hilary Clinton’s name
has been mentioned but I’m hoping that she won’t be running. I
don’t have any negative opinion about her but I think she is too
divisive a figure for America right now. After Bush, I think
America needs a leader who is generally acceptable to most
people. Right this moment, I’d vote for John McCain. At least he
understands what is it to be in a war and I believe he will use force
if necessary but only if necessary. I really do think that George
Bush had a totally unrealistic picture of what war really means.
On Bill Clinton, just 2 comments. 1. He was I think an extremely
intelligent talented president. However, he blew his chance to
make a real difference because he couldn’t keep his ****** in his
pants. For that, if I were an American, I wouldn’t be able to quite
forgive him. 2. This is a story for Bill’s fans. My ex boss told me
that he had a woman friend who was really rather anti clinton.
Then, she went to some fund raising convention or something
event. She told my ex boss who told me, that she found Clinton
incredibly charismatic and by the end of the evening, just wanted
to have his baby. I laugh whenever I hear this story. Then, I go
back to point 1 - what a bloody waste of his talent.

The admirable trait of Ms Jolie is her Resolve. How anyone can actually hate her/them for doing what they are doing is mind-blowing. We are really missing the picture here. With all that she has witnessed just like so many other people, on a more personal level she only has to look at her kids are be even MORE motivated. Maddox and Zahara wouldn’t be were they are right now. Zahara we all know would be dead and Maddox homeless are relinquishing. The beautiful wonders who have made her life so full and happy wouldn’t have had a chance. People can say all they can but she is not backing down. She is doing what is RIGHT, because it is.
If Sarah is a voice of reason then we are doom as a society. Congratulations to BP/AJ for setting up their Jolie-Pitt Foundation. The two million dollars are going to two worthy organizations. Thanks for the information about these Organizations that someone posted above. BP/AJ are living life on their own terms. You can sit at your keyboard and spew hatred, vile comments and inane arugments all day long. This does not change the fact that they are helping others and are together as a couple. They have adopted two beautiful children who might not have lived otherwise and together created a beautiful baby girl. I commend them for moving forward in their humanatarian efforts and for shedding light on various plights that people in third world countries as well as the United States on going through. It is amazing how one couple lives have been scrutinized excessively by the media and rags. Their art purchase has gone from 8 pieces and $1 million dollars to 3 peices and $400.000 all courtesy of internet rumors and Star magazine. BP/AJ keep their private life private. If Spielberg donates anonimously or not to be ‘known’ about it,
why do you KNOW about it?
There are many other celebrities who give to charity, but none of
them, Gwenyth, Clooney, Halle, Kidman etc has partners who are
ALSO mega-stars. Jolie and Pitt put together, their visibility has
not doubled but sky-rocketted. That’s why you see all the
headlines about them and not so much about others. Yes, don’t
be jealous. Just do your part if you have time to be jealous.

If it’s done anonymously, then you how do know for a fact that Spielberg and JA donate? Did he actually mention in an interview that he does that? Or did you hear this from a “source” that claims to be close to him?? Because “sources close to him” aren’t exactly reliable. Or…is this a bad case of truthiness?

See? Nothing is good for haters: if they publish what they donate, this is only a PR move. If they don’t announce it, this means they don’t give anything to charities just and they must have stolen the money. This is the logic of haters or the Xfans.
