Brad & Angelina Pictures in Pune!!
The paparazzi in Pune are going wild! Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (both pictured above if you look closely) are indeed shacked up at Le Meridien hotel in Pune, India!!!!!!! (Notice the Le Meriden umbrella held up by hotel staff.) I’m sure Brad & Angie’s three children — Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh — were not far behind. Check out the pictures in the gallery…

Okay….it’s been years since I was in India (Bombay now mumbia) but from what I remember, the rickshaws are very common…..people use it instead of car coz you can work through traffic. It is also the best bet for a tourist because you can really see the sights. Some people are not into it because they think it’s not very safe but trust me….it is adventurous

Cops cry foul as Jolie-Pitt arrival not reported to FRO

Pune, October 6: TWENTY-four hours after Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt landed in Pune on Thursday to shoot A Mighty Heart, Le Meridien, the hotel where they are put up, appears to be in trouble for failing to report their arrival to the Foreigners’ Registration Office at the police commissionerate.
The Foreigners’ Act of 1946 and Foreigners (Report to Police) orders of 1971 and 1992 make it mandatory for hotels to report the arrival of foreigners within 24 hours.
Jolie, Pitt, their three children and a nanny landed in Pune around 3 pm on Thursday.
Assistant commissioner of police (Special Branch) S N Bhoomkar on Friday afternoon said, ‘‘The report called ‘C Form’ has not been submitted to the FRO within 24 hours from their arrival,’’ he said.
Police teams on Friday went to several city hotels including Le Meridien and Taj Blue Diamond to find out whether the celebrity couple were staying with them. ‘‘No hotels told the FRO officials about presence of the stars,’’ said Bhoomkar, adding,‘‘ if we find out that they have been provided accommodation without complying with the law, action would be taken against the guilty,’’ Bhoomkar said. Le Meridien general manager Jaswinder Narang said, ‘‘I do not know whether the hotel has informed the FRO about the arrival of the couple nor do I know if the FRO officials had approached the hotel asking whether Jolie and Pitt were staying here.’’

I don’t think they changed the name for Calcutta… but ya never know. I don’t know if it was a British name or Indian name originally. Even if it was a British name, they may have not changed it because it probably depends on what the city/state voted on. India IS the hugest democracy!

damn i luv these two….never cared for celebrity prosthelyisthizing (sp?) and this may be a very sad commentay on my part, but these two really are making the best of their celebrity and putting it to good use: never heard of Pune, India - now i can find it on my world atlas as easily as i can find Darfur (yes, Mr. Clooney, it’s already been done - long ago), Namibia, and Davos. and i didnt even mention my knowledge of the earth coordinates for cambodia and ethiopia.
