Eric Bana’s Boleyn Girls

Both chicks will do their usual horrible English accents and ruin this.

Eric Bana looks so hot, I love him.

I still say Keira would have been a better Mary just for the look-like-Natalie thing, but Scarlet can act better.

I sort of hope they don’t attempt accents. Accents in England back then are actually estimated to sound like current day West Virginia accents, so I’d like them to forget accents. Natalie’s had some flaw’s in V but it was also mixed dialect because of Evey’s upbringing. Maybe they’ll get a good coach for them seeing as both girls are American. Other American actresses have pulled off British just fine before.
I also think that it’s a shame if directors let accents limit casting. Good actors do the accent work as part of their role. American actors deal with so many dialects in this country, why are we not allowed to attempt British?

i dont agree with u pplz..i think good acressess make the movie work..other wise ERIC is also not english…but he b the right choice 4 the role and also the girls 2…b/c they are actors not so called STARS..

You guys are right about King Henry being a redhead and fat, but the thing is he was not fat when this story line was happening. In fact, he becomes very heavy when he is married to his third wife due to an accident (he hurt his thigh muscle) which left him unable to continue hunting, sword play, etc.

i have read this book, like a million times and as far as this picture goes, u are right about henry being thin and redheaded, in fact he was around thirtyish when this was supposed to have been happening. the girls, on the other hand, are supposed to be in their teens. mary is supposed to be the younger one with fair hair and eyes, while anne is supposed to be the tall, older, more dark complected one. more mysterious, while mary is supposed to be fair and soft. i am a little disappointed in this aspect about the movie (inferred from the pic above). i think that i like the picture in my head more than on the screen….
i’ll still see the movie though!

First of all:

I was disappointed that they did not cast a fairer looking Henry as the favored look was in fact the fairer the better back then and he did fit that bill. At this time, he was still considered the best looking male monarch in Europe. However, Eric has played any role I’ve seen him in very well and he is as many have mentioned the king of sexy in this. As for the girls, I love to look at both of them, I’m not sure what to expect from Natalie as this is very opposite her roles I have seen. Mary’s character is more of what I expect from ScarlyJo but pushed to the limit.
The biggest complaint that I have is the script. I don’t care how well any of them try to act or the director directs, the lute-ful soundtrack sounds, the locations or costumes look, etc, it is all going to be for nothing if the currently leaked p.o.s. script has not been *completely* redone. I could have written better, and one should note how awful my own writing skills are by this post. Many have complained the book is horrid, etc, etc, for all its inaccuracies and that Anne is either portrayed too nicely or the opposite, but they could have made this into an incredible movie, and maybe even corrected some things historically while they were at it. Instead, what they have done makes me want to claw my eyes out after reading such garbage. I can’t believe how terribly this has done considering this writer’s other works. Maybe he wrote it all in one day when he had a hangover, who knows, but I have really never been so disappointed in a script in my life and I’ve seen some bad ones.
