OlderJolie/Pitt Foundation Formed
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have formed the Jolie/Pitt Foundation to aid humanitarian causes around the world. The newly formed charitable foundation is giving away $1 million to the Global Action for Children and $1 million to Doctors Without Borders, to help families affected by HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty.
The U.S. director for Global Action for Children, Jennifer Delaney, said: “Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt not only care, but more important, are taking concrete action to address the fact that there will be 20 million children orphaned by AIDS by 2010, and millions more orphaned by tuberculosis, malaria and conflict or whose parents are sick and dying.”
The couple’s spokesman, Trevor Neilson, released a statement saying: “Angelina and Brad are committed to using their resources to help the world’s most vulnerable people. These two organizations are focusing on crises that receive far too little attention and Angelina and Brad are happy to do their part to help.”
And here’s a list of Brad and Angelina’s Banksy art purchases:
- $226,000: The “Picnic” painting depicts a white family of four merrily lunching under an umbrella on a red checked blanket while 15 starving Africans - including several children with distended bellies - look on.
- $75,000: A white bust with a bleeding bullet hole in the forehead - was a particular favorite of Jolie’s. “She went nuts for that one,” an onlooker told the mag. “She told [her baby daddy], ‘I must have that one.’”
- $75,000: Portrait of a man hit in the head with a custard pie.

Um, how do we know that Brad and/or Angelina purchased these items?
I really feel like the official statement and press release about their donations and new foundation, was significant and important enough to post on it’s own…..
Why also include several pics and text on a tabloid story about purchases they may not have even made?
To me, it just takes away from the main story…whether it’s designed to do that I don’t know - bottomline it does.
So why post it?

BILL GATES is the richest man in the world. Do you understand that? Gates is worth BILLIONS, he has more than enough money to donate to his foundation and he doesn’t have to work. Jolie-Pitt’s net worth is just a drop in the bucket when you compare it to Gates or Buffet. Bill and Melissa Gates have a foundation in their name so what’s wrong with the Jolie/Pitts having a foundation under your name? Why attack someone who’s doing something for charity and not those celebrities who only care about shopping, tanning, spa etc?

Money may talk but ignorance is a crying shame. Some of you haters really need to get a clue. Maddox and Zahara lives have gone from poverty and despair to two loving parents. You can call AJ all the vile names you want because it makes your empty life seem better. The fact is they are moving forward with their lives while you stay behind moaning a Hollywood marriage and demise of the career of a studio made sitcom TV star.
Yes, indeed, the Jolie-Pitts are indeed the new power couple. They just go on living their lives in a positive way, TOGETHER. Just ignore the Xgnats as they are imploding as their “golden couple fairy tale” is exposed for what is really was, just untrue. Reality, which Xgnats cannot grasp, is that it is ever more evident that Brad and Angelina are continuing their nest building, and are together for the long haul. The Jolie-Pitts are working it for all to see that they are truly for real. The Jolie-Pitt foundation is an excellent vehicle to fund groups and causes they believe in. Nonprofits are closely monitored by the IRS. This oversight will benefit Brad and Angelina as Xgnats and other critics who want to know can see that the Jolie-Pitts are putting their money where their mouth is. Only noncaring individuals, of which there are many, would be critical of people who are trying to help others in any way they can. Richard Branson, a multi billionaire, just announced that he is donating billions to fight global warming, from his company’s profits. Xgnats was he not to tell of his donation? Miserable Xgnats and other critics, don’t you know that money attracks money, like magnets? Many are motivated to donate after learning of other’s donations. That’s how this works. Hail the Jolie-Pitts and all others who do what they can to reach out to others in need. All assistance of whatever kind by whomever is valuable.
This can’t be true - I thought they already cast this role to Dan Futterman (as lsited on IMBD). I wish these papers would try and do a liitle reesearch…..

Isn’t this the same mag that named Maddox as one of the most powerful last year because “he help break up the Golden Couple”. Although I think Brad deserves to be on a most powerful list, I think Details maybe using Brad/Vince thing for promotion.

Angelina refused to wear the protective flesh-coloured underwear actors use for sex scenes. She told the wardrobe girl: ’I won’t need that.’ The two of them filmed their sex scenes naked, which is unusual.

Alexanderina, LOTF is one of his best. Although when he had that long hair, he did look like one of those romance novel cover models lol Can you imagine it? Him holding a buxom woman while his ruffled shirt is open and his hair is blowing in the wind. I’m not saying that he’s Fabio though…Fabio scares me.
Kudos to them for continuing to give and participate even though others are constantly nitpicking every gesture they do.

Hi Lylian: While I respect your opinion, and I do, I must say that I don’t care who took care of Clinton on the side, as it was none of my business — it was his and Hillary’s. It’s like Sharon Stone said on Larry King one night (don’t watch Larry King on a regular basis, but just caught a few minutes of interview with Sharon) ‘If I hire a person, I don’t care what they do when they go home, I care that they do their job”. I voted for Clinton to do his job and he did. Certain Repubicans in our congress wanted Clinton out of office and did everything they could — hence getting Linda Tripp to tape her conversations with Monica. Monica would not have said anything to anyone, I truly believe this, but she was a silly little girl and talked after being proded by Linda. After all was said and done, Linda was backlashed and not even the Republicans who were responsible for all this mess did not protect, nor give Linda a job in the new administration. It is rumoured that some Republican congressman felt sorry for Linda and gave her monies for face lift. Linda is out there somewhere, I’m sure, regretting she ever got involved in the Clinton mess. Two of my very close friends, who are Republicans went to see Clinton speak in New York and told me the next day — this is right out of their mouths now — “I’D DO HIM”. I could not stop laughing.
Although I like John McCaine, I feel, like I stated before, he goes back and forth too much. I just hope that we — both the Republican and Dems. come up with someone who can bring back the shine to the US, as it’s just so dull right now with this president.

Not quite understanding how Jennifer Aniston gets included in a post about a a charity foundation but in reading over the posts it seems that there are a lot of mess starters here
Anyway I think a foundation is a great tradition/legacy to pass on. I bet the kids will probably be involved as they age
