OlderJolie/Pitt Foundation Formed
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have formed the Jolie/Pitt Foundation to aid humanitarian causes around the world. The newly formed charitable foundation is giving away $1 million to the Global Action for Children and $1 million to Doctors Without Borders, to help families affected by HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty.
The U.S. director for Global Action for Children, Jennifer Delaney, said: “Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt not only care, but more important, are taking concrete action to address the fact that there will be 20 million children orphaned by AIDS by 2010, and millions more orphaned by tuberculosis, malaria and conflict or whose parents are sick and dying.”
The couple’s spokesman, Trevor Neilson, released a statement saying: “Angelina and Brad are committed to using their resources to help the world’s most vulnerable people. These two organizations are focusing on crises that receive far too little attention and Angelina and Brad are happy to do their part to help.”
And here’s a list of Brad and Angelina’s Banksy art purchases:
- $226,000: The “Picnic” painting depicts a white family of four merrily lunching under an umbrella on a red checked blanket while 15 starving Africans - including several children with distended bellies - look on.
- $75,000: A white bust with a bleeding bullet hole in the forehead - was a particular favorite of Jolie’s. “She went nuts for that one,” an onlooker told the mag. “She told [her baby daddy], ‘I must have that one.’”
- $75,000: Portrait of a man hit in the head with a custard pie.

These “sources” that make these claims are people who wish that they could be making millions like Brad and Angie. A lot of them are waiters, waitresses, limo drivers, bartenders, etc. and keep in mind they’re only paid when they have DIRT and the jucier it is, the higher the payday.
And I love how you’re critical of Brad “campaigning” for kids yet JA has said that she wants a family and that she wouldn’t put her career above that priority. Yet, before she even met Brad she had that chance with her past relationships and it didn’t go away when she married him.
The producers of Friends were very accomadating to Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow when they got pregnant. Her character Rachel got pregnant too. So, it’s NOT as if she didn’t have any opportunities to get the family that she always wanted. The difference is, Brad has a family now and she doesn’t. But she keeps on saying that she does want kids even though she’s still smoking, drinking and not married. And she has said that she wouldn’t be a single mother.

To Amy, Sarah and Stella,
You are missing the point, when donations are made to environmental, research, PETA etc. publicity is not needed. However to get policy or economic change requires the masses which can only be achieve by a public display of action and activity(s). A charitable organisation cannot directly make these change but indirectly can do alot by focusing continuing attention to the plights, poverty and hardships of people who are forgotten by our everyday living.
Let’s not promote Maniston on BP & AJ thread
since everybody had enough of her pity party even Ophra changed camp when she asked Ms Jolie to join her in South Africa.
Maniston is no longer in the news let’s just keep it that way as she cooks her leathery skin in the sun while Bill Cliton, Bono, George Cloney, Mat, BP & AJ are helping the less fortunate with charity for a better tomorrow.

Brad and Angie took their partnership to another level. Not only are they committed to each other and their children but they have now pulled their resources to help alleviate poverty, AIDS, etc.. Unfortunately, there are a lot of corruption and red tape in a lot of donations for different charities especially in the third world and having their own foundation will enable them to control and account where the money goes. Kudos to both of them.
#24: kinju, the major problem in Africa is the leadership. You can give and give and give, but if it doesn’t go to the right pocket, it’s not going to do any good. The leaders are blocking any country from giving more than just money because let’s face it…they want the poor, the sick and the oppressed to die.
The Red Cross is a good organization but it has seen it’s share of corruption just like the UN. The best way to go is through the catholic charities and verifiable, trustworthy NGOs.
Medicines and food would just rot in warehouses because another problem is distribution. What can you do when they won’t let people in to do what they won’t do?

Humane and charitable nevertheless …
I don’t believe all the tabloid stories about the artwork purchased by Brad and Angie. First we were told that they bought seven pieces, now it has been reduced to three pieces. Also during the shooting of MAMS, I read an interview given by Angie about how Brad was protected during the love making scenes especially since he got hurt while he was shooting Troy. I take all these stories with a grain of salt. With that said, I applaud Brad and Angie for being good parents and humanitarians.

I do remember that the barbucue took place at his and jennifer’s house while she went to the Golden Globes to present an award. Everyone was wondering where Brad was and it was reported that he had a barbecue and Angelina was there. At the time I did not think anything of it. So basically this has been a year long affair and Jennifer was just strung along the whole time.

2) - The barbucue was at ANGELINA’S HOUSE on February 15, 2004.
3) - The whole M&MS crew was there & Jennifer Aniston was in France on that date promoting her movie “Along Came Polly”.
